    Yummy cross bun
    Esmeralda C.

This bakery smells amazing upon walking in, with the vast array of pastries and sweets available to fulfill your cravings. There were several patrons there on an early mid-week afternoon so you know this place is popular and their treats are good. I tried their cross-bun and for my first time ever trying, it was pretty good, reminded me a bit of a fruitcake. The staff were busy so we waited a few minutes to be serviced which was not bad a all. Since my eyes filled up with so much to view, will return to try some traditional italian pastries.

Pistachio cookie, pignoli cookie, and one with jam and almond paste- all must orders!

If I leaved near Monteleone, I would probably be here every day. This is a true, old school Italian bakery with a fantastic variety of pastries and cookies. We got half a pound of mixed cookies and I wish we had ordered more! All of the cookies were excellent but some of them were truly among the best Italian cookies I've had, especially the pignoli cookie- these were absolutely incredible and I think I could've had half a pound of just these! The pistachio cookie was also delicious and had so much real pistachio flavor. I didn't catch the name, but there was also an oval-shaped cookie with jam and almond paste that was fantastic. You can tell the cookies are made with high quality ingredients and it just feels like a cute, charming neighborhood place. I would make a trip to Brooklyn just for these.

Gluten free cookies + 1 non GF hazelnut cream puff

I need to let my fellow gluten free folks know that they have at least 8 different gluten free cookie options and they're all delicious!! FYI-not a gluten free kitchen. Also, there's a non-GF cream puff pictured.

Fifth stop on our food tour We each got one small Cannoli It was very fresh and tasty. Owners license plate says cannoli and that's about all we were told.

Wow. Second time visiting Monteleone bakery and completely wowed this time. Took another visit to see the amount of amazingly gorgeous specially Italian Bakery items in here. Went with a full Cassata cake and gorgeous pasticiotti. Unbelievable how good looking it all was. Saw real deal Italian chocolate eggs wrapped for Easter. My only regret not leaving with one. Already have a few for the holiday but these looked worth trying. The baker is the owner and his daughter let me pick the most gorgeous cake with no fuss. Even though in the back of the display. Love that. Seems to get the Yelper types with ease. ; ) Definitely bookmark for real Italian bakery items.

I'm not a big dessert guy, but F Monteleone has helped me find my favorite cookie in the world. Of course, they've also got all of your Brooklyn bakery basics, like Italian flag/seven layer cookies, pignoli, butter cookies, thumbprint cookies, almond cookies, fruit tarts, eclairs, etc. But they also have stuff I've never even had before (granted, my bona fides only include growing up in Bensonhurst and going to many, many Italian family dinners). The gamechanger was this half-frollini, half amaretti fusion. My friend bought them for a party, and I just had to go back to buy more for myself and my family. The woman behind the counter said she didn't think they had a special name, so just look at my photos because they're hard to describe. They come in pistachio or almond (both are amazing). If anybody knows what it's called, DM me! Anyway, if you're there, just look in the case for cookie that looks like two cookies in a state of mitosis. And then BUY ALL OF THEM. But save me a few. They also do custom cakes, some of which are hilarious. Like a decapitated snowman head or one that looks like a cheeseburger. Lines can get long around the holidays, but it moves fast. Staff is great!

Happy 98th birthday,Antonio outdid himself on this beautiful 2 tier cake! Banana & Strawberry filling which was requested.

The space is relatively small, with a line inside and outside and a few tables outside. The length of the line and wait time varies based on the time of day and if you go on a weekday vs weekend. Go early if you don't want them to sell out of anything or purposely go a little later if you want one of their lunch sandwiches on focaccia. I have had the tomato and garlic focaccia twice now and each time it has been exceptional. Minor critique, the slices of garlic could be a bit smaller. I also had the shakshuka focaccia which is divine and I would absolutely recommend both. I need to come back to try their sandwiches as well. I am not a sweets person, but everyone I know loves their pastries. Getting someone a gif tcard here makes for a great gift.

Dropped by Radio Bakery on the Tuesday morning after Memorial Day and the lines weren't too crazy…read more I got there in time to grab some breakfast items and baked goods, and then waited at a table outside for the lunch items to get set out around 11AM. I'm usually more of a savory girlie but all the sweet items we tried were great, especially the rhubarb croissant and the earl grey morning bun. I really enjoyed the focaccia sandwiches (smoked salmon and pea/mint/feta were elite) and the artichoke green garlic slice. The flavor of the sesame stirato was excellent but the bread itself was a tad too chewy for the filling we got with it (tuna salad), so that style probably works better with the jambon beurre. Will definitely be on the rotation whenever I'm in the city -- would love to try some of their seasonal/limited edition items one day, though not sure if I have it in me to brave the lines that can form on the weekends, lol! We'll see :)

Radio Bakery... is perfection. I completely understand the line…read more I first ordered the heirloom tomato & feta sandwich, which was unbelievable. It is so clear that they use incredibly high-quality ingredients and carefully curate each component, which is exactly why everything comes together in such an elevated way. The tomatoes reminded me of the ones I grew in my garden during California summers as a teenager. Perfectly salted, layered over soft, not-too-tart feta. The focaccia was made with beautiful olive oil and, while a bit chewier than I usually prefer, gave the sandwich a satisfying bite. I had to close my eyes while eating it just to savor it. The chocolate cherry almond croissant... wow. Such a creative combination, and it did not disappoint. Soft, buttery, and filled with a sour cherry compote that reminded me of a cherry cordial from a box of chocolates. 5/5. Hainsley, who helped me, was exceptionally lovely. Everyone even in line was very nice, the vibes were awesome. I'll definitely be back to try the spicy tofu sandwich and the heirloom tomato tart!

Had the blueberry & corn ($9) and seasonal heirloom tomato ($8) and enjoyed them both. + My personal faves are the cheesy pretzel bearclaw ($6.50) and the shakshuka focaccia slice ($9) + Staff is quick and efficient and the long line outside is well organized The reality with Radio at both locations is there will be a wait. Line moves relatively fast but the slowdown is people deciding what to get, so I recommend looking at the menu in advance. Note about food drops: most items drop at 7:30am when they open, but late morning focaccia (eg. tomato & garlic) drop at 10am and lunch sandwiches drop at 11am!
