The doctor and attending staff are nice and were pleasant to work with. 5***** However, the incompetence of the billing department drops the stars as it involved several HOURS of my time to resolve their mistake. The on-site staff "doesn't handle billing" and the torturous process of trying to contact the billing department (which is located in the Eastern time zone) involved multiple phone calls over several days with 15-30 minute hold times leading to my leaving a v/m which was ignored ("Due to staffing issues, wait times are longer than usual. Leave a voicemail if you can't continue to hold") And this was just to prove I'd already paid the bill (through my bank) a month earlier. I finally got through to someone today only to hear, yep, the letter was sent in error. Ugh, life is too short to waste my time with a company that refuses to staff enough to correct their own mistakes. Any company can bill in error but when the process to correct the error becomes this onerous, I'm done. read more

This place is terrible! Been here several times and always just ok, but this visit takes the cake. First send me 20 texts about appointment which I text "C" to confirm appointment only to show up and be told it's cancelled. Ok, well I need 6 months of contacts, but tell me they also can't do that cause my prescription expires today. Well today isn't over and you cancelled my confirmed appointment, so help me out. Both Christian and Odessa gave me amazing customer service. Christian greeted me with a smile and had me have a seat and started my new glasses process. Then Odessa came over to help him seal the deal along with a few laughs and singing. They both were able to get all my insurance info and me some savings. I went in looking to get my glasses updated , when i walked in i was greeted by the staff and walked over to my appointment . Miguel and Dr.tran we're very polite in my exam, when i finished up they walked me over to Sean and Adriana who helped me pick out some frames and were very polite and knowledgeable about lens options for my high prescription they were able to get 2 pairs done same day while my more premium pairs were sent out i would recommend this place and will be back ! read more

Unfortunately, even though the reviews on this place seem to be hit or miss, I tried it out. I went in on March 29th for an eye exam, and to order new contacts. The staff and the doctor were very friendly. After being given a trial pair, I went ahead and ordered a six month supply of contacts and was told they'd have to order them and they would contact me when they arrived. Upon order over $300 worth of contacts, I ensured that they had my correct phone number at the check out counter, even though I had already written it on my New Patient form. I called them the next day to inform them that the trial pair was not working for me, and asked to switch my order to a different brand. During this phone call, the staff member told me that they needed to check a few things and that they would call me back. I never received a call back so I had to call again the following week. During this phone call, I confirmed that my phone number was correct (for the THIRD time) to ensure no continued errors. It is now May 10th... over a MONTH after ordering my original contacts. I just called the store and was told that the contacts were there and that they tried to call me (on a wrong phone number after having previously confirmed my phone number THREE times) and could not leave a voicemail. After discussing the details, they received the original contacts that I asked to cancel. So my requested / corrected contacts have not even been ordered. When I addressed the situation, there were no corrections made or further steps taken to ensure this did not happen again. I have been re-wearing ONE A DAY lenses for weeks now due to this. Waited 6 weeks and now will be waiting longer. Got my contact lenses and they were the wrong amount of contacts and the wrong prescription. Never had such a bad experience ... EVER. read more

I was so grateful for their patient and thorough help last year that I sent an email off to the district manager, which I've included bits of below to help explain the lengths they went to make sure we were satisfied: [. . .] All of our family members have been serviced by the wonderful Liz S. for many years (5+) and we actually followed her from the Vista branch to Oceanside when she transferred locations. My father especially has a difficult time when he needs to update his prescription, and Liz took on his case with the patience and understanding that everyone wishes their parents could receive in healthcare. My dad can be nervous when it comes to these kinds of errands, and Liz often referred to her own experiences "sitting on the other side of the table" when answering his long list of questions. I also want to recognize the entire team at the Oceanside location for their dedication to customer service and getting things resolved right, no matter the complexities involved. Liz and Edgar had to put their heads together to help identify an unusual issue that my Dad was experiencing with his initial set of eyeglasses. Liz must have spent over 60 minutes sitting with us, making adjustments, and patiently hearing my Dad describe what was going on with his vision. She never made us feel rushed or too picky, and emphasized the importance of my Dad getting glasses that worked properly for him. Eventually we realized that the glasses needed to be remade and had to be picked up a few weeks later. I called a couple of times in the weeks that passed, and Odessa always picked up the phone with her friendly and helpful attitude. She took down my number to personally follow up a few days later, which I really appreciated. During our latest visit last week to reevaluate the new lenses, we were finally able to nail down the root of the problem with teamwork from Spencer, Adriana, and Alina. We were so lucky that Spencer was at the store that day. Her sharp eyes and persistence in problem-solving allowed us to finally determine that the unusual thickness of my Dad's lenses, paired with the angle of installation in the frame, was affecting his vision. Again, we were helped for over 60 minutes with the utmost understanding and patience, and Spencer kept on making adjustments until my Dad was completely satisfied. She is really the rockstar you want in your corner when faced with a headache. Adriana and Alina helped input the necessary changes in the computer system to have the glasses remade properly, and we were glad to pay the extra add-on for thinner lenses. Not once were we rushed or dismissed in our concerns, and Alina helped explain the remainder of the process as we concluded our visit. As a daughter, it's a huge relief that I can trust my parents' eye needs will be met by such capable professionals. From Dr. Nguyen's excellent care in the initial eye exam to the friendly, expert attention of the representatives, the fantastic customer service of the Oceanside team really cannot be understated. In May 2022 I purchased eyeglasses from this store and I paid extra for antiglare coating. After one month scratches appeared on the lenses. I always cleaned them daily with cleaner and the store-supplied cloth. I am now having to wear a different pair. I have worn glasses for 30 years and this is the only time I have had this problem. They sell poor quality glasses. I have tried to get the staff to recognize my problem, but they refused to give me a discount to replace my scratched lenses. Poor customer service. read more

Do not waste your time. They will tell you to come in and they can fix your glasses. Then the snobby tech will refuse. I then tried to just buy another pair but of course, even though their inventory in the computer says they have two more pairs they can't actually find them anywhere in the store. So in order to get a new pair I would also have to buy new lenses too! I was not offered the option of ordering in another pair of the exact same frames I have. The best advice I got was go to ANOTHER store that they do not own to get them repaired. I will NOT be back. Absolutely ridiculous! I called Eyeglass World based on reviews and proximity to my house on the way from work. The exam went well, there was no wait at all, & Dr. Vuong was great! The reason I give this place 5 stars is due to their customer service. Nathan helped me when I couldn't decide between a few different frames. The store was closing and I was trying to be decisive, it was giving me a little anxiety. He was patient, extremely helpful and very pleasant; putting my anxieties at ease. The customer service here is not worth the wait. We arrived in store at 11:05am and still waiting to be helped. It is 11:50am, and all that is done is to take a seat and continue to wait. I was here before the other 2 customers and they were serviced quicker. The prices are moderate but the selection is lacking. Customer service is definitely not the place to be. My first try at going to Eyeglass world and while the people have all been very nice and friendly in person, my experience as a whole has been POOR! I spent a large sum on money for Glasses and Contacts. In comparison to Lenscrafters, the lens protocol to line up my eyes for the lens was very bizarre. At "Lenscrafters", they put your glasses in a very high tech device that maps out your eye balls and make them be able to place the lens at the perfect placement via a computer. At Eyeglass World, the young lady has you put the glasses on and then takes a pen to make a "dot" on the lens. Thats it....nothing else. Guess you gotta hope it comes out right. At Lenscrafters, when you pick up your glasses, they actually fit them to you - making sure your are comfortable and they fit correctly and then give you a nice case to go with them. At Eyeglass World, they give you your glasses in a stupid plastic case and send you on your way-You don't try them on and I guess you are supposed to hope for the best. Also, at Lenscrafters, I got the same type of glasses in One day - Progressive, transition lens. At Eyeglass world, it took TWO SOLID weeks. Ridiculous. And THEN on the contacts, I had to finally call them after 3 weeks, only to be told they had arrived and the call to me couldn't go through, so I was never notified. The call couldn't go through??? I get all my other calls. AND, if that was the truth, wouldn't the company try again? OR WHAT? Just hope that I "might" call in??? This is probably the worst service I have gotten from a company. I highly doubt I will ever return. read more

Very upset about my appointment today. My family and I have been coming here for years and I always had such a great experience except for today. Alexis was the one helping me and because my husband and I just got new insurance through his work, I asked her which would be cheaper and better deal, if we went through insurance or paid cash for the frames. She told me that it might be better to pay in cash because insurance will add charges it doesn't cover for. She tried to show me on the calculator but her math wasn't making sense and she couldn't explain to me what charges she typed in. She then recommended we just enter it in the computer for the insurance to get price , I agreed. Once she finished she told me that it was going to be $140 out of pocket if I went through insurance, and $114 if I paid cash for the two for $99 deal. I responded and said, "okay, if cash is cheaper I will do that". She then Huffed and rolled her eyes and said "well now I have to type everything all over again". I was so shocked that I was being treated that way, and that she rather me spend an extra $30 so she doesn't have to do her job. I was so offended I considered just walking out. I ended up paying for the glasses, this will be my last time shopping with them. I now question the honesty in trying to help me as a customer over just trying to take my money and get me out the door. Very disappointing! read more

Came in with an appointment for an eye exam. I was seen fairly quickly and the staff were friendly and attentive. Dr. Tran did my exam and she was very knowledgeable and personable. The exam was quick and thorough and I had my updated prescription in less than 20 minutes I'd guess. The total cost was $58, but much less out-of-pocket since they took my insurance. As far as frames go, I thought the prices were also fair. For top of the line titanium frames ($200), polycarbonate lightweight lenses ($120), but transitions film ($100), the total was $460 plus tax. But after taking my insurance, the price was $275. Then you get your second pair 50% off if you opt for that. It's a pretty good deal I thought. There was no pressure to buy frames/lenses, though. Loraine took care of my price quote and insurance giving me a detailed write-up. I was very appreciative of the atmosphere and professionalism. Thank you all! read more

Wow!! After my eye doctor retired with no replacement. I went to another doctor who messed up my RX. My nephew came to visit and his glasses broke. I figured let's get him a new pair since his RX was outdated. I didn't know where to take him so I called around and Eyeglass World took him within 2 days for an appointment. $58 for a RX and 2 pair of glasses for $79 (single vision). Came out paying $102 for 2 pair of glasses and the RX!!! Unbelievable thank you so much!!! They look great on him. read more

Because they were able to rectify the previous issue that I had mentioned, I went ahead and referred my husband and my daughter to this place. Both got the routine eye exams. Weeks later, I received a $10 bill for my husband's eye exam so I called them and let them know that my daughter and I had routine exams done too, but we did not receive a bill because our insurance covers the procedure 100%. The office manager said that she will contact their national billing department to ask why I got the bill and will get back to me. She never did. Weeks later, I received the invoice for the same amount So I called asking to speak to the office manager but she was out of the store and promised to call me back. She never did. So I called again and I was told by the person that picked up the phone that the office manager is in a teleconference call and that I should be the one calling their national billing department because from their end everything is paid for and covered by my insurance company. So I am supposed to seek answers and solutions to an error that they made internally? Awesome customer service. NOT. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more
