Ordered take out from this spot last week and it was great, pizza was good and the wings were well done (like we asked) only thing was we asked for blue cheese and received ranch. We decided to go back tonight and do pick up instead, we ordered a pizza, wings and a house salad. I walked in with my mask (as usual) and not one single person was wearing a mask. Very odd, and not very reassuring. We came home and opened up the food and the pizza was o.k this time, but the wings were under cooked and Luke warm and the house salad was absolutely terrible. The lettuce was brown, and it came with the large tomatoes, tiny chopped green and black olives and chopped Peperoncini with kens steakhouse blue cheese packaged as the dressing. I like Rays pizza not only is it NY style but it's perfectly cooked and not soggy. It's easy to order for pickup or dine in. Our favorite is the white pizza. Very flavorful and does not require anything else added to it. The garlic bread is also very good and I would say this is our go to place for authentic NY style. The prices are reasonable and the service is always good. A plus is they sell slices also and have small individual sizes as well. read more

Been eating at Rays for a long time, scattered between this location and a couple closer to the house. Last Friday, online ordered an XL cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks at 4:00PM for 5:45 pick up on my way home from work. Received multiple text messages that my order would be ready on time, including one at 5:40PM as I was pulling into the parking lot. At 5:46 the extremely unfriendly and rude young female at the counter said my order wasn't ready yet, and it would be about 5 more minutes. At 6:03 my order was ready. The pizza was good as always, but the mozzarella sticks were soggy and gross, like they had been sitting in grease and tasted funky. Marinara tasted kind of weird too. By this time I am home, 20 minutes away, no point in going back especially if I'm going to deal with unfriendly people with no customer service skills. Plus, NOBODY was wearing a mask, except for me. We wanted to try a local pizza place instead of a chain and came across Ray's Pizza on Yelp and it had really good reviews. We placed an order in person so we can get the feel of the restaurant. It is a sit down restaurant and has a classic New York feel to it. It really feels like you just walked off the street in New York into this place. We ordered a large meat pizza and some garlic knots. We went shopping at the grocery store in the plaza and came back in our pizza was ready. It was amazing. Worst customer service I've had in a long time. Walked in to the place to order just 4 slices of cheese pizza. We sat at the table (very patiently) as they were busy with phone orders. After an hour, I went up to kindly as if our slices were ready. "Another 5 minutes". No apology AT ALL. NOTHING. We then asked to get our money back because the wait was so long. The boy at the counter opened the register and threw some cash at me like I was a complete nuisance. We got to the car and I realized he only gave me back $ for the order not the tip. If you haven't yet had stromboli; it is akin to an giant Italian turnover, (see the photo I posted), filled with the ingredients of your choice. I'm a meat aficionado so I order mine with sausage, meatball, Philly cheesesteak, mozzarella cheese, jalapenos and garlic; covered in more garlic and a variety of Italian seasonings. Awesome! I always have enough left over for a couple of breakfasts, or a breakfast and a TV nosh. If you've had stromboli on Mulberry Street in Manhattan; or in Bensonhurst in Brooklyn; you won't be disappointed by the same at Famous Ray's on East Bell Road. Very disappointed. Was excited to try this place for the first time. Paid $31 for a large veggie pizza after leaving a $3 tip, now i wish i would not have. Got home to this sloppy mess. We needed a new pizza place. We also looked for reviews, and decided to try Rays on Bell and 7th st. What a disappointment.. Truly, a frozen pizza would have been better. Sauce had no flavor (and not enough) Same with the cheeze...Crust was not good. To make it edible, we had to crisp it up in a pan stovetop, add some more of our own sauce, that we had in the pantry, and were able to somewhat enjoy it. Go somewhere else. Honestly I looked on yelp tonight for a good pizza shop, tonight I stumbled upon rays. I'm actually quite disappointed since this place had such great reviews. To put it short the only good thing I liked about it was the fact yelp showed it was open until 10:30. However that was also not the case. I'm not sure if they changed the hours recently but after picking up the pie a little under an hour before closing time they had closed shop. As for the pie I can't call it NY style let alone gourmet. The crust tasted over cooked for NY style and lacked spice, it was relatable to papa johns. As for the cheese it was the most flavorful aspect of the pie. The pepperoni could've had more taste, tasted like it wasn't fresh. The sauce surprisingly enough was the worst part. It was reminiscent of spaghetti sauce. It had no differentiating factors from general pizza companies. The customer service was subpar they were slightly nice in person but over the phone it was cold and felt like an uncomfortable call with an ex where you said you wanted your hoodie back. read more
