I haven't eaten here, but my kids have, and I am rating this restaurant on their experience, and how the management handled a request from me. My son and daughter-in-law celebrated their anniversary here recently, and, I called the restaurant to help me out with a gift idea. I was able to pay for part of their bill, and because I had mentioned that it was an anniversary meal, the staff made sure the experience was memorable with special additions to their chosen menu items. My kids were more than pleased, and said several times how special the whole experience was. While this review a five star rating, it's not completely accurate at defining the experience we had at Fait Maison. The service, the quality of the food, and the unique creativity from Chef Olivier should allow for a six star rating. It was that memorable! First, you're welcomed and greeted by some of the nicest staff you'll ever come encounter. Prior to making the reservation, we called up to the restaurant and explained that we had a vegan joining us. Since there wasn't anything vegan specifically listed on the menu, the maître d' assured us that the chef would have something prepared for that evening since we called ahead. The vegan dish, a beautiful mix of three different sauces made from vegetables, along with the other vegan-centric dishes prepared, were treated with such care and flavor. My wife had some amazing dishes from the menu, with the chestnut soup highlighted as one of the best dishes we tasted. All in all, this restaurant stood out to us as something that isn't offered anywhere in the Edmond area. You have to go to places like New York City or San Francisco to find this type of quality. What a delightful evening! I am so excited to have a wonderful French restaurant in the OKC metro. The ambiance is beautiful and romantic. I love that they take their time serving you and let you enjoy wonderful food and conversation just like traditional European style. We were with a party of three and each had a different dish. I had the lobster- already shelled for you and the champagne sauce was light a buttery which complimented the main course nicely. My husband had the fillet- the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. While typically he would not add a sauce with his steak, the sauce that accompanied the fillet was phenomenal. Our friend had the duck. Cooked medium rare as it should be was lightly seasoned and the flavour of the meat stood out. In addition we had wine with our meal that the sommelier made sure our glass was never empty. Lastly we had the creme brûlée with berries and the crip praline chocolate cake. The creme brûlée was smooth and flavorful. The cake was very rich and decadent. In its simplest form, it resembled a dark chocolate kit kat. (Which is wonderful.) Lastly, we had the honor of meeting Susan the owner. She delighted us in conversation and shared her story of how the restaurant came to be. I went to Fait Maison for the first time the other night and after hearing SO MANY WONDERFUL things about it, I'm glad I finally got to experience it for myself! The host, James, greeted us at the door with a very authentic "Bonsoir!" and showed us to our table. Walking into the restaurant was like walking into a dream. The lavish decor and quiet ambience made you feel like you were no longer in a small town of Oklahoma but in an upscale, classy establishment. Our server, Larry, was most helpful with the menu. He made wonderful recommendations with the wine menu and when taking our food order, would answer with a very respectable "very good" and "excellent choice," rather than a typical "okay" or "anything else." As someone who also works in food service, I appreciate little details like that. He, along with Michelle, James, and Luke, were very attentive and delivered wonderful service when bringing our food and clearing our plates. The whole staff, including the owners, Susan and Chef Olivier, were most welcoming and friendly, which really elevated my experience at this GEM of an establishment. Food: The meal started with a creamy butternut squash soup with Swiss cheese mousse, followed by freshly baked bread (all made in house and to die for!) and amuse bouche consisting of olives, brie, and toast with caramelized onions. Our appetizers consisted of escargot baked in garlic and parsley butter and seared foie gras served with port wine sauce, dates, and white onion compote. Our main courses consisted of the seared duck breast in a honey and lime sauce with candied fruits and vegetables and the pheasant breast slow roasted in truffle butter and served with artichokes, Brussels Sprouts and squash in a sherry cream sauce. We also ordered a side of creamy risotto with Parmesan cheese, ratatouille, and mashed potatoes. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. I wasn't unhappy with anything! Drinks and dessert: I had a French Connection cocktail to start (delicious) and we also ordered a bottle of the Mercurey by Louis Jadot (very balanced Pinot noir) to enjoy with our meal. We didn't order any dessert but were given a complimentary pair of olive oil macarons, caramels, and coconut marshmallow bites. My wife and I have rarely been more disappointed. The restaurant itself is lovely, even opulent, belying its modest exterior, and the menu is diverse and enticing. But even though, when we arrived, we were only the second couple in the dining room, and few more were dining by the time that we left, the service though courteous was painfully slow, and worse, my wife's meal was cold when it finally did arrive - the ultimate no-no for a claimed high-end French restaurant. In fact, even after we reluctantly sent her entree back, it still returned cold. Mine was little better. In the end, the meal didn't come close to matching the elegance of the venue. Shane was spot on for making sure we were welcome and special. Alex knows so much about the wines! You must go to listen to him explain everything we tried. We have never had French food before. Wife and I came for our anniversary dinner a few days ago, really enjoyed it. Very nice atmosphere, relaxed and laid back for the most part but warm and romantic too. Not too stuffy is what I'm trying to say I guess:) Food was fantastic, service was awesome. We had duck, lamb, scallops, escargot, a couple of sides and dessert. In addition they bring bread, soup, some snacks and after dinner sweets. Come hungry...none of the portions are too large but all of it together makes a big meal. We never felt rushed at all. If you're looking for romantic high end dining, this is your place. The atmosphere is intimate and you'll be well taken care of throughout your meal. Understand that this is a slower dinning experience, so come prepared to settle in and socialize. They have some wonderful pre-meal cocktails to choose from and a great selection of appetizers. My wife and I tried the cheese board and Cesar salad, both were excellent. Let me take a moment to gush on the fresh baked bread, we had three options during our evening a French baguette, bacon potato, and red wine with raisin. They were all three amazing! Our main courses were the filet and duck. Both of which were delicious options and well presented. The glaze in the duck was perfect, and the filet paired well with their mashed potatoes. My husband and I went to Fait Maison for our anniversary, we were so impressed! The atmosphere was wonderful and they were practicing all the protocols for COVID. The floor-to-ceiling booths are intimate, beautiful and naturally social distance diners. The food was amazing, four kinds of house made bread and house made butter and yummy little appetizers. I had a pea tart for a starter with excellent pastry, fresh peas and ham, so good! I also had the chicken and mashed potatoes, the chicken was so tender, the best I've ever had. My husband had the steak and risotto, also excellent. They have a full bar and extensive wine list. Our server, Shane, was informative, very attentive and fun. WOW!! Enjoyed an incredible dinner there last night! This new restaurant is magnificent!! The ambiance is elegant- and the prices are not extreme. Hey first served the best mushroom soup I've ever tasted. Next we had their cheese platter. It was very good and more than enough. Next the Caesar salad was very good! Had their lamb as my entree- it was very tasty. Then the finale was the Crispy Pralines. That was some of the best food & desserts I've ever had! Their wine list is good. This is by far the most unusual dining experience I can recall, and not in a good way. The only reason I'm giving it two stars over one is because the staff was very attentive and friendly. The food itself is bizarre and at least of the small portion of the menu we sampled, there was nothing of note to make us return. We went on a Saturday night, when the place should have been filled. We were the only patrons for over an hour. Some of the decor is indicative of an upscale restaurant well other pieces are quite obviously from Hobby Lobby. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are treated like royalty. Beautifully decorated from floor to ceiling, very comfortable cozy seating options. We had a reservation,(a must), and were seated immediately. The service was excellent. They were professional, helpful, welcoming. We met the owner and enjoyed visiting with her. After we ordered the wine, our server brought us a plate of various bite-size appetizers, followed by a basket of freshly baked rolls, four varieties. We tried them all, amazingly good! Next came the soup, vichyssoise. Delicious! (all complimentary) Our entrees consisted of Seared Duck, Chicken Breast with Albuféra" sauce and Pheasant Breast. Everyone agreed, the entrees were five stars! Each course was brought out with enough time in between to savor each one. Sadly we did not have time to try the desserts but are definitely going back. My wife and I decided to give Fait Maison a try on a last minute whim. We didn't know exactly what to expect but left with ear to ear smiles. Simply put the food was elegant and deliciious and the service was exceptional. We tried a number of menu items including a mixed greens salad, seared scallops, duck, veal filet, ratatouille and two deserts. Everything was delicious with the scallops possibly the best I've ever eaten and perfectly matched with a beautiful sauce. The sauces, as you might expect from a fine French restaurant, stole the show on almost every dish even though the main dish was excellent. Unique and unexpected flavor combinations made the meal a truly memorable experience. And the bread, don't pass it up even if you're going keto. The praline and chocolate dessert left me googling for a recipe that I could attempt at home. At home? Just come back to Fait Maison. We walked out half expecting to see the lights of Paris.. oh its Edmond... maybe next time...and there definitely will be a next time. read more

My wife, sister in law and I were anxious to try this highly recommended new French restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, the service excellent and the food was disappointing. My wife had the duck with a poorly paired sauce. My sister-In-law had to he fillet with a nice sauce which she enjoyed. I had the rack of lamb with a watered down rather tasteless sauce. NONE of the entrees were hot - all were Luke warm. The complimentary cauliflower soup was also served on the cool side. The creme brulee was superb. This is some of the best food I've had in Oklahoma. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff is great. The food is AMAZING!! The escargot and foie gras was to die for! I tried the lobster and mushroom spaghetti roll bisque which was delicious. Dessert is a must everything is delicious especially the crème brûlée and the meting chocolate sphere! Our first visit to Fait Maison blew us away. From the moment you walk in the door, the service is exceptional! From checking your coat, properly seating the lady, and making certain that your visit is pleasant and you have everything you need. The starters were excellent. I had the Foie gras, the best ever. My wife had the lobster roll (imagine a fluffy lobster-flavored cloud with chunks of lobster). Fantastic! But before the starters, you are treated to a soup, compliments of the chef. Ours was butternut squash bisque. Then a sampling of olives and a small plate. My entree was the duck with an apple, turnip and celery gratin. My wife had lobster on a bed of vegetables in a butter sauce. Both delicious. My wife had chocolate lava cake for dessert. Me, I had the escargot appetizer. Wonderful way to end the meal. We dined in Fait Maison outdoor patio on one Sunday afternoon. We were very excited that they opened their patio back up. We wanted to have a nice relaxing evening after a long week. Sadly we found a hair in our food. We ordered Mussels with fries. After 3 bites we noticed the hair on the spoon before the next bite. It was either in the sauce or the Mussels. We confronted the waiters about it and they offered to make another dish but we were so grossed out we didn't want another one. You don't expect this unsanitary thing to happen in this type of restaurant especially when the chef/owner claims he worked a Michelin Star restaurants in France. The crazy thing about it is that we were the only customers on the patio and inside the restaurant that night. There is no excuse for such a disgusting mistake. The waiters attitude completely changed from friendly to being confrontational. After I emailed the owner she told me she would investigate and get back with me. Never did....crickets! No wonder everyone on that street goes to the other restaurants right next door to them because it is very unsetting. Pay hundreds of dollars in a bill and get a hair in the food with terrible attitudes. There is no way on earth this restaurant can stay open with this type of service and no customers ever and still stay in business. Don't waste your time and money. read more

We opted for the "tasting menu" which gives a small portion of several dishes. I was very glad we did, because there were many surprising combinations. The introduction included bites of traditionally sweet things turned savory, such as a bleu cheese macaron and sun-dried tomato madeleine. I loathe bleu cheese, but still really enjoyed the macaron. The pea soup with smoked bacon mousse was out of this world. Possibly my favorite course of the evening. The foie gras was very good, and the scallop and endive with orange were wonderful. The "pistachio" was one of the most interesting desserts I've ever had. The only downfall to the meal was the main entree. The duck was very tough and difficult to eat. There were several breads to choose from. The milk bread was pillow-soft and dreamy with just enough bacon to be flavorful without overpowering. The country bread had the chew and texture of a good European rustica. Additionally, the waiter was incredibly friendly with great recommendations. The host looked as though he'd rather be anywhere else. All in all it was a nice evening celebrating our graduate, and we are fortunate to have this place in the heart of Edmond. read more

We celebrated our anniversary here a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday evening at 5:30. The furnishings and decor are very nice and elegant. We were very excited to try the place and ordered several items off the menu, based partly off of the server's recommendations. We had the "Lobster Roll", the starter risotto, the duck breast and the crispy soft boiled egg. Everything tasted great and was also very well presented. The serving sizes are not the biggest (typical of French cuisine), but they make up for that in the incredible flavor AND by the little extras throughout the meal from the chef/pastry chef. For instance, they brought out a small bowl of asparagus soup with a mushroom foam for each of us, which was incredible. I am not a huge fan of asparagus but I was literally scraping the bowl with my spoon. They also brought out three types of bread, some olives, and some other small bites for us to try. We finished with the chocolate praline cake-again great presentation & flavor. They also brought us some chocolate truffles and other treats to try, compliments of the chef. We were incredibly pleased with our experience. We did not have a single bite of food left on any of our dishes and were discussing when we could get back here in the next few weeks to try some of the other items. I love French Cuisine! Fait Maison is a new French restaurant in Edmond that brought me back to the wonderful memories of the fabulous sauces and tastes I enjoyed in France many years ago. The atmosphere, service and food were well... perfect. I had given up on ever tasting French Onion Soup as I remembered it in Paris and Voila there it was tonight! Everything from that starter on was equally wonderful. And I must mention the finish with an amazing Crème Brulee and French press coffee. We will be frequent diners that's for certain.
