We returned to Webb's Custom Kitchen on Tuesday evening because of the amazing experience we had last year when we celebrated my 50th birthday--the food was phenomenal, and the service was exceptional. We even sat in the same section, just two booths down overlooking the kitchen downstairs. We had a 6:45 PM reservation and specifically requested this same section, but weren't seated until 7:20 PM because the section was full. Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to our expectations. The service was lacking; we had to call the host stand to get our waitress to come back to our table after we had finished our meal, and she immediately appeared only after that. The food, while cooked to our preferred temperature, seemed cold and lacked the flavor that made our first visit so memorable. Last year, our steaks were perfectly hot, full of flavor, and our waiter's recommendations and attention to detail made the experience truly stand out--so much so that we returned this year. Sadly, with both the service and the food falling short this time, the 45-minute drive to this restaurant wasn't worth it, and we won't be coming back. It's disappointing because our first visit, celebrating such a special occasion, set such a high bar, but this visit just didn't measure up.

As usual a wonderful dining experience. This restaurant is worth being a destination spot. It is widely known for special occasions but it is fabulous if you want to just have a great meal I love the upstairs seating. It's quiet and not crowded Prices are reasonable. Service is top notch. Attention to detail and delivery but not intrusive Fried green tomatoes, cheesy bread are a good start. Then wedge salad is the best I've had Onion soup is amazing I had the lobster and shrimp pasta. Plenty of seafood and sauce over perfectly cooked pasta. Service is excellent fast and caring. My food is always perfect ( like Hell's Kitchen) Valet parking is a plus A must try

What an incredible experience! I can see why this place comes highly recommended now. From the moment you arrive at valet until the time you depart, Webb really makes an impression. Every staff member we interacted with was wonderful and the atmosphere in the balcony along with the food itself just cannot be beat. This will definitely be our go to for special occasions! Also, huge shoutout to Olivia for offering such incredible hospitality! She really paints a picture when describing the dishes and went above and beyond to make our anniversary feel like a truly special occasion. I honestly could not be more impressed with our dinner here.

Very cool vibe that gives off a fancy, old-time theater feel. Definitely coming back. Porterhouse Club (5/5): The strip side of this 40oz porterhouse steak was phenomenal. Tender, juicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The crust was also perfect. The filet side was a little overcooked and not nearly as good as the strip side but overall, I loved this. Not much of a "challenge", but still fun to get my name on the wall and come home with a steak knife. I wish the knife was engraved or something though (it was just a regular steak knife you could buy from the store haha). NY Style Cheescake (5/5): Rich, thick, and creamy. This was a sizeable portion of very good cheesecake. Potato Cakes (4/5): Pretty good potato cakes with a lot of bacon and cheese flavor packed in. Could've been a little crispier. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Spiced Rare Tuna

The upscale steakhouse restaurant was converted from old movie theater with movie clips still being playing behind the kitchen. The dining atmosphere was excellent for patrons. I chose Spiced Ahi Tuna (cooked rare) as my dinner and house Cab (Copper Ridge). The whole dining experience was so great at a very reasonable price. It is great place to dine at Gastonia.

This is a great date night option in Gastonia. The building is an updated old theater with classic movies still playing on the screen. There's a lower level and balcony seating to add to the charm. The food was solid and our server was great. My husband loved his ribeye (as evident in the picture). His baked potato was overdone, but clearly still enjoyable. I went with the scallops with black pepper polenta. The scallops were cooked to perfection, and delicious. the plate overall was just ok. I wished there was a little less sauce so the scallops could be highlighted more. Again, solid date night option and a really cool venue.

A wonderful experience! The ambiance, atmosphere, drink and food are top notch. You must sit in the balcony, it makes the whole restaurant experience here so much better.

What a really cool and unique setting for a restaurant. It's an old theater and it looks like a lot of the structure for the projector room is the bar area. I had the duck cigars and the potato skin appetizer from the happy hour menu along with a margarita. The ducks cigars were unusual and came with three different sauces (hot mustard, chile, and an Asian flavored sauce) that were absolutely delicious. The potato skins were pretty good, but I didn't eat a lot of the potato itself just the bbq rib tips and pimento because it was delicious. The bar staff was super friendly and super attentive, and I really felt appreciated as a patron.

A restaurant built into an old tyme theater. Such a beautiful venue. Food was delicious. I had a Caesar salad and a fried chicken sandwich. Both were very good. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Such a fun way to experience both history and an amazing meal! This restaurant was an old theater and they kept so many of the original aspects of the building including film from back in the day. Our server shared the whole history! The food was also divine. A few things I loved: - cheesy bread: whoa. So good! - fried green tomatoes: so incredibly prepared - Chilean seabass: just lovely! There is street parking and I believe other lots around but we went with the free valet.

The food here is amazing. If you live in the Charlotte area or surrounding, this place may not be on your radar. It is an old movie theater and it is visually stunning. The food presentations are on point and everything we have tried here is delicious. Get the ANGRY LOBSTER tails and the Duck Cigars. The bar serves up some great cocktails as well. The Chefs Seafood Scampi Pasta was incredible and the Ribeye with fries were a hit. I ordered it medium and it was done perfectly for that temp. They offer valet parking. I suggest making a reservation. This is a GREAT first date, second date spot!!! You won't be disappointed!

Service from John was 5 star. I'm loving the angry lobster tails and my mojito style mule. The atmosphere is spectacular if you can get one of the booths with a view. If you want 5 stars from me, provide the special view for anniversary if the request is on the reservation. Other than that food is consistently delicious. Perfectly seasoned truffle fries.

Baby Lobster Tails (I think) and ravioli (not the short rib version)
Terry M.

The exterior is fairly unassuming, but inside the decor is amazing. As others have probably mentioned, it's a former movie theater, converted into an upscale dining experience. Service was impeccable for the most part. And the food lived up to the billing. I had a limited-time appetizer of ravioli while my partner had fried lobster. She loved trying my ravioli while I thought her fried lobster had too much breading. We both enjoyed the food otherwise, and the drinks were pretty decent. If anything, the desserts were a little over the top. You expect that for the kind of prices, this place charges, but sometimes a piece of poundcake with a berry drizzle or whipped cream is fine too. I look forward to going back to try their steaks.

My wife and I just got back from Napa and have a bottle of wine that happens not to be on the menu. Can we bring it and simply pay a corkage fee?

You most certainly can.

Has the chef changed post COVID vs pre COVID because there is a definitive change to the overall pallet of the menu?

Is there any other cheese options for burgers on the dinner menu?

Yes. My husband had the (very good) burger and was asked what cheese he wanted.

I went for a birthday meal and we enjoyed the experience all around. The food is fresh and flavorful with real Mediterranean influence you can tell the recipes are rooted in tradition and made with care. The menu has a great variety of Turkish, Greek, and Italian influenced dishes, from kebabs and mezze to hearty entrees, and everything we tried was seasoned well and beautifully presented. Service was lovely from start to finish. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere feels comfortable and a bit elevated at the same time. It's a cozy place that works for a casual lunch, date night, or business dinner. One of the best parts of dining here is that Gastonia gets Mediterranean cuisine done well without having to go into Charlotte. Portions are generous and worth the price, and the wine and drink options pair nicely with the menu. Reservations are a good idea on weekend nights because it does get busy. I'd definitely return to try even more from the menu.

The ambiance is nice, slightly elevated, pretty quiet and cozy. I love the aesthetic and I love that it's not too noisy. Our waiter was friendly and comical and made our experience fun. There is plenty if parking behind the restaurant so no worries there either. Will definitely check this place out again and will bring friends!

They used to have a sign that said "No WiFi, talk to each other," But didn't see it this time around. Anyways, Linebergers is a great spot to eat at if you are looking for some good food in the Lake Norman-Mooresville area. This is a fairly casual steakhouse, so if you don't dress up you won't be the odd ball in the room, but you certainly have a choice. Every server is fantastic. They are friendly, they treat you like family, and are quick. To my knowledge, almost every entree comes with a trip to the salad bar. They have the BEST salad bar. DO NOT SKIP ON THE SALAD BAR! They also give you warm rolls with "Texas Roadhouse style" honey butter to start. I highly recommend the prime rib as an entree. Don't get me wrong, it's not the absolute best prime rib I have ever had, but it is up there. It has great flavor, is seasoned well, and is tender. Their creamy horseradish is just ok, but that does not ruin the quality of the meat. The last couple of times they put chopped onions in my mac-and-cheese, which was weird and didn't taste good at all, but luckily this time there were no chopped onions. Both my older and younger cousins got the mac-and-cheese also, and one said that the cheese was too bland, while the other said that the cheese was too strong (sharp). Me personally I think that it is on the more bland side, so Linebergers can take that advice and apply it into their recipe, but nonetheless it is still good. They have the best dessert called the "Lake Norman Mudd Pie," which is essentially a layer of vanilla, coffee, and chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, and Oreo pieces. It is a good treat to have every once in a while, but is rich!! But, if you want a sweet treat, I would recommend opting for that. As a summary, the hospitality at Linebergers is unbeatable and has some pretty solid food (don't forget about the incredible salad bar). Once again, if you are in the area, do not miss out. Head to Linebergers! You will not be disappointed.

In a way he seemed bothered to have a table. Chalked it up as maybe a bad night, but it didn't enhance our experience. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, and the pork belly itself was burnt and the peaches were mushy - almost baby food texture. A miss for us. The steaks, again, amazing, perfectly cooked - even my daughter's steak tips. The sides however, another miss. The kids fries were mushy, and tasted like they had been sitting out a while. My husband's mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant/from a box and lacked the bright white color or fluffy texture. My wedge salad was drenched in dressing, and the dressing itself was runny. It certainly wasn't what I anticipated for a steakhouse wedge. It seemed like a rushed after thought. The other part that was a letdown - every single plate we were handed was broken. Every single one. When you're paying steakhouse prices, I'd like to see presentable plates. One, sure I could see it slipped by, but every one? That's just laziness on replacing them in my opinion. I'll say it a third time, steaks were delicious...but the rest, well it was just lacking, and not sure the steaks hold their own to justify another trip.
