I walked in because the giant sign on the door says "2 pairs of glasses + eye exam for $79." Sounds simple, right? Nope. I already have Ray-Ban aviators with prescription lenses and just wanted to replace the scratched lenses. Not a new frame. Just lenses. The girl behind the counter immediately throws out "$200." No explanation. No questions. Didn't ask if I wanted anti-reflection, polycarbonate, glass, nothing. Just $200 like she pulled the number out of thin air. I asked how she calculated that price. She couldn't explain it. That's basic customer service 101. If you sell optics, you should understand what you're selling. Customer service attitude was cold and dismissive. At one point she even told me I was "yelling," which is nonsense. I was asking normal questions any customer would ask before spending money. They do have a lot of frames, but honestly most of them feel cheap, like $20-$50 quality. That explains the $79 promo -- it's all about pushing budget frames, not helping people who already have quality glasses. Not a complete disaster, but definitely not professional either. If you value real service and knowledgeable staff, you're better off going somewhere like LensCrafters or a proper optical shop. Completely incompetent staff and was told I needed to see the factual eye doctor took a whole day off from work to find out my appointment was never made and no same day eye wear would be able to be done cause yes it's promoted but not actually real it's like 2 day pick up. My appointment was for a tech not an optician/doctor; had to reschedule and drive 45 minutes two says later to see an actual doctor since i wanted cataract check; she turned out to be great; but then was handed over to pick out glasses, I chose two frames from the "two pairs for $79" section of the store with light blue tags (as advertised) rather than the more expensive section; my total ended up being $520!!! Even with the "free" exam ; the $79 is for readers (which you can get at the Dollar Tree for $1.25 each ) not bifocals...crazy!!! Great experience here at the Escondido location, Made a phone call in regards to their free eye exam with 2 glasses the man was very friendly and scheduled me a convenient time for the day. The staff is very informative and helpful, Earl was amazing he was very patient and accomodating while I searched for my frames and made sure to answer any questions or concerns I had, I even asked if my glasses would be done the same day and he checked his inventory and said yes its possible, asked me if I wanted to wait and In less than 15 mins both frames were ready, definitely made my day, Havent received quality service like this in a while, Coming back in the future for my contacts! read more

I came in as the Stanton optical in vista was unable to help me. As soon as I walked in the door a nice man greeted me and immediately helped me. I explained that one of the nose pieces from the glasses I got a few years ago from Stanton fell off. He replaced the nose piece that broke off my glasses within minutes, as well as the other one. They didn't have someone there to test my eyes, but he explained the charges to me and the times they were available. Very efficient and friendly here with a good selection. read more

I am disabled RA, anxiety so i finally get my eyes tested, the lines on the eye test was dirty I kept saying its blurry cause the lens is dirty he came in cleaned it. they where very nice however when I picked up my glasses I kept saying I can't see distance at all he said due to it being a trifocal I need to try them for 3 weeks so my eyes get use to them I could'nt wear them for 5 minutes cause I couldnt see. I was unable to return for 31/2 months. I live on a fixed income cost 2 glasses for $79.00 however, with all the other things it came to $397.00 when i finally went back explained my situation to a man behind the desk he said can't do anything for you, you will have to pay another $397.00 I couldn't he said I probably could have worked something out with you if you came in 2 weeks earlier and was very rude I said I want the other pair of frames I picked out and where put away for me he said no you only get one I said no its 2 for $79.00 he said but you didn't take them I said cause he was holding them for me. Anyway, I have $397.00 glasses that I can't wear and I have no money to afford new ones. I wear my 20 year old prescription glasses just real careful when I'm driving. Really nice way to work with over 60 disabled living on a fixed income. Great guys! Came here after being swindled by "Americas Best Eyeglass" on E Valley Pkwy for 70$ eye exam and they told me they would not accept my frames. Yesterday we went to this place My Partner & I & had a 1045 & 11 AM appt. for an eye exam. My guy was right on time & saw an actual Doctor, they took somebody else in just before 11, & then another, I went out & complained to my guy & the clerk overheard me & said that those who went ahead of me was something different. I wasn't called in til 1130 AM, so a 1/2 an hour later from our scheduled appt. When I got in the lady hooked up to a virtual Doctor who was not even in same area, because when she said Good Morning, he said afternoon by him, was hard to understand, & the lady only came in to put something different up to my eye. I come out & my Partner picked out a pair of glasses & told me of the $$$ which was much more than their $79 with free exam! I said I won't even look, like the virtual doctor I will get them over the internet! a few minutes later the clerk tells me that the doctor couldn't even help me get a 20/20 vision prescription & need to go to a optometrist. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT come here. The exam is cheap for a reason. They do not have an in-house optometrist and they got both my prescription wrong and my brother's prescription wrong. They have a $40 exam cost with no refunds even when they get the prescription COMPLETELY WRONG. Their customer service is terrible and unpleasant. Their glasses have cheap quality but are expensive. After having a great experience with Stanton Optical in Escondido and the 2 pairs of glasses I'd recently purchased, I decided to spring for a 3rd prescription and was able to place my order over the phone, which was very convenient. I was on hold after reaching the national call center for longer than I would have preferred, but they eventually transferred me to the local store who took my credit card payment over the phone, so I didn't have to go in. The glasses arrived at the store within the promised time frame, and Nick (store manager) was very helpful and friendly, as before; he adjusted all 3 pairs, because I'd realized the fit wasn't comfortable, and when I told him the details of how they were uncomfortable, he was able to adjust in ways I didn't anticipate! Since I'm new to wearing glasses, it gave me a greater appreciation for the "free lifetime adjustments," which I'd previously expected would be unnecessary. Terrible experience with this place. 2 guys working that day, no other customers there when I arrived. Very little customer communication. No one told me what to expect. No one ever looked at my current prescription. Spent 2 hours for a completely bogus eye exam, 1st part with a "tech" and second in a booth with someone on a TV, not sure if she was supposed to be a eye doctor but the exam was bogus!! The results of the exam was that my contact prescription for my right eye went from a +4 to a +2.75 so the vision there improved?! Really!! The left eye got significantly worse so I questioned those results and was told I could schedule an exam with a "real" eye doctor 4 days later. Decided to take a hard pass. read more

My husband and I came here in on 6/4/2022.We wanted to give this local business a good chance. unfortunately, this place was a big mistake and rip off! First of all, there is no doctor on site. The girl at the front desk, is the check in and receptionist and does a few checks on your eyes. Then you go in a room and your doctor comes on the TV and gives you your eye test! Extremely not professional and not a great eye check up! Very impresonal, and surprised they gave us our eye test this way. it was not mentioned at all when we booked our eye appts. Next we bought two pairs each and paid for the extra insurance for damaged to our glasses. After spending over 1,387.00. We went today four months later, on 10/15/2022 to have my husbands lenses replaced because they were all scratched up. ( Cheap Lenes)The original employee said it would be FREE AS WE WERE TOLD WHEN WE PURCHASED THE EXTRA INSURANCE. So today when we came in, the employee said IT WOULD COST US $50.00 per glasses to replace. FORGET IT! The glasses are VERY CHEAP! NOT WORTH IT! I just used Yelp to get the phone number for this business to check on the status of my order and let it be known that I am an actual customer of this business and it makes no sense why my Yelp star rating and review would be placed in the not recommended category. Shame on you Yelp. I took valuable time out of my day to post a nice review on behalf of these deserving people. If I have to post a photo of my receipt to get credibility that is really ridiculous, but I will do it. Give them back the stars and please repost my review. I first went in at end of business on Saturday night and was greeted by Deanna. I asked a series of questions about the deal currently running. I had picked out three possible new frames that were not included in that deal. However after further discussion I found out that I could try to change out for new transitions on an old set of frames that I didn't want to part with. Deanna told me to bring them in the next day and they would see what they could do for me. The next day I came in about an hour before closing and Deanna greeted me again. She set me up with Gustavo, in the eye exam area and he was super friendly. I filled out my information on an iPad and was immediately intaked to start the exam with no waiting. We chatted a bit and before I knew it I had completed the high tech exam. Gustavo had my existing frames and new prescription. He quickly worked out pricing and completed the order process. He had to do a manual order, wasn't pushy to collect (but I paid up front anyway because I was comfortable with my experience and was grateful for the extremely fair pricing that I received) and then I was on my way. Today I did a follow up call with Corporate customer service who patched me through to Lupe at the store and she double checked and confirmed my order. Needed to replace scratched lenses. Store insisted on an eye exam despite my prescription from elsewhere is perfect. New prescription and glasses are badly out of focus and they says oops we got that one wrong. They redo eye exam via computer from Florida and the second batch of glasses are badly out of focus too. Scheduled 3rd appointment with in store optometrist. She says they got it wrong again. New 3rd glasses prescription is so bad I can't see 10 feet. 3 months later and four 70 mile round trips they realize not only is the prescription wrong but the distance between the pupils and height of the pupils are not correctly centered in the frames or lenses. Unsatisfied Customer!!!! Received glasses which didn't fit my needs. When attempting to fix the situation , I was told it was best for me to get a second pair. Manager explained he would waive one portion, I would just be paying for the frame ( of course under $45) sounded fair. Once at the register, he began by adding all these "recommendations" which brought my total to over $100 NO WAY!!! I had just purchased a pair for $250 wasn't in any way, paying another $100 for something that wasn't done correctly in the first place! When asked for my prescription, which wasn't given to me at the first visit. Manager continue by saying, I wasn't going to find any place open during these time, nor better prices then them.
