You can tell she really cares about her patients and making sure everything runs smoothly. Dr. Steven's was just as great! He took the time to explain everything clearly and didnt make the appointment feel rushed at all which I really appreciated. He was very thorough during the exam and made me feel comfortable the whole time. Overall the team made what can sometimes feel like a really stressful situation actually really pleasant. Can't say enough good things about this place! I always like to support local when I can, and I'm glad I've been coming here for the past five years. I always have an outstanding experience when doing my eye exam with various optometrists due to having no preference, however I was prompted to review because I've been having the greatest experience with Heather in the glasses section. She has been the most helpful and knowledgeable when attempting to choose my glasses; making sure I get the best deal and informing me of the warranty I have available. I did note their warranty is insanely better than any chain by far who usually make you pay and then have co-pays included as well, whereas Greider has neither it is all included for the term. Have been meaning to write this review sooner, but here goes. Brandyn Chen did my eye exam and he was so kind and I never felt rushed. Then I saw Dr. Heather Chen. She just did my partners cataract surgery recently, which was a great success and we both just love her. Dr. Chen is smart and sweet and listens to everything you say. I had my eye exam and was then directed to the department that handles glasses. Nathan was the person who helped me. He was very thorough and took his time going over everything with me. By the time we were done and I had paid for my glasses, they had been closed for 15 minutes already. Nathan said not to worry, he usually stays late anyway. Very pleasant experience. Horrible experience almost entire time. Easy to schedule an exam but went straight downhill after that. Treated like products in an assembly line moving from window to window. Felt like I was at the DMV. Pushy about doing retinal scan and paying for lenses up front. Doctor did not explain the scan results, just rushed to get me done as fast as possible. Were supposed to call me once trial lenses came in. After a week and a half I called and they were just oh, yeah they are here. Thanks for letting me know f**k wads. Why get cataract surgery?  Get clear vision? Better Vision? No longer wear glasses? All of these things are the dreams that are expressed to you BEFORE surgery, afterwards all you get are office workers bullying you into believing this was a successful surgery because the notes say, blah, blah, blah.  Let's look at the reality, I paid $3,015.00 & my ins was billed $13,868.00 for an eye that sees as bad (or worse) than I did before.  They can't even get glasses to improve the vision on that eye.  Also I have purchased 5 - 6 glasses with each one supposed to be "better",  and they were not, I still see 20/50 to 20/80.I am a senior living on Social Security & that $ I paid for those glasses was 2 months of my SS income.I asked for a refund since the surgery was unsuccessful, I was switched from one person to another in the office & after 2 weeks they told me no.  I guess they need the money more than me but I doubt that.Please think carefully before getting cataract surgery, they are not always successful. My Dr was Benjamin Stephens, MD at Greider Eye Associates2067 W Vista Way #120Vista, CA  92083 That is my story read more

For years I have received exceptional care and service from the team at Greider Eye Associates but today I want to give five stars to Mars and Margarita in the eye glass department! My glasses broke so I walked in last week hoping to just get new frames. Mars saw that it had been over 2 years since my last eye exam and got me in for an appointment almost immediately. He then helped me select my new frames (hard to select new frames without being able to see!). Also thanks to optometrist whose name I forgot. He gave me my eye exam and a new prescription. Today I picked up my new glasses. Margarette helped me and had them adjusted for a perfect fit. I had glasses made here several years ago and was satisfied with them. Their service has really deteriorated since then. Last year I had cataract surgery and took my prescription in for new glasses. I was never told that they do not have a contract with Medicare and was charged almost $600 out of pocket. When I went in to pick up the glasses, I paid what I was told I owed. Eleven months later I get a call from Heather stating that I owe an additional $30 and that if I don't pay it immediately it will be sent to collection. I never received a phone call or a bill from them prior to this call. And I don't even wear the glasses because they were never right. read more

Got both eyes done for cataracts. Dr greider is an incredible surgeon using the most modern techniques and having some of the greatest experience with cataracts. I did a lot of research before choosing him and recommend that if you're going to get cataract surgery that you do it here with Dr greider. Everything about the experience was incredible. Dr greger's calm demeanor helps to put you at ease and all their recommendations were exactly what was needed for my eyes. I got a pair of "real glass" , progressive lenses made at Dr Greider office. I have the polycarbonate ones they made there back in December 2023. They scratch so easy that I wanted to get real glass one's made there there. After I got them and was cleaning them with alcohol wipes I noticed eight little circles in the glass. I went to their office to show them and the optical manager simply said that's the way progressives are made. She did not even look at them. She just blew me off. I have progressives they made there before and there are no circles on them. I went to her supervisor and she simply repeated what " violet" had said. This office supervisor "Jeanne" said she would refund my money I paid in cash, in good faith. In good faith (using my words) and that was all they would do . They would not make them correctly. Now all I could do was go someplace else. I asked Jeanne to give me the measurements they took so I could have lenses made elsewhere. Guess what? She refused. She absolutely would not help me. Went for my yearly check up. This place was new for me. So we checked in and I really wanted to get a picture of the back of my eye. It's almost fully covered with insurance. But nobody ever asked if I wanted to do it. And they decided to dilate my eyes in order to look back there And what I didn't realize, was that if they dilated my eyes, they cannot take a picture of the back of my eyes. So when I mentioned I wanted that picture they asked, did you tell them at the front desk? And I said no, but they didn't ask either and I didn't know I was supposed to be the one to bring it up. So, after having my eyes dilated. Life sucked for hours. And I would've preferred to have a picture so that I can tell next year if it's getting better or worse. Terrible customer service. Felt like part of a cattle herd. No follow-up. They took all my money up front yet have not even called to schedule a check-up on the prescription. Office didn't have contact lens trials but said they would get them in two days. Its been over two weeks. The only caring person I met was Optician Joanna. They should be so grateful to have her. Greider Eye has great people working there. Genetically, I have not so great eyes. Add in glaucoma and a detached retina repair and I have to have the best people taking care of my eyes. I'm 69 and still driving well with no accidents since 1968. I'm in an orchestra and a concert band reading music. Ophthalmologist Dr. Ziviri is wonderful. Optometrist Dr. Azimi is wondeful. Went to Grieders for yearly eye check up and paid $30 00 for a lens perscription. Patients co.e on time and always have to wait 25 to 50 minutes to see a tech that puts drops in your eyes then sit anither 25 min utes. Then another tech takes you to a machine to check your eyes. Back to sit for another 30 minutes.finaully you see the person who gives you an eye test. I sat anotherv20 minutes then Callef in to see the Dr. Stated my eye shape good and no eye disease. She sent me back to check out. I asked about a perscription which I paid for. Said I had dry eyes. I said no doctor or technician said that.anyways she said yse eye drops 3 x a day. Come back in 3 weeks. I went back 3 weeks. Tech had me read the eye chart. She did not give any perscription for my wrinkled retna on left eye. There is good perpherial vision. Then she put poly arp on my prescription. It majes the opticians use the mist expensive shatter proof lens. Glasses cost atleast $200.00 more per pair. I CALLED Grieder's asked why the opticia. Didnot check left eye and wgy my husband only has one eye that sees he did nit have that one his prescription. They said they'd check out and call back.Called 2 days later and asked for my $30.00 back. Receptionist went into her act stating dont raise your voice. I didnt but at almist 80 years old I run my phone on speaker. Lousey servi e. Make everyo e late and whe you finually get out( 2 to 3 hours later) you've had a bad experience. There's a general issue with medical care in San Diego, and that is the fact that it's all quite institutional rather than private practice. We live in both West Hollywood and Oceanside, and the care in the LA area is more intimate and one-on-one with your doctor (who always remembers you as well). An exception is Dr. Greider's office. We have been there several times for types of eye questions outside of general check up. We can always get in rapidly, and the care is considerate, and Dr. Grieder takes his time with explanations and usually more than one way to treat. Thanks, Dr. Greider! read more
