The waiting hallway

It gets the job done! I come here twice a week for vision therapy. This location is easy enough to find. They have their own private parking lot so no need to worry about parking. I believe this office provides a variety of services. The office is kept clean and sanitary. The fron desk can be a bit slow but if you need an eye exam I would highly recommend!

Dr. Love is great. I was due for my annual exam but needed a new doc. i found Escondido primary care on yelp and the reviews seemed good. The staff was friendly and made it easy to schedule my appointment. When I was there I had my 9 month old baby. There was a great play area for my little girl to keep entertained so I could focus on getting my new glasses. Dr. Love also told me the baby should have her eyes checked as well. I HAD NO IDEA!! I had no idea she could diagnose things like dyslexia. Not only was she great with me and my child but she also had another child in the waiting room with special needs. Dr love was so sweet and caring to that little boy I almost cried. Dr Love will always be our family optometrist.

Top is their prescription. Bottom is the correct prescription from Haug Optometry.

Tam Le Optometry - Light coming in from prescription sunglasses

I walked in a blind man, walked out seeing in 4K…read more My last eye exam was 3 years ago...new prescription required ASAP. The exam was comfortable, professional, and informative. Dr. Le answered all my crazy questions with patience and in a manner that was easy to understand. The entire process was surprisingly quick, but I never felt rushed. With desired eyeglass frames on-hand, Dr. Le crafted my prescription lenses on-site in only 15 minutes - shatter resistant, anti-glare, fatigue free blue-tint, fantastic. Bonus: Dr. Le was able to verify my eye coverage and it turned out the exam and cost of prescription lens were heavily discounted. Huzzah! I've been coming here for 6+ years. The 2nd star is for same day service and I'm just being nice. The receipt I got as pictured for the eyeglasses, does not show what I actually paid for. Just a custom amount, which I find very interesting. When I clean the new glasses and hold the top/bottom of frame to clean the lenses, you can feel them pinch on the lenses where normally it is a solid feeling. I brought them back and she "fixed" it but now a couple hours later it is still the same. The pictures show the misalignment and taken after the "fix." (The clear lenses and brown frames were all bought here). As much as I like these glass will unfortunately not last. I wanted new prescription polarized lenses for the prescription sunglasses I already had and they ran $230. This is with a 20% discount she said. I received them yesterday and they are poorly fitted as shown. My daughter said my sunglasses look ghetto now. I came in today and Dr. Tam said its normal to see clear around the edges because of the film they put. My older prescriptions lenses did not do this. She claims they did, but of course I would notice it and return them as well. She took them to the back and came back to show me my old ones and how they do it too. The sides now looked damaged on my old lenses like they were tinkered with. I was very frustrated. I know my lenses as I clean them and maybe only used them 50x in the past 2 years. The frames still look brand new. When I wanted a full refund she kept guilt tripping me that she is losing money asking me for $100 because she had to order them. I've never had a business ask this, even a small business. I asked her to show me her cost and it was $57. I was reluctant, but tired of the guilt trip so I paid the $57 and threw the lenses away. I can't believe she marks them up 400% from $57 to $230 and that's with a supposedly 20% discount? Other places I've gone to and now called, charge for the lenses and installation, so hopefully she doesn't say it's for labor. I called several other places after and most will do polarized lenses with a prescription for less than $150, so don't do what I did. I asked for receipts for the polarized lenses again. She would not give me one and says everything is in the system. So no receipt for what I paid for and threw away (which was in cash) and a business write off for her. After reading some of the bad reviews I understand why and how she replies back to them. I hate how this happened to me of course and hopefully doesn't happen with you

The North County Eye Center boasts about having a new office. However, the office design and…read moreoverall efficiency of operations are very poor. The patient is very taken to a room for preliminary tasks, but then directed to a holding center that's part of a hallway with four chairs. The TV is on, but there's no sound or close captioning. So why is it on? Perhaps to provide the only light in this area. Anyone trying to read printed matter will only have his or her eyes damaged. There's also a parade of workers going back and forth in an apparent exercise contest. Five minutes before my scheduled appointment, the doctor took another patient, thus signaling that he would be late for me. Later, he took another patient and finally noticed me but just mentioned something about the checking the system, while seeming clueless about my status. When concerns about the hallway/nook were expressed, he directed me to the main waiting room but expressed no reaction to awful design elements. A worker then approached me and asked my name, yet stated no reason for seeing me such as giving appointment status or even (gash) apologizing for the likely mix-up. Given all this on top of check-in issues, I requested a cancellation and refund. Yes, one efficiently of the office is collecting fees up front. That led to the office manager being summoned. She (no name given) appeared without much if any briefing from staff terms and claimed a willingness to discuss the problem but soon shut that down and ultimately gave personal insults instead of directing attention to the issues at hand. She called the scene distractful, but the source of any distraction was office inefficiency, of course. It didn't help that the waiting area, check-in desk and optical area are all in a close confined area. Apparently, square footage is precious in this new office. This action may have taken workers out of their comfort zone, but no patients voiced concern or seemed bothered. By the way, the counter clerk first opted to keep my insurance cards and ID as hostage while I filled out forms. Why? They had been processed. They are private possessions, not hers to keep. At no point were apologies given. That would have required professionalism and courtesy lacking in this office. And about that hallway with chairs? C'mon, see straight to get a real inner waiting room.
