Life-changing... After a brain injury (TBI) five years ago--right at the start of the pandemic--I struggled daily with balance and vision issues. It took over two years just to get off the waitlist for Vision Therapy, which meant my condition went untreated for far too long. During that time, I rarely felt confident going out on my own, driving, or even working on my computer due to constant eye strain, headaches, and intense dizziness. When I finally had my first appointment in October 2024, I was reassured that improvement was possible with patience and consistency. Fast forward nearly two years, and I can confidently say that Vision Therapy--especially the weekly sensory table sessions combined with daily eye and brain exercises--has made an incredible difference. I noticed a small improvement after my very first 30-minute session on the sensory table, which gave me hope. From there, each week built on the last. Dr. Dukes recommended 36 sessions, and by around session 20, I already felt about 80% better. Progress is gradual, and everyone's experience may differ, but for me, the improvement in balance and visual comfort has been remarkable. The exercises done at home are just as important--consistency truly makes all the difference. Taylor has been exceptional throughout this journey. Her guidance, encouragement, and expertise kept me motivated every step of the way. She not only provided effective tools and techniques but also took the time to listen and offer genuine support. She's an incredible therapist, and I'm so grateful for her care. The sensory table sessions themselves are deeply relaxing. You can choose to have music or simply enjoy the quiet. Lying back under soft red, blue, and green lights, allowing your eyes to gently track their movement, becomes a calming and restorative experience. Light therapy takes time, but it truly works. Kim at the front desk is delightful and I don't have a real problem with any of the ophthalmologists my son and I have seen. I've been going to the office for more than three years and tolerated a lot when it comes to the "store"- this last couple of experiences are forcing me to go elsewhere. I was promised a $200 credit if I ordered my contacts through them, making it cheaper than ordering them online. I was told I would receive an email. Email never came and to be honest, I don't have the time to chase it down. When I finally went back to the office, "there was nothing they could do" because it was past the 90 days. I was also told that I would get a refund if I returned any unused contacts. A refund is a refund, however, when I tried to return the unused contacts, $217 worth of them, I was told it would only apply to a store credit and new contacts. Well, I have no interest in ordering new contacts nor do I want to purchase glasses from you- especially since I tried at least 50+ pairs and didn't like any of them. I took my Rx elsewhere and I ended up with two pairs for glasses for less than the cost they were quoting me for a single pair. Everything was an up charge and they weren't willing to work with me. So, I was basically out $417 for trusting them. Never again. My recommendation is to find another ophthalmologist and purchase your glasses elsewhere. read more

I have been taking my kids (and myself) here for 15 years, even though it's a 35 minutes drive and there are other optometrists much closer to me. But Dr. Daniels was recommended to me by a trusted friend and I have never looked back! She is exceptional at helping neurodivergent people, such as anyone on the ASD spectrum, and the vision therapy we got there saved my son's depth perception. This place extremely deteriorated after it was acquired by Total Vision. The personnel and doctors used to be extremely friendly and cooperative. Now it is just a parody of customer service. You have to wait for good 10-15 min before the phone is answered. The personnel is rude, almost on the edge of louting, and absolutely not knowledgeable. Very sad transformation from what to used to be an excellent place for eye exam. Try to avoid in the future! read more

I cannot describe how inefficient, slow and time consuming this place was. It was the worst experience. I waited 2.5 hours for a regular annual eye exam. The office moved at a snails pace despite a ton of staff. I had booked it during my lunch break and was very late back to work. They asked me to come back again for a "quick" 15 minute appointment to fit new contacts. It took well over an hour. And then the refused to ship 6 months supply of contacts to me. They tried to make another appointment to pick up my contacts to which I refused. I said I would come to the desk, grab them and leave. I have been wearing glasses for 25+ years and have never experienced such horrible patient management. The staff is slow and wastes so much precious time. And appointment to pickup contacts?! What is wrong with this place. I got lasik, and even if I hadn't I'd never return to this practice. I have an annual checkup due and I'll just switch to a new practice. I won't be back, I don't recommend you try it either unless you're a glutton for punishment. The doctor was adequate l, but nothing worth the waste of time so I'm out. read more

VSP no longer in network. Love this place and always such a good experience highly recommend. I have been going here for years. Unfortunately I found out after my appointment and the significant price increase (paid 70% more than last year) that they took my insurance out of network. I questioned them several times before leaving and they did not once mention the reason for the price increase was because they took my insurance vsp out of network. They tried making it sound like my insurance lowered my benefit. Once I called my insurance they were the ones who informed me that they are no longer in network. Such a bummer the way they handled it. Hoping this post helps save others a couple hundred dollars. read more

Absolutely recommend this office. The optometrists are so wonderful here that I recommended all of my family to them and they love them, too. You can really tell the doctors here care about their patients and they never settle on the quality of their exams. I had to move away, but it's tough because I loved coming here to get my annual exams done. In my experience it can be really hard to find a great optometrist so if you're feeling stressed about finding one, look no further. If I hadn't come here I would have never known I needed vision therapy and improved my vision. For years I had gone to other optometrists with the same symptoms - clumsiness, tracking issues, poor handwriting, etc - but not once was I recommended for vision therapy. Daniel & Davis Optometry was the first time I was ever even evaluated for vision therapy. Taking vision therapy here changed my life. My reading skills became faster and I stopped running into things or nearly falling on the stairs. Seriously, you want to get your eyes checked here. Not only are all of the doctors thorough, but they are kind and warm people who clearly love what they do. None of the doctors talk down to you or make you feel stupid. When it comes to ordering glasses here it has also been a really great experience. All of the frames I have been sold are extremely sturdy and the lenses are of excellent quality. I have ordered cheaper frames from other places like Warby Parker or Costco, but they never lasted me and always ended up with tons of scratches or some kind of film on the lenses would peel off. With my glasses from Daniel & Davis I have truly put them through the test. You see, I adventure outdoors a lot and my glasses get treated pretty roughly as a result, but all of my lenses and frames still look great and fit me so well. 8 months ago, an optometrist suggested vision therapy for my 15 year old. We where blessed to have found Johnathan Hall at Daniel & Davis Optometry. Our son was scheduled for 25 sessions 1 hour each week. The very first session my son was not interested in engaging and wanted to leave. But Jonathan was not even phased a little by his obstinate behavior. Jonathan didn't skip a beat nor did he get frustrated in the slightest amount. Jonathan with great and gentle determination found ways to engage with my son and win his trust. As sessions progressed, my son soon came to consider Jonathan his friend and he looked forward to coming and spending an hour in therapy every Saturday morning. Jonathan quickly figured out the areas that my son struggled in and focused in on that. Now my son wanted the easy way out by doing exercises that he enjoyed doing, but Jonathan focused on the ones that he needed and figured out ways to make it fun and engaging. The area where my son struggled the most was being able to communicate verbally and accurately what he was seeing with someone who could not see the object. He would get frustrated often in the beginning to where he wanted to leave, but through Jonathans patience and gentleness he became very accurate in his visual communication. In fact so good that he was able to describe complex 3D built objects in such precision that the other person could build it exactly just from verbal communication. The end result. When my son went in for revaluation, the 3rd party optometrist (same one who did the initial evaluation) was blown away by his increased visual memory and communicative skills. In fact the exact remark was that "I have collage students who can't even remember half of what you remembered" I thank my Lord Jesus for opening therapy with Jonathan Hall. His skill set is way beyond vision therapy. He successfully tied vision therapy and emotional therapy together in a way that had profound results. He also became a friend, because he actually cares. When vision therapy was first recommended for my first child I was not a believer. I didn't think it would matter much and it seemed like a huge effort for very little return and so we were not consistent.  We spent tens of thousands of dollars on reading tutoring for our son- no improvements. Towards the end of the pandemic we found this practice and we decided since nothing else was working we were gonna give vision a strong consistent effort because we were burnt out and humbled by all our valiant efforts to get him reading. After a couple of months of consistently attending vision therapy sessions and doing the homework Dr Coffey and the vision team sent-- not an exaggerstion-- it's as if someone snapped a finger and it all finally clicked for him. Melissa, Dinah and April do a great job at whatever it is they do and now I'm a firm believer that children with any autism, dyslexia, learning processing etc can not and will not thrive without vision therapy. Most people I tell don't believe it. I heard this time and time again from optometrist and advocates and still didn't believe until I saw it first hand.  Not only that but Dr Coffey writes very nice reports for schools and is very kind in following up. April, dinah and Melissa have been amazing keeping up with the vision sessions and sending homework in whatever format is easiest for us- email, paper etc. We have a large family with several children with special needs and our schedules are incredibly demanding and difficult. In the past we have had occupational therapy clinics or speech clinics that will give away your slot if you miss a couple of sessions for illnesses or other cancellations. We do our best to be consistent but with the demands it's impossible to make every session. Dinah and the team are gracious, understanding, and have never given away our slot- when parents like us get a slot it is usually the only time we can make happen and our kids would suffer if that was taken away. Dinah always is so accommodating and you can tell they care about our children's wellbeing and progress. We just are so grateful for this clinic, Dr. Coffey, Dinah, Melissa and April. We just couldn't do it without them and they are miracle workers. Thank you! read more

Dr. Jenness is great. My exam went well and Dr. Jenness is so good with patients. Every other facet of this place is the reason for my review. The optical "staff" is the worse. In over 20 years of wearing glasses, these are the most poorly fitted glasses I have owned. After 6 visits to adjust the frames and replace the lenses, my glasses still do not fit right. I saw a new "technician" each visit and it's as if they're all new. The office could use an experienced technician to help patients find frames that fit their face, then adjust until they are comfortable. I ordered thin/ high index lenses for my glasses. After showing the technician how thick the lenses were compared to my previous pair of glasses, they claimed I didn't specify I wanted the thinnest option. What did I pay extra for? In addition to the multiple visits for adjustments, I was provided the wrong time for an appointment (told 9 am when for some inexplicable reason they open 30 minutes later on Tuesdays). And during another visit I waited 30 minutes (then left) since they were behind schedule. During Covid! Patients should be seen quickly instead of waiting around in a busy waiting area for appointments. This is such a poorly run office. I will not be returning. read more

This is the best optometry office I have been to in the last 5 years. I've worn glasses/contacts most of my life so I just want to get my routine exam and get out of there. Which is exactly what I got. No high pressure sales for glasses I don't need and they price matched my contacts with Costco saving me the hassle of going to Costco and then needing to get reimbursed by my insurance company. I wouldn't trust my daughter with any other doctor besides Dr. Daniel. We drive far to see her, and each time it's completely worth it. My daughter is only 2, so we were surprised at how much information she got from the exam. Not only was she patient with our hyperactive child, she broke down her results in lament terms where even my husband was able to understand. Regarding covid changes: we appreciated the precautions that the office had. All patients had to get their temperature taken prior to entering the office. All staff members/doctors wore masks. There were markers on the floor to guide social distancing. I also noticed air purifiers in every room. Honestly, you couldn't go wrong with any of the doctors or services at this office. read more

Despite the office closing soon, they said to rush over for a priority exam. Camilla Dukes performed a thorough exam that extended into the after-hours by 45 mins. There are several facets to this business, that it's hard to give a star rating for the whole thing. 5 stars for our experience with the optometrist. We were very happy with the exam and prescription. 4 stars for our experience with the technicians before the exam. They were friendly. And they walked us through the preliminary screening type of things pretty well. Most of those we'd never done before (at other optometrist offices), so we weren't familiar with them, and would have appreciated more info about what they were for or how to do them. 0 stars for the technicians who do the glasses choices & fittings. Several reasons why: - I did not feel like they offered wise counsel on which frames would be good (for our prescriptions, for our faces, etc.). I had to reject the first set of glasses because they weren't working (I think they measured wrong). The glasses I ended up choosing next are definitely my least fav glasses I've ever had in my life. In fact, I try my best to not wear them (opting for other options, even my older glasses). They do not fit my face well, despite getting them adjusted several times. (I've since consulted a technician at a different office, and I learned that the glasses I have are not the right fit for my nose. So no matter how they're adjusted, they'll never stay up.) - After choosing our glasses, and paying for them, we waited weeks... and weeks. No communication. I called and asked if our glasses were in yet, and was told I'd be called back to let me know. No call back. I called again. Finally talked with someone who said oopsie, they were never ordered in the first place. This happened multiple times in the several months we tried to make this work. In the end, by the time we received satisfactory glasses and had to go in several times to get them adjusted, it was almost time for our next yearly exam. Wow. - I will say they were very knowledgeable about our insurance and what was covered. But it would've been nice to be informed of those costs as we were walking through the steps of making choices for options of the lenses and frames. If I would have known my insurance would only cover $x for frames, I would definitely have made a different choice. - One of the glasses technicians was very rough with my new glasses as he was "adjusting" them. He twisted them so abruptly, which didn't even help them fit better, and I believe he actually damaged the frames. Very disheartening after spending $$$ out of pocket. 2 stars for the vision therapy evaluation. Several reasons why: - I was not informed of the cost beforehand, nor was I offered options of what I'd like to be evaluated on. A paper I signed did state some prices, but I thought I'd be asked if I wanted all of the evals (I was only going to pick one to do). And I also thought I'd be informed about what the evaluation options were, to help me decide what I'd like to move forward with. Instead, it was assumed I wanted to do AllTheEvals, and when it was time to check out - after well over an hour of evaluation - only then did I find out how much money was now expected to be paid. Yikes! I felt in the dark the whole time. - The evaluating therapist was okay, but not super kind & patient. I would have appreciated a more friendly attitude, and to be more informed on what the evaluations were looking at. It was hard to buy-in to doing my best, when it felt like such a never-ending grind. - When the doctor went over the results, we were very happy with that experience. It then became evident what the evals were evaluating, and how the deficits affect life. I was very happy with this part. read more

Such an unorganized office. I came in to get my annual test, and the gal told me my insurance is inactive. I asked why she didn't verify it prior to me leaving work early, then she said she made a mistake. Had my exam, dr was kind and thorough. Then I asked for a copy of my prescription. I left with somebody else's prescription, there's goes HIPPAA for whosoever paperwork I got. Tempted to post a pic of it but I won't... I call to schedule a follow up appt w the technician for glasses, and the gal at the front desk said they will call me back. two days pass, nothing. I call back and the gal says "oh ya let's schedule an appt" I asked why they didn't do this when I called the first time? No solid response. So no follow up.... I come in to see technician, and she tells me my insurance is inactive and that she can't help me. It was active two weeks ago, what changed? I told her it's her job to verify, she said no. History repeats itself as I was told last time my insurance is inactive, and yet again they make error. I drove all the way there for no reason and she was unwilling to help. They lost a patient. Also, don't buy frames here. They jack ip the prices significantly. Can find the same styles online for a much better price. Overall, the front desk and technician are extremely unorganized and unprofessional, go elsewhere and don't waste your time. Update: 3/22- I was able to go to LensCrafters and get my frames updated with the insurance Daniel Davis office claimed was inactive. Oh and the gentleman at LensCrafters offered to call to insurance himself (and it pulled up active on their computer.) that's called efficient customer service. read more
