LOVE that they have strong WiFi, and DOUBLE LOVE for their taster sets (4 or 6) for affordable prices! We came here during our road trip from CA to OR, and Eugene was our final stop for the trip. Yelp directed us here, since we didn't want to have a family dinner in a college-y part of town. Bless the OR gods for their brewery smarts, because Falling Sky was one of the best breweries we've been on this trip. Their red ale was delicious, as well as their hoppy IPAs! We loved that they served food too! We cleaned all of our plates and everyone was extremely satisfied with the food. If you're from out of town like us, come here and feel the food feed your soul. I loved the veggie patty (not gross and frozen like many restaurants) and my sister really loved her Po Boy! Their salad (side choice) is light and drizzled with balsamic, so get it if you want something light. There is self-serve water, and the vibes here are small-spaced but chill and relaxed. Service here was quick and patient (our family stood in front of the ordering sign for eons and the cashier didn't scowl at us or anything). Previous yelpers have said that this place was family-friendly, so that was a big selling point for us. They have long dining hall tables (communal) that work well with their ambiance, and we noticed a variety of people from students to date night couples and single people eating/drinking here. We got in here right before it was super busy i.e. no line. We ordered at the counter, grabbed our number and sat down. I ordered the shrimp and grits with sausage and stewed tomatoes. It took about 20 minutes as there was a previous rush that they were catching up on. Only problem? When I got my shrimp/grits the shrimp was not there. So, I got to wait another 10 minutes for them to fix that. In the meantime, most unfortunately for us, we had a show to get to. Once I got my food the 2nd time I basically had to scarf it down so not so enjoyable. On top of that, the shrimp were not that great, medium sized, and not broiled, basically boiled and buried under the tomatoes. I don't recommend unless you like boiled shrimp with your grits. Hubby had a pulled pork sandwich but it was not quite warm, almost like it was microwaved so it was warm in some spots and not in others? The IPA was great and so was my Cooper Mountain pinot noir. Really hipster brewery closeish to the University of Oregon. They had really good beer options that they brew themselves - my friend and I tried a bunch and enjoyed all of them. Also had one of their burgers. The meat was nice and juicy and I liked the brioche bun it was served with. The fries could've been crispier as some of the bigger pieces were a little soggy. A cool, hip, and unique place. If you don't know what you're doing (a first timer like me) you definitely feel out of place and very lost when ordering. But that passes quickly. I suggested this place for date night because I saw that they had poutine and I have been craving poutine since we had it in Canada a year ago! Their poutine was good, but of course doesn't beat any I had in Canada It satisfies the poutine craving! Loved the fries. They were so good. I had a burger which was also very good! We both tried the bark beer, which the guy taking our order told us is like a root beer. It is definitely NOT like a root beer. I still liked it though, husband did not. It's definitely different. I know this is a brewery but neither of us were in a beer mood so we actually didn't try any of the beer. Maybe next time! Overall I definitely enjoyed the food. This evening my wife, best friend, his wife and I stopped by this location for dinner. We had been driving all day from Northern California on our way to Canada and wanted something substantial but fun for dinner. This place was it! I enjoyed a custom burger with Cajun spiced fries. My wife enjoyed mini tacos. My best friend had a pulled pork sandwich and his wife enjoyed a fish sandwich. Let me tell you...DELICIOUS! We also enjoyed pilsners and IPAs. They were great. The young lady that greeted us and took our order was gracious and friendly. Smiled the whole time. The young man behind the grill prepared our food and it came out looking great! All in all this was a great experience. Don't let the fact that they are located in an alley discourage you. The place was neat, clean and inviting with parking right in front. Came in with friends before the Ducks game. Easy place to visit, as you order at the counter and then they bring you your food (or pour your beer). I had the Turkey sandwich that came with au jus. It was VERY tasty and delicious. I also tried the lemonade (so-so) and the brewed root beer (also quite delicious). So they definitely have good food and beverage. As far as slight criticism, the bathroom was a little messy and dark (realize bar bathrooms are hard to keep up), and the applesauce side I had wasn't as great as I had in my mind (tasted a little off). This was my go-to brew pub a few years ago before new owners came in. It was great for affordable beer and fantastic Reuben sandwiches and burgers. They had fun fermented veggies and great sides. New ownership has done a better job with marketing but there is a dramatic drop in quality of food and ingredients. Beer is worse. Burgers overcooked and meat lower quality. Fried fish is gummy. We came here on a Friday night at 7:15 excited about what we read in the reviews. An hour and 20 minutes in I asked where the food was the gentleman said we were we told everybody that it's a very long wait which we never would have waited that long. two hours and we finally got our food the burger was good definitely not worth a two hour wait for a burger and fries please do not come here unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands. Also...more egregious than the insanely long wait for the burger was the gaslighting on the part of the manager, who asked me not to "have an attitude "when I asked about receiving our meal after an hour and 45 minutes. What a great find! We wanted to try a new spot out for dinner and we found Falling Sky on Yelp. It has a nice casual setting, the food was good and we enjoyed tasting the brews. You've gotta try the different fry concoctions they have - topped with pastrami, bbq pork or poutine - they were all great! My favorite was the pastrami cheese fries. And the beef dip sandwich was yum too. I wasn't too thrilled with their ketchup that they make in house. It's a little too sweet for my taste. And my son had the bbq pork sandwich which was real sweet too - he wasn't a fan. But be sure to order a flight and try a few different types of beers. That's the way to go. Great beer, but strange atmosphere. This location is in downtown Eugene in an alley. The beer selection is great and the beer is very good. Just disappointed with the venue. Your greeted with a thesis statement on Covid-19 mask protocols plastered on the door. Which is great, but why not just "Mask Required" like all the other stores, breweries and restaurants. I may of visited on an off day. Service was OK, taproom lady was not friendly, which was a theme in Eugene. Went to sit down and it was like hanging out in a cemetery. No music... nothing, total silence, with the occasional siren or car exhaust bellowing through out the facility. Very strange. I know these places are struggling to stay open, but just like any business you need to pivot to survive. I can say the beer was excellent! The food looked just as good as well. A great brewpub/restaurant that I would run, not walk, back to next time I'm in Eugene. I loved the beers I tried, although I can't remember their names, and the food was some of the best pub food I've had in a long, long time. The Oregon Coast shrimp cake sandwich with vegetarian poutine was AWESOME. We also had a homemade veggie burger, so so good, and a salad. The food was insanely good... like really really good! The one thing about this place was the price point. It was a bit high, and for 4 of us to have drinks and lunch it was over 100$, that was with 2 kids eating. But, overall, an awesome experience in downtown, with a parking lot! read more

Falling Sky used to be great. I think they got tired or something. We came on a Friday night, and though it was summer and the air was clear (no wildfire smoke), the place was empty. The menu is a shell of its former self - greatly stripped down, mostly just burgers. Gone are the interesting sides, poutine, and deli meats. The beer is still good, but honestly good beer is easy to find in Eugene. We got a pulled pork sandwich and a fried fish sandwich. The pork was only barely warm, and it was rather bland. The fish was mediocre, a little fishy tasting (in the unpleasant way) but otherwise unremarkable. The caesar salad was quite decent, so that helped. We ate in the outside patio, which had a faint but pervasive smell of gasoline - which strangely was not present in the parking area, so I don't think it was the cars. We might give Blair location another try, but we won't be back here anytime soon. read more

This brewery was EXACTLY what I was looking for - relaxed and laid back vibes with an extensive (and delicious) beer menu, and some hot and quick lunch bites. You could sit there and lounge all day with a few drinks, or stop in for a quick break; this place accommodates everyone on every adventure. We loved it here! We went on a Tuesday night and there were a decent amount of people there. There is plenty of seating. Most of it is bench seating. We got the Back Alley Burger, Oregon Cheese Steak, and Pork Belly Cheese Fries. All of it was amazing the only complaint we had was that the steak in the Cheese Steak could have been better quality. I was traveling to Portland on MLK day and stopped in Eugene for lunch. I came here due to Yelp reviews. First it's pretty nondescript in decor. A long room with rows of long tables. But I think, okay, college town. This would work for large parties and weekend beer bashes. Whatever, I'm just hungry. Ordered a burger at the counter. The order taker said they cooked all their burgers medium rare and was that okay. I almost told her to make it medium, but I was so hungry I didn't say anything but "okay". The food took quite a while to come out of the kitchen, yet the restaurant was pretty empty. I think there were 4 other people there. The food arrives and the burger is not undercooked as feared, but over cooked. It's on the "well" side of medium well. And salty! OMG! I had bites that were so loaded with sodium I could barely swallow them. The fries were unevenly cooked. They were cut in too many sizes and of course some burned and some just took on grease and went limp because they didn't get cooked enough. This is rather "cooking 101". Objects of different sizes cook at different speeds. The salt that should have been on the fries was apparently diverted to the burger as there was none them. Anyway, I left most of the food on the plate. No one ever asked me if anything was okay. I left still hungry and baffled at the good Yelp reviews. Maybe they just have awesome beer? Maybe the food tastes better after multiple beers? Maybe I hit a really off day? I dunno, but it really was terrible. Sorry Falling Sky. I don't like giving bad reviews like this. read more

And if you love good house cured meats (I'm in love with their corned beef & get it on their house made sour dough) hit the Deli location near the Whitaker district, this review is for the pub. The beers are off the hook and are brewed "on point" to style with a PNW accent. You'll find a great range of styles to choose from according to your mood. Try a flight (or 2), or split with a friend if you can't make up your mind because all of the beers shine on their own and why not have as many as you can in a session when the quality is exceptional? Now I must speak of the amazing fries: poutine, cheese, pastrami--they're all fantastic; cooked to perfection and if the chef knows what they're doing the curds on the poutine will be melted to perfection. The vegan gravy on these is also addictive. Their house made ketchup is out of this world and the house made pub-sauce & deli mustard, quite respectable as well. Had their brunch and very worth it--their hash is fab & house made biscuits and gravy--comfort food perfection. Truthfully I've never had anything bad here and if you feel that there's something worth mentioning about your food to server/manager, do--they will happily make your experience worth while. A word of caution--on weekends this place can get quite busy and a bit noisy--so if you don't mind a "hopping" environment to hang with friends, this is a great idea. During the day it's usually perfect for computer work, reading a book with a cup of soup & beer or meeting friends for lunch. Kids are very welcome and there is a game cabinet to keep them entertained. Specials on biking to pub (check it out) and also they have a "happy" menu between 3 & 6pm i believe--see pub for details.
