Because they were able to rectify the previous issue that I had mentioned, I went ahead and referred my husband and my daughter to this place. Both got the routine eye exams. Weeks later, I received a $10 bill for my husband's eye exam so I called them and let them know that my daughter and I had routine exams done too, but we did not receive a bill because our insurance covers the procedure 100%. The office manager said that she will contact their national billing department to ask why I got the bill and will get back to me. She never did. Weeks later, I received the invoice for the same amount So I called asking to speak to the office manager but she was out of the store and promised to call me back. She never did. So I called again and I was told by the person that picked up the phone that the office manager is in a teleconference call and that I should be the one calling their national billing department because from their end everything is paid for and covered by my insurance company. So I am supposed to seek answers and solutions to an error that they made internally? Awesome customer service. NOT. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Bought a total of 5 pairs of glasses for my wife and I. Within 90 days of purchasing all of these new glasses, one of the frame's arms broke off of one of my wife's glasses. We went to the store where we bought them, and they asked if we had purchased the insurance. We told them that we were never offered insurance and asked if there was any manufacturer's warranty on the frames. They told us that the manufacturer does not warranty the frames. So, I asked if I purchased another set of reading glasses for me could we get the 2nd frame to replace the broken one. We were told it was against policy to have two frames for two different people. There only solution was for me to buy another set of buy one get one free at the $ 89 price to fix the one frame with the broken arm. Or they gave us an address and phone number of another business that could repair the frame. We went to their competitor, only 3 blocks away, and ordered an entire new set of glasses. (Their manufacture of the frames does warranty them for a year, without any additional cost.) They lost a good customer because we were treated like they did not care. I had an awesome experience here. It is a little difficult to understand as far as insurance goes, esp if you're not familiar with insurance. So to help out fellow Military Deps: The Dr is a TriCare Prime (not standard) provider He is also a VSP provider However, Eyeglass World, is out-of-network. They still bill the insurance which, is less of a hassle for me but still confusing as hell. ANYWAY! Amanda at the front desk is super knowledgeable about everything from insurance to lenses, to frames. All of it! She is super helpful. Dr. Nguyen is super knowledgeable as well and both the exam and contact fitting exams were painless and didn't take all day. They have a lot of good deals when it comes to their products. For example, because I got my contact lenses there, I was able to have the lenses on my $100 Vonzipper shades replaced for $40 (originally would've been $80). Christina helped me out with this situation. Everyone here is on point and on top of their game. Which made a smooth process for sure! If they carried frames for folks with big coconut heads (Thanks Dad!), I'd purchase frames from here too LMFAOO! read more

I just moved to CA and my glasses are packed in storage somewhere. So I decided to get some new glasses, especially since I haven't had any in several years. I looked on Yelp for recommendations, somewhere I could go and not pay alot of money for an eye exam because I don't have insurance. Eyeglass World popped up so I decided to try it. My appointment was scheduled for 2:00pm. When I got there about 6 minutes early to fill out paperwork, there was one person available to help and several people waiting to be helped. I told the person I was there for an eye exam. She said the doctor wasn't in yet and would be there at 2:00pm... that's a first for me. She said she would give me new patient paperwork in a moment. So I waited a few minutes. By that time, it was 2:00pm. I filled out the paperwork, the doctor and assistant arrived, and I was taken to another part of the store. The assistant and doctor were great. They were the only reason I gave this place 3 stars. When I was done with the exam, I went to look at glasses. They had a buy 1 get 1 free of same or lesser value deal so I spent quite a bit of time looking around. I wanted kinda big and round frames. There wasn't really anyone there to assist me. The young lady who helped when I first arrived came over, I told her what I was looking for and she picked out a few glasses for me that were okay. She said they didn't have much of what I wanted. But I was persistent and kept looking. She walked away, went and talked with her colleague, helped him with another customer, typed some stuff on a computer... while I continued to search. I guess I'm used to eyeglass places having a sales person trying to upsell some glasses. I would have taken that over what I received, which was much of nothing. I finally found what I was looking for and checked out. My glasses were ready within an hour which was nice. read more

Went to Eyeglass World because I saw an ad for free eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses for $78. I was skeptical there would be hidden charges, but I had a great experience. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The Dr. was very good and very nice. I choose to spend $98 on a pair of Oscar de la Rentas (which I love) and got a second pair free. Tons of choices from $78 up to designer styles under $400. At check out I was offered different options for more expensive lenses, but absolutely no pressure at all. Loved my experience and all for under $100. read more

Buyer beware. Do not buy their coatings unless you are prepared for your glasses to scratch easily and get hazy. Had the glasses for less than a year and they wanted to charge me 240 for new lenses. Took the frames to a local lab I had bought glasses from before and replaced them for less than half that, Sad they don't support their product or warn you that they will scratch so easily. read more

I had great hesitation going to Eye Glass World for my new glasses. My concern was quality, how can two pair of glasses for $79 have any sense of quality. BOTTOM LINE: I was pleasantly surprised. Quality service, huge selection of frames and the quality of the lens seem the same as my previous much more expense glasses from Costco. I was served by the store General manager, Sheri Greenly. Wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! Nutshell version: 1) Went to Vista location. (They were equally as amazing!!!). 2) Met with Laura who remembered us from a previous visit. (We will assume that's a good thing) 3) Handed her my sons glasses that have broke for the third time. (He's 6 and doesn't seem to know the meaning of rough play - even after 7 frames in 12 months!) 4) The same frames weren't in stock but she said she had a friend (Brittany) in Oceanside and she would call to see if that location had the style/size we need as my son can't see without his lenses. 5) Yay! The frames were in stock. Now the amazing part.... Brittany drove the frames over to the Vista location (where I was waiting) on her way home. They arrived in 20 minutes! Who does this nowadays??? She saved me so much time in traffic with two kids. She didn't have to do that. But she did. Once again, Eye Glass World just gave me another reason to be a lifetime customer. Outstanding store! My 7 year-old has always been tricky to pick glasses for, and very often we've had to settle for whatever fits, whether we liked the design or not. Eyeglass World had a wonderful selection of kids' glasses, which allowed us to pick not 1, but 2 pairs we really loved. What's more, their prices were great and we even got the second pair free. They cut the lenses in-store and we were able to pick up my daughter's new glasses the very next day (we'd usually have to wait 1 to 2 weeks). I live very close to this location in Oceanside, and as I understand it, this store only very recently reopened, after it sustained water damage several months ago. So last month when I was in need of new glasses, I drove all the way to their Vista store, because I wanted to take advantage of their great 2 for $78 deal (I got one pair of readers and once distance). Cut to this past weekend, when I managed to lose my distance specs while I was riding the Matterhorn at Disneyland. The following morning I called the park's lost and found, and sure enough, someone had turned them in. So back up to Anaheim I went, only to find out once I had them in my possession that there were two small, yet very annoying chips in one of the lenses. I decided I couldn't take it any longer, so knowing their Oceanside store had recently opened up again, I went there to have the lens replaced. I was immediately greeted by the store's manager, who looked up my prescription from the other location. I was told to come back in about 40 minutes, and they would be ready. Sure enough, they were! Not only did they replace the damaged lens, they replaced both....AND, they didn't charge me a dime!! This was a total shocker to me, as when I initially purchased the glasses I did not buy the protection plan, and I even told the manager so. But she insisted they had me covered, and so they did! I came here for a routine eye exam, Dr. Was very thorough and glass frame selection is great and affordable. Service was good, I was seen right away and someone walked me through my lens options shortly after my appointment. Received my glasses a few days later. I was so pleased with my experience that I brought my grandmother a few months later for her routine eye exam, and the Dr. Again was very thorough, so thorough in fact that he noticed something unusual and referred us to a specialist where my grandmother was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to get emergency surgery. It was suggested that I get my eyes checked out due to some problems I've been having. I called around to some other places and couldn't get in sooner than two weeks out. I called Eyeglass World and was in the exam chair an hour later. All the people that helped me were so nice and patient. I don't wear glasses so I didn't know how it all works and they were so helpful explaining everything to me. Dr. Nguyen is great, I had a lot of questions but I didn't feel rushed at all. He explained to me in detail why I was experiencing the problems I was having. Eloisa helped me order my glasses and she was really knowledgeable about the different frames and lenses. They have a 2 pairs for $78 deal that saved me over $100 . I don't know much about the price of glasses but I felt the total for two pairs was very fair. They will also help you choose frames if you want help and they seem to be honest about what does and doesn't look flattering on you. My daughter helped me choose mine but I saw an associate helping a lady that was there alone and I felt she was really honest about her selections. My lenses had to be ordered from an outside lab, I won't have them for another week so I can't speak on those yet. He was very cordial, thorough and gave me a new prescription that i clearly thought was wrong as it was way different than any other Dr. had given me.
