Mmmmmm Rubber Fish! What you see outside is not what you see inside. Outside: signs posted on doors, window paint glaring specials like a mexican fiesta or a soccer mom's minivan. Inside: quaint dining, nice bar, nice art on walls. So why the awful window paint? It gives a total misconception of what you're going to experience inside. So we went there for an early dinner and a martini or two. Started off "okay" with the Ahi Tuna appetizer. Of the 5 strips i received, only 2 were actually seared on the outside and nicely rare on the inside. The other 3 may as well have been cooked all the way through as they were not even close to rare. They did come with a nice mayo-ish sauce but was still paired with some very bland coleslaw. Sticking with seafood I got the Salmon. Mistake. I am almost positive that it was microwaved. It was not flaky, it was not pink, it was disgusting and super dry. The skin was wilted and had condensation on it, something you might see from a microwaved piece of fish. It did however come with some tasty wild rice and grilled asparagus. After I expressed that it was no good I was offered a new piece, but considering how things went so far I respectfully declined. So I paid $20 for a cup of rice and 4 pieces of asparagus... No thanks. UPDATE: I went there for breakfast. Mimosa's were delicious and cheap. Went on a Friday the perch is wonderful Ayce 19.99. one of my fellow diners said the tilapia was excellent. The ribs are also tasty.The chicken dumpling soup is always a good choice. This rating was based off of coming specifically for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday. The food was cold (I'm thinking maybe because their warmers don't heat well and I think they were not staying lit with the fire) and overall the food didn't have much flavor. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy don't have flavor and the gravy was very runny and didn't have much flavor either. Upon arrival we were told to sit whoever we we would like and the ladies going around to keep dirty dishes off the table were polite. It took the waitress awhile, about 20 minutes to bring any coffee and ask if if we wanted anything to drink but they were not busy and had customers at only 3 other tables. I would give them another try for their lunch or dinner but never for breakfast and never for their buffet again. I know of other restaurants that have good food overall but their buffers are not good. read more

Hubby & I have been wanting to try this place for awhile - finally made our way there on a Sunday for breakfast, What a disappointment! We opted for the breakfast buffet - they had your standard breakfast fare + quite a nice variety of mini-sweets, but the food was ok at best. The biscuits for the biscuits & gravy seemed a little hockey-puckish (in both appearance & texture)...I later observed heaping plates of food being microwaved (I'm guessing being reheated) and taken out to the buffet. Well, that explains that. Very disappointing to have paid nearly $30 for two adult breakfast buffets and from all appearances be served microwaved food. And let's talk about that price.....$3.29 for a cup of coffee? Maybe I don't eat out often enough, that just seems high to me - it's also higher than what their current online menu states. The service was pleasant, no complaints there. But just an observation - it seemed like a lot of staff was there doing a whole lot of nothing while (I'm assuming) the manager was hustling around & getting things done. Pretty good. If you go, you'll go back. Nice menu with quite a variety of items. Everything we tried was good. I wouldn't say great but certainly good. Mashed potatoes had way too much garlic. The chopped steak was good and the soups were very good. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was pretty good. The jambalaya was amazing!! Went to this place on a whim with my fiance and we were so happy we did. He got the bacon-wrapped pork chops which basically had no flavor - huge disappointment. The service was excellent, though. I got a cocktail - the berry one - and it tasted awful! Like berry-scented body spray. But, I talked to our waitress who was also a bartender(?) and she made a different drink for me which was one of the best I've ever tasted. Overall, I would go here again. read more

I always see their food on Facebook and thought 'that looks sooooooo good!' I will say, thought, that my lunchtime experience was not so good. Our server brought us waters and then left us for quite some time. Granted we were waiting for another person, once he got there we waited another 10-15 easily before she came back. May I add they were not busy. There were maybe 3 tables in the place. Another table came in and she was quick to get their drinks and bread and chatted with them for awhile, still ok, understandable. I'm assuming she knew them. Moving on, I order the tequila like chicken with no rice, and with asparagus instead of it. I am watching my carbs so I preferred to not have the rice around me. Not her fault I can't fight temptation. I got my food, and was disappointed that rice still came with it, but more disappointed that the chicken breast size was maybe half the size of what you see at other local joints, and there were 4 pieces of asparagus. I paid $13.99 for this meal and I understand their ingredients and produce are fresh but it wasn't worth it to me. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but not worth the price for the portion size. The side salad I got with my food had cucumbers in it, which I love, but they tasted metallic and bitter. I'm not deeming this an awful experience. It's just not for me and adding the spotty service to the mix drives me to stay away from here in the future. read more

We ate here on Father's Day and enjoyed it with a few exceptions. We brought our almost two year old and our 5 month old and could have used a bit better service. We waited for around 15 minutes for our bread to come out after we ordered our food while our toddler was pretty fussy and hungry. A quick grab of the bread basket could have helped us be less stressed. Also it seemed that the service was just as slow when they weren't as busy as when they were- we noticed that the waitress was helping fold napkins while we waited for our to-go box and check. Our food was fresh and satisfying but we both found our sides to need salt while the steak and fish were perfectly seasoned. Maybe two different cooks? The side salads had nicely diced veggies on top of unevenly cut lettuce. For the price we paid we expected better service and perfectly seasoned food. read more

We stopped to try it and I have to say costumer service was ok, my boyfriend order the bbq pull pork sandwich and I had bbq pull pork on a flatbread. The wait for the food was at least 15 mins while we were waiting the waitress offered us bread and butter, two small slices of bread. We went for lunch today, just hoping to grab a quick bite close to home with minimal wait....boy....did we luck out! This place just opened, staff is very friendly and the open atmosphere is great too. There is a bar and a restaurant. We just got sandwiches for lunch, and they were REALLY GOOD! I had a grilled veggie sammy with steamed broccoli and chicken noodle soup (home made) I am on Weight watchers, and it was w/in my plan! Garry had a grilled chicken wrapper with fries and soup. The fries were so crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside:) (mind you....the total was under $20) This is more reasonable then Panera Bread....and SO much better! The dinner menu looked great too, we will go back soon to try that out. Go and try them out and help them stay in business! read more

It's not the so so food. It's the service. We had a out of town guest and ordered over 120 worth of food. One complete order never arrived. The restaurant told me contact Grubhub. When I called Grubhub asking why some was missing. They told us when they picked up the food they asked where it was and if we were aware and the restaurant said just take the order for delivery. So I called the restaurant and was extremely disappointed that the girls response was it wasn't available. And I said you couldn't notify me? That was my guests order. And her flippant response was it was Grubhubs responsibility. How? They were the ones making the food not the delivery service. Shouldn't they notify us if there is a availability issue? We ended running to buy a fast food burger for our guest.. yuck.. very disappointed that this restaurant did not care at all. All we wanted was a phone call. I meet clients at restaurants and this one will not be on the list in the future. I understand its a pandemic but this was a simple fix. Came here for dinner with my family. Everyone tried something different from the menu. Pastas, sandwiches and the shrimp. It was alright. Very nice, clean restaurant. But the food was mediocre. I sent my Cajun chicken pasta back for the salmon which was actually pretty good. Based on reviews from around the table, the salmon was the best meal we received. Service was good. I've been to several buffet style restaurants for breakfast with my family and I'm never impressed. There is usually not much to choose from or the food is just OK. This place was pretty good though. I was scrolling on Facebook and this place popped up on my feed so we decided to give it a try. The price is great- about $10 for adults and $5 for kids. It's located inside a strip mall with a huge parking lot so no need to look for parking. You be thing I really did like was even though my husband got there before me and the kids they seated him, I've been to restaurants that would not seat us unless the whole party was there. The food was good and it's was plenty to choose from. My only suggestion would be to add turkey or veggie options for the meat, other than that I was happy with my experience. The staff was so friendly and the place was very clean and well kept. If I didn't live so far I'd make this a regular spot ( it's in Indiana and I stay in Chicago, it was about a 35 minute drive). read more

This has been our go to place for a couple of years. Wednesday night half price wine night. They have a great house Cabernet and killer fish tacos which were great again this evening. The cons: bread was extremely stale but didn't let it bother us. We're going to order the Rich Drunk which is a brownie based desert to go with the remainder of our Cab. In the past we had a poor experience with brownie being stale, hard as a rock. another time the desert was yummy. So we told our waitress if it is fresh we would like to order. She came back and said the brownee was baked Monday ( and this is Wednesday) so if we didn't want a two day old desert we should pass. Needless to say we passed. I love this place so much, not only are your eyes filled with the coolest decor but you walk-into the most amazing selection of opportunity for your culinary experience. Soon you place your order and then you're able to locate your desired location to dine. Downstairs has many multiple seating areas, the restaurant is filled with tributes and items used in a Fire Station. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and there is an elevator available for use to access the second floor and balcony. Each time that I dine at the Fire House I choose to dine upstairs. Upon entering the tin ceiling captures your eyes and and you're drawn to the balcony. After being seated your food arrives and all I can say is Holy Cow the portion sizes are huge, the freshly made pretzel bread compliments each bite that you take of your sandwich and it only makes you want more. This is my second time eating here. The first was on a Sunday for the breakfast buffet and it was simply amazing, and for 10.95 I'll be back for it again and again. The bloody Mary's are delicious as well! I just had the walleye sandwich and it was amazing the pretzel roll was soft and delicious and goes perfectly with the fish! I had the fried calamari appetizer and it was the best I've ever had! All I can say is I now want to try everything on the menu at this place! Everything I've tried was absolutely fantastic and I have to say that this is my new favorite restaurant! You must try this place if I could give it more than five stars I would!
