St. Louis Red sauce excellent for ribs and brisket
    Rhett B.

My favorite BBQ in Northwest Indiana and always a solid BBQ choice in other locations. They make sweet tea the way intended and is sweet enough to make this Bama Boy shout " Roll Tide!" No matter what region of American BBQ you love or want to sample, Mission has you covered. If you are feeling Carolina style, there is pulled pork with slaw with a NC vinegar sauce and a Georgia mustard sauce. I come across more people in this part of the world that asks me about the mustard BBQ sauce. If you want Texas Style, there is brisket with bold BBQ sauces. If you are feeling St. Louis ribs, they have you covered. If you are feeling chicken and turkey and looking to cut carbs, they have a white Bama BBQ sauce (mayo based minimal sugar) with green beans. Sauces that are on the table are the NC vinegar, Memphis (sweet), Smoky Mountain (sweet), Texas Twang (bold), KC Style (smoky Ketchup base), Tupelo Heat (hot sauce base), and Chicago (very sweet). At the serving station, they usually have St. Louis Red (sticky and tangy), Georgia Mustard, Baja Bold (spicy tomato base), and Bay-B-Q (mixed with Old Bay seasoning). You have to ask for Bama white sauce at the counter. I love the value I get at Mission with the options of 2 or 3 meats and making it a combo. Also, you can buy a refillable cup that supports charity and only costs you a $1 each time you bring it with you. With a name like Mission, there is a ton of military decor and at noon, everyone stops and sings the national anthem. They also have an email club that sends you a free sandwich for signing up and on birthdays. If I'm picking BBQ in Northwest Indiana, I'm heading to Mission because I know the tea will be sweet and I will have whatever style of BBQ I feel like.

    Brisket and mac&cheese

First time here. Large menu with a lot of choices . Theme is for military and first responders. The food was great, but my lunch companion was not a fan of the Mac& cheese but did mention she will come back to try more items. Self seating but someone will bing the food to table. You handle garbage/tray at the end. Burger comes pink but is wasn't mooing so I tried it. I would eat that again for sure. You can tell the regulars when it hits noon as audio will go off - everyone stood up and faced the flag and started the national anthem. My lunch companion and I were so confused but stood up and joined in.

Yummy bbq place for lunch! I tried the brisket, jalepeno sausage, collard greens and cornbread. Everything was cooked well, meat was juicy and bbq sauces were all good (6 different ones to try)

Brisket, green beans, cornbread. #yum #ReviewsByRL

Wnet in to get takeout. They were out of pulled pork so I got the brisket plate and a side of green beans. Which also comes with a piece of cornbread. It came to just under $18. Which seemed a little pricy, but I think some of their proceeds support veterans services, so ok. It looked like a kind of small portion in the box, but it was actually plenty of food. The cashier asked me did I want (? Or ?) For the brisket, which I didn't know what it was, and she said more or less fat. I chose the leaner and it was nice and lean. Which perhaps also made it a little less juicy, but I use bbq sauce - combine the hot and the sweet for a nice sauce. I liked the green beans, they were hot and had nice meat in them, too. #yum #ReviewsByRL

Traveling through the area and saw the drive-in car show and stopped at this spot for dinner. TBH I'd never heard of the establishment but now that I have I like the idea behind it. When you enter you'll notice a variety of seating options surrounded by tons of military and first responder memorabilia. When I ordered my meal I also bought a cup the proceeds are going to support the Global War On Terrorism (GWOT) memorial, who couldn't love that. For my entree I ordered the pulled pork, baked beans, and potato salad. The Porto was very tasty, the beans had a little kick to them and also tasty, the potato salad was okay, not the best I've had. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. All in all, a good spot and good food.

Great option for Mother's Day! My wife has two (2) favorite restaurants in the area. One of them…read morewas in the news lately and is now closed. Therefore, our Mother's Day dinner was an easy choice for once. Her favorite dish at Cooper's Hawk is the Shrimp & Scallop Risotto. She absolutely loves that dish! I have a few: The Shrimp & Scallop Risotto, The Jambalaya, and The Chicken Madiera (i. e. Chicken Marsala). Today, I ordered the Risotto, along with the Calamari and salads (Caesar for her, House for me). We also got Pretzel Bread. We washed everything down with a nice bottle of Gewurztraminer (German sweet white). She was happy, so the whole house was happy.

Not very impressed with my experience. We went yesterday for a pre-Mother's Day lunch, had…read morereservations. When sat at the table our silverware was spotty & dirty. When sat I ordered a flight of wine, which then turned into the waitress offering taste samples. Never got the wine flight. Took forever to get the wine & only received one glass at a time. Then the sales for the Wine Club started, which my co-worker joined while we were there. The experience was all about the wine club, then our appetizers arrived.. Not HOT at all, ordered the Shrimp wrap with out cashews. Our shrimp wrap had cashews in it, I tried to pick them out.. I should have sent it all back, but we could not get our waitress attention. Needless to say, I was sick all night from the nuts. I was dining on a gift certificate, so I did not complain. If I was paying for this experience, I would have spoken up about so much....

People, here is a genuine diamond in the rough!…read more I came in for something to drink and ended up not only with a bottle of IBC Black cherry cola but also with the 2 piece jerk chicken box lunch to go. They give you a choice of dark meat or white meat and I chose the latter. The chicken was well cooked and mildly spiced, although the breast was slightly dry. As for the spice, for me it was fine, but I suspect it might be on the mild side for lovers of jerk spice. Not so with the bed of red beans and rice it was served on. This is an ample portion and was not only delicious but came with quite a spicy kick. Red beans and rice weren't the only side either, the cabbage the box lunch came with was tender and delicious. Wait is that white bread home made. Yes it is! You just don't see that in even some higher end places. This is a family owned place and I got a chance to talk with them a bit and what a bunch of really nice people. This place is currently nestled between the hotel villages to the West and Southlake mall on the East. There is more than one vacant business or building and the lack of maintenance on the surrounding grounds made me wonder if the restaurant was open for business. I am glad it was. They certainly make up on the inside for what is lacking outside. The interior has ample dining space, is cheerfully decorated in an island theme and they have reggae playing softly in the background. The owners mentioned they are looking at a more welcoming location close by. But if you are looking for an inexpensive but delicious box lunch give this place a try. I don't think you would be disappointed.
