Chicken shawarma with rice and hummus
    Paul G.

Tried it out while I was in town and it was decent. Food was tasty, but hummus was spicier than usual. Ladies in the back running the shop were nice and prompt cooking and ringing up while one of their sons served the food and picked up dishes after. Place was a bit small, but food was great.

this is supposed to be a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich with hummus for an up charge (came with no hummus and 5 pieces of bland chicken)

for starters, upon arrival we were told that we shouldn't order through a delivery service again because it charges the business, unprofessional to bring up to a customer. Then comes the food... Completely bland, little to no flavor besides greasy vegetables and garlic. Beef kebab was unseasoned and tough, hummus wasn't even as good as walmart brand, tabbouli genuinely had no flavor whatsoever. grape leaves were the worst and greasiest i've ever had. Chicken Shawarma sandwich came with no hummus that i paid extra for and came in a shambolic state. DO NOT EAT HERE

Great middle eastern food. I had the chicken Sherman wrap and it was great. I didn't see Kibbe on the menu but asked and the lady with a big smile asked how many pieces. I said two and got kibbe. My friend had the sampler plate. It was good oh and there hummus very good also. Hidden gem kinda small but good. And very friendly definitely family owned.

This meal was DELISH!!! They cooked the food right in front of me with fresh ingredients, and this meal was as healthy as it was filling. The owners of the restaurant could not have been kinder, and the service was quick and friendly. The chicken was seasoned well along with the veggies and rice, and the hummus and garlic paste were bursting with flavor, and the pita bread which was served with the meal complimented all the bold flavors perfectly. The interior of the restaurant was authentic and charming and I truly felt relaxed and at home. I plan to go back SOON!!! Great meal. Great spot. (Also, there is a discount offered for those who pay in cash.)

We just tried this hole in the wall Greek resturant. So good!!!!!!!!!! Everything is made here and the ladies that run it are straight from My Big Fat Greek Wedding!!! They were so kind and funny.

The vegetarian platter with hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel grape leaves and tabbouleh.

Long waits are common for this spot. The interior is the old Ice Plant so it has great character. Not super large so limited dining spots within. Very high ceilings and though there were plenty of diners, it was overly loud. Great spot to enjoy the company you are with! Our server was top notch, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly but not trying to monopolize our table talk. We started with Cocktails which were all great. I went classic Old Fashioned, presentation AND taste were on point. We split the Crab Beignets order of 4. The breading on them was light and fluffy, the Crab tasty and they were cooked appropriately, no burns or underdone spots. For our main course, we elected to split 2 of the specials of the day so they may not be there when you go, but judging by the quality of the specials, any dish would be great. We had the Caesar Salad (which is like calling the Queen Mary2 a "boat"!). It is next level, 7 minute eggs, homemade croutons, Anchovie forward, all good! We also split an order of Shrimp Cake Sliders. These were huge, and the slaw that accompanied was the perfect match to the shrimp without overwhelming them. For dessert we settled on the Pineapple cake which also had coconut and all kinds of wonderful flavors going on! A really outstanding meal from beginning to end!

The Ice Plant location was historically St. Augustine's first power and ice complex. Now the building has been revitalized and has The Ice Plant and The St. Augustine Distillery. The St. Augustine Distillery is connected to The Ice Plant and is a great tour to check out right before heading to grab food at the restaurant. There are a variety of guided and self-guided tours. My spouse and I checked out the self-guided tour right before we grabbed dinner at The Ice Plant. The tour isn't particularly long but was filled with information. After the tour, we headed upstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant feels really spacious with its super tall ceilings. There was lots to look at reminding us of the previous use of the building. We ordered the hand cut fries, strawberry and beet salad, and the gochujang marinated pork chop. I also ordered a few of their drinks, each one featuring different types of ice to fit the drink. Honestly all the food and the drinks were so good, but the easy standout of the night for both my spouse and I were the pork chops. These might have been the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. The pork chops were incredibly tender and juicy, not dry at all. I was expecting it to be a little dry, as I feel like pork chop can sometimes get overcooked, but no. These were so juicy and tender. I asked our server how the pork chop was cooked. Our server said that the pork chops were cooked sous vide, which makes a lot of sense as to how they were so tender. I've already told my spouse if we are in the St. Augustine area again, I would make a special trip just to get these pork chops again, they were that good. I really enjoyed this restaurant. This was my favorite spot we checked out in the St. Augustine area, if you are ever passing by the area, check The Ice Plant out!

I specially requested a dill sauce on the side, there was nowhere to add on so I was not sure if I would get it or not because there was nowhere way to charge. Everything was prepared fresh and my dinner was so tasty and flavorful. I even got the dill which tasted like it was prepared in house. Tasty! (The DoorDash driver was very polite and communicative as well, I added an extra $10 tip as DD sent two drivers and there was all this confusion, plus I added a frozen Coke from McDonalds. Sheesh..I really like those things). I don't very often get gyro (lamb) because usually when I do, I find it's never seasoned properly or it just seems like it's dry or artificial..like something is just...well, off. I was on the fence staring at the menu between 2 things for what felt like 45 minutes (in reality it probably was 10 but I was having physical hunger + head hunger so yeah = 45 minutes. Anyway, I was thinking I was just going to get something that really can't be screwed up much. Greek salad with a chicken shish kebab ( I guess given the right person, it can be messed up lol) but I'm SO glad I chose what I did. The lamb gyro pita sandwich. Their chefs know what they're doing and it was truly authentic. Reminded me of the food I used to get from this little adorable authentic Greek restaurant when I was living back home in Buffalo that was owned by the sweetest older couple. They lived there but were born and raised and Greece. They used to show me and my kids pictures of how it was back home in Greece, we met their beautiful daughters who came to Buffalo for college (which is why they uprooted their existence..aww so sweet!) and shared their stories with us. We went there almost daily and my oldest daughter ended up working for them. This felt like it was many moons ago. Nevertheless, my sandwich was real, my pita was soft, pillowy, warm. I would really love to come there one day and dine in. Bodrum is pretty much right around the corner from me. I bet the owners and employees are all really nice! You can tell when love goes into food. I graduated from culinary school myself, about 20 years ago. Sometimes I enjoy something so much and I just think back on those days when I was a cook and miss it. Miss the joy that food used to bring people. The togetherness at that table your entrees brought. You just know! Thanks for a great meal last night, with love and kindness going into it. I just felt your restaurant needed recognition. It is special when a meal not only fills your belly but warms your heart. Sharon R.

It was so phenomenal and the chicken moist flavorful outstanding I cannot brag enough about how phenomenal that chicken dish was. Now let's talk about the vegetables. They were seasoned to perfection and cooked where they were still crunchy but yet they were soft enough that you didn't have to worry. The vegetables were outstanding and I wanted to get second helping on the vegetables they were that good! The pita bread looked to be homemade, but given it was Passover I was not able to try it. So long story short I'm coming back Friday night because that pita bread looked like it was in-house made and it looks so so good! I came in as a solo diner and was seated quickly, although my table was kind of nestled underneath the high outdoor bar. That meant hearing some of the bartender's phone conversations. I ordered a glass of Lebanese rose wine and liked it! But my meal wasn't impressive. The vegetarian grape leaves (one of my favorite dishes, generally) were OK, although several were split up on my plate (but hey, it happens). I thought the flavor was underwhelming; there was a lot of acidity but nothing else. I also ordered a side of "extra crispy seasoned potato fries" which just turned out to be generic crinkle fries with salt. Definitely wouldn't order those again. I thought maybe there would be some sort of twist on them? The big frustration was service. The restaurant was far from full when I went -- I counted maybe a dozen seated tables. After I finished eating, I spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my waiter's attention to get my check even as I sat with my plates pushed away, glasses empty, and credit card out. He walked by multiple times to wait on and check with other tables, and I saw at least five other employees working in the front of house and walking by me. Even when I got his attention for the check, it took quite a few minutes to get it, despite him walking out to other tables. (Although I will note he seemed busier than the other employees!) My check before tip came to $24, which felt on the pricey side for what I got. I hope I'm wrong, but I got the vibe that I wasn't exactly their favorite type of guest -- a solo diner who wasn't smoking hookah. (I noticed another solo non-smoker go similarly unnoticed by staff.) Maybe they heavily favor regulars, too. But they weren't at capacity, and I'd have gotten out quicker had I been able to pay. Maybe it was just an off night. But it's just not a great feeling to be ignored.
