This good old fashioned home style cooking at its finest. This place is the essence of years long ago. A simple spot with simple food that is absolutely amazing. And, friendly and attentive wait staff. Want breakfast? This is the place to go in this area. And, they serve it from open to close. Their Hungry Man is quite the feast. I also enjoy the chicken and waffles as well as the country fried steak! Lunch is very good too. I love the burgers and dogs. They are not participating in COVID. :-). Just south of the North Carolina / South Carolina border, this breezeblock building is quite unassuming from the front. The parking lot is not paved and the signage is... interesting. Get past that and get inside. I was warmly greeted and a very friendly waitress took my order. She apologized that it would take a bit for my meal to be ready as they were just getting a big lunch order into the kitchen. My omelet did take about 15 minutes to be prepared and brought to me but it was worth it. Large, well stuffed with onions and peppers and cheese and "Philly cheese steak" they were quite curious that I did not want any potatoes or toast with it. Pathetic for customer service. You are so busy you are turning your normal customers away that patronize your business all the time. You don't deserve your customers! You never turn away customers! Ever! That's a slap in the face to a customer. You should explain it will be a wait and then let the customer choose if they are ok with that, but to tell them you are not accepting orders is a poor customer service. Just went there at 12:30. The sign on the door which l got a picture of before this blonde lady.. we will call her the grinch Karen ripped it down, says closing at 1:00! She unlocks the door and tells me all they have is burger and fries left. Okay good that's what my son is wants to eat. She locked us back out and said she would ask the cook. Cook came out and said he will not feed us anything because they closed early. With the sign still on the door that says 1:00. That's when the lady went to rip it down because they know good and well they are wrong. Customer service is what brings people to restaurants.. not just the food and that customer service was the worse I have ever experienced. Like merry Christmas. RUDE and absolutely uncalled for. It would have been different if those two employees would have had a little more respect and consideration with their choice of words and actions. Unbelievable. And because they wouldnt feed us and she saw me taking a picture of their false advertisement... she told us to never come back. I would love to speak to the owner as we have never had a problem there but I also have never seen this woman before. Wow! I have never experienced the treatment that I did today at a restaurant. The owner is extremely rude to not only her staff but her customers. I ordered off of the menus provided and did not receive part of my order. A portion of my order was not received because I told them I did not want it wasted and it wouldn't be eaten, another portion was forgotten and left off (a pancake). When I went to the counter I let the owner who was working the register know and she was very rude and argued with me about my order and was also very nasty to her waiters as to why they didn't tell her. I tried explaining that if she would give me the menu, I would show her the "special" that I actually ended up getting after it was all said and done. She agreed to take $1 off for the pancake I didn't receive but was hateful and making a scene while doing so. At the end of the day, her attitude was the problem, not a couple of dollars, BUT then the OWNER has the nerve to tell me that the prices on the menu were not correct because they have been updated. I said well mam these are the menus you are giving your customer when they order their food. She flipped over the menu and said she had the right to go up on prices because she hadn't went up in 5 years and hadn't had time to get new menus and pointed to a sentence that said "prices are subject to change without notice". I told her that I have no issue with her going up on prices and she 100% has the right to do that, HOWEVER the customer ordering the food also has the right to know what price they are being charged BEFOREHAND. You can't just charge whatever you want when the customer comes to pay and you are knowingly handing out menus that say a different price. It wasn't one menu or one mistake. Then menus have not been updated according to her. I'm literally flabbergasted. Not only was she not going to fix the price to the food I actually ended up receiving but she charged me even more than the menu items showed for the meal I didn't receive. I was ready to go and felt horrible for the wait staff, so I told her to just put whatever on the check and I would pay it so I could leave. I left a nice tip for both wait staff members and I think the owner about fell in the floor and replied with "your leaving how much"because I made sure the wait staff standing beside her heard me and knew to split it because I didn't believe that she would have even given to them. That's the level of greed and hate I was dealing with. Again, this isn't about $3 -$4 extra dollars or whatever amount she ended up charging me because I didn't get a copy of the receipt, it's about being a decent human being and treating the people who support your business fairly. She lost multiple customers for life today all over a $2 pancake. It shows why there is so much turn over at this so called business, I will NEVER eat here again and I feel for anyone whoever works for her. read more

Tried this little spot based on the good ratings. I will probably not be back. The place did not feel very clean and the food was mediocre. The service wasn't great, and I was looking forward to trying their biscuits. I ordered a biscuit with my meal and the waitress told me they may be out of them and gave me toast instead. I saw a few other people that ordered after me get meals with biscuits. When I was done eating my meal and about to checkout, I heard the guy in the back yell, "we are sold out of biscuits." Seems to me like the waitress just didn't want to give me a biscuit when I ordered, so they could save the limited quantity they had left. I would not get water to drink unless you don't mind some black specs floating around your cup. The prices were reasonable but next time I will just go to Waffle House. read more

By far the best breakfast I've had in many years, amazing price to portion ratio. I ordered the hungry man breakfast, and when I say it was a lot of food I mean that I'm pretty sure the original idea for this item was one of those "if you eat the whole thing your meal is free" but decided to not go through with the challenge. The eggs were perfectly cooked. Bacon crispy but no where near burnt. Sausage patties had the best seasonings. Ham, I'm not a ham person but with how good everything else was I gave it a try and I was completely surprised with how good it was. I still gave it to my wife because I knew she would enjoy it more. The home fries were so good, especially with gravy and biscuit, both of which were exceptional. But then, the final piece of the meal. The true test if a breakfast place is any good. At least in my opinion anyway. The pancakes. It came with melted butter that I poured on top and it just soaked right into them. The syrup is just a basic average syrup but still good. The first bite was magical and it practically melted in my mouth.
