I ordered a Hamburger Steak plate with fried onions, which came with fries, texas toast, and coleslaw. In the area for a soccer game so afterwards about a dozen of us went here for lunch. It's a popular local spot known for their hamburgers. I ordered a cheeseburger with tater tots. I got the cheeseburger which was just OK but rather than tater tots, I got french fries. read more

Stopped in town for a softball tournament, this place was close to our air bnb so we gave it a shot. It was a great choice! I had the grilled burger and fries. It was delicious. As a previous reviewer mentioned, that ice was icing! ;) Will make a return trip if back in town. read more

It still drives me up a wall that the best burger in Charlotte isn't even in Charlotte; it's all the way over here with the Grilled Cheeseburger with chili. It's probably best for my health, though. The bread is toasted just right, and the chili and burger are flavorful enough that they could stand on their own. If you don't like chili, I still recommend adding it. I don't like chili much either, but this stuff is nuts. If ice happens to be important, Eagle's Nest uses the crushed ice that's real soft, not cubed ice. Service is fast in this little diner, and it's a small enough clientele that showing up often will get them to remember you. One note: a walker or wheelchair is doable here, but it won't be easy. We went here last night for dinner. I forget how expensive and poor the food is. First of all we ordered 2 burgers and 2 waters. We then discovered that the buyers are a la carte. This would not be an issue except the burgers are $8 each. When the food arrived the waitress brought the two burgers out in paper trays and stacked one tray on top of the other where the bottom of the trey of one was sitting on top of the burger in the other trey. The burgers I would call grey unidentifiable meat. Something you would find in a 80's bowling alley. The onions were heated not grilled like the menu says. Then when checking out the total bill was over $18. I'm not sure how this place stays busy. A small dinner like this you would expect better food and more of a meal then just a la carte. read more

They have a bacon pimento that my son loves on their burger. With the curbside service they are offering because of COVID, it feels like a trip back to the 50's. Just need some roller skates!! First, this is a small town, locally owned, diner. It's not where you're going to go for a 5 course meal, but if you are in the mood for a great burger, there's are great. Eagle's Nest is a fantastic eatery in little Clover!! When we moved to the area, a bit over 5yrs ago now, Eagle's Nest was one of the first places we ate out at. A true local eatery with the best and most friendly staff no matter how busy they may get! You can find something for about anyone. My absolute favorite thing to order might just be their blackberry cobbler though!!! My goodness is it delicious! Even if you don't have room to eat it after your meal it's great to take home for later!! I will order one to go every time we go there. I absolutely love that they keep this on their menu! read more

This place has definitely been around for quite some time.. The food is decent - nothing special to write home about, but better than any fast food options in the area! Prices are still very low, and the staff are super friendly (and nothing takes too long to get). I have tried the burger before (so has the hubby), and this last time I tried the BLT (just white bread and a pretty basic blt, but still tasty), and the hubby got one of their chicken sandwiches. We pop in every once and a while (mostly when we didn't make plans for lunch, elsewhere), but it is pretty standard, and we haven't had anything bad there.. Again, just nothing special (which is why I gave it the 3 star "OK" rating). They are still blocking off every other table for COVID precautions, which was nice to see! Being born in 75, I was transported to a place and time close to my birth. While it may have been around a long time, it has aged well. What about that other star? Well...the fries. They were a bit on the soggy side. Perhaps turn that grease temp up a notch, make them crispy. Other than that, service is great, people are nice, bathroom is clean and smells nice. Be prepared for that back home crowd of regulars type of ambience replete with news paper clipping clad table tops and cozy diy paint jobs. The food is typical American diner fare. I will say I have been impressed with all things fried. Would love to give five stars but checking out can be an absolute nightmare. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is amazing. The homemade desserts are out of this world. The Hubbs and I always order our dessert as soon as we get there, because we know they will disappear fast!! One of the things I like the most.... I can truly relax there. Very convenient location for us as we live less than a mile away. We occasionally order takeout and have never been disappointed. Even the prices seem reasonable when most stores and restaurants have recently raised prices tremendously. They did leave the requested added cheese off of a hotdog once, but made up for it by giving us the next hotdog free. My only tiny complaint is that their hotdog chili is just a tad bit spicier than I really enjoy. I used to eat there often in my younger years and didn't remember it being spicy.
