If you were looking for a 5 Star+ North County quality optical center with fantastic customer service, quick turnaround, great selection of glasses and your other optometry office just isn't it, then this is your spot. I first heard about Ocean View optometry at the Carlsbad Street fair. I had previously been going to another optical center in Carlsbad, which unfortunately was bought out by a larger company and the quality of the service and customer care seemed to go down, so I decided to try a new optical office and I was really glad that I did. Maria, the head optician greets you warmly on the phone and immediately confirmed to make sure that my insurance plan was covered before setting an appointment, which helps a lot because I have personally been to other offices that will see you, only to later find out that they are either not in network or you'll have a huge out-of-pocket cost so this helped a great deal right off the bat (1st Star for insurance coverage network and verification). I was able to get an appointment within a week which was flexible with my schedule and very different from past optical offices, where I couldn't even get an appointment for weeks. (2nd Star for flexibility and scheduling) When I first visited the office, I noticed that it was in a great location with plenty of parking and right next to Bound coffee shop. (3rd star for location and parking) When I walked in the office, it was light and beautifully decorated, and there was a wide selection of very aesthetic, looking glasses and frames. (4th Star for great vibe and cool selection of glasses I would actually want). Maria greeted me warmly and I was seen promptly for the eye tests and then I saw Dr. Morgan who was very kind patient and thorough with every aspect of the eye exam. I didn't ever feel rushed and I especially liked that I could ask questions about various eye issues I had been experiencing, since I have sensitive eyes. Since I am a contact lens wearer he suggested a new brand of contacts that I never used or heard any of at my previous optician and I gave then a try with a trial pair they set up for me. Everything was done promptly during my exam and I never felt rushed unlike my experience with other opticians. I received a follow up call the next day from Maria asking about the comfort of the new contact lenses and no surprise that, I love them. They were way better than my last pair and let more air in and had better comfort and no dry eye (so great that I recommended them to a friend who wears lenses and runs marathons). I decided to order them and Maria provided me with all of the rebate information and receipts necessary to file the claim online. I also had my ray ban frame glasses from a previous office fitted with my new prescription and surprisingly they came back within days. It was wonderful. My kid had sat on the glasses, but Maria and team were able to bring them back to life from a "pancake" to "perfect to me" glasses - I was so pleased with their service that I also set up an eye doctor appointment for my kid because she is now in school. Dr. Morgan as a parent himself is also very kind and patient when going through the exam with my shy child. He did not rush her through and spent extra time explaining things in a way that she would understand and not be scared. He noted issues that I could continue to monitor since both of her parents (me, lol) have poor eyesight. (5th Star+ for amazing customer service of me and my kid). I am very pleased with my initial appointment and every aspect of the customer care that I received at Ocean View Optomety. Dr. Morgan was amazing! I've been having trouble reading for short periods without getting vertigo, nausea, and headaches, but I thought it was just my migraine condition acting up. HOWEVER, that was not the case! Dr. Morgan was very kind and attentive, didn't make me feel bad about not seeing an eye doctor since 2017 (oops! ), and kept me informed throughout the exam about what he was doing and why. He quickly figured out my issue, and the 20% discount for those without insurance was a huge blessing. Maria at the front desk is a gem and very easy to communicate with. I'm so grateful to have found Ocean View Optometry! I relocated to Oceanside a couple of years ago and used another optometrist that first year. I felt like I was part of an assembly line being rushed through with little to no care. I saw an ad for Ocean View Optometry and decided to give them a try. My first interaction with Maria in the front office was simply amazing. She was personable, knowledgeable, and set the stage for what would become a very enjoyable experience. I can't remember the last time any doctor showed such concern, compassion, and patience with me. Dr. Morgan is in a class by himself. He was so patient and spent a great deal of time with me diagnosing and developing a treatment plan. I got new glasses and also contacts for which we took several visits to get them just right. I needed a local optometrist to fit me with a contact so I could try out monovision before doing lasik to correct presbyopia. I chose Dr. Morgan because he was close to home and had great reviews -- I'm so glad I did! Dr. Morgan and his assistant, Maria, are fantastic. They got me right in for an appointment and took the time beforehand to talk with my out of town optometrist, who will perform the surgery, to get clear about what he wanted me to try. Unfortunately, contacts do NOT want to go in my eye but we didn't give up and Dr. Morgan was finally able to get it in after using a numbing solution. He graciously offered to put it in for me every morning while I'm trying it out and it's been a lifesaver. Not only is Dr. Morgan a great doc, but the customer service here is second to none.
