I spent several hundred dollars on a pair of Rayban progressives in October of 2020. Weeks later, I'm notified the glasses are ready for pick up. The prescription in wrong and they are single vision glasses. Glasses were remade multiple times- another exam completed. No notification that my glasses were ready- so I called. Eyeglass World staff told me I'd already picked up my glasses. Um excuse me? I drive to the shop, am treated like a thief. I leave because they can't find the lasses. The "manager" calls, leaves message that my glasses are there ' they had not been remade to reflect exam and new progressive measurements- but nothing more will be done. I picked up the glasses - they are totally useless. I am stunned by this poor outcome as well as being treated so poorly by staff and management. Oh! So I called Eyeglass World customer service - in hopes that I could get some resolution. Before even conveying the concern to the rep, I was cut short and told "someone will give you a call". I had an early appointment here for an eye exam. I have Aetna insurance. I came in extra early because I wanted to verify that I was covered with my insurance. The receptionist said yes your covered. After the exam I was told to wait for someone to assist me with my new prescription. I sat down waiting and everyone seemed bothered to help me. Finally another employee asked me if have chosen my glasses I responded nobody has assisted me or given me any information. She chuckles and says oh yeah u can look around. I then tell her I would like to know what my insurance covers, she says not a lot and I owe 40$ for the eye exam. I paid and left. I told her I was not informed and upset, her reply was "not my fault I just got here" rude customer service. I will not be back here. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They don't only not inform you what your being charged before service but also are rude. read more

I was able to walk in and immediately be seen for an exam. Instead of having 1000 frames to choose from and hope you picked one that was on sale, they separated the ones on sale so you knew what selection to choose from. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Cathy help me select some frames and fit them for me. I went with the two for $78 special. I chose one as prescription sunglasses and the other for every day use. The glasses were ready in just over an hour and I couldn't be more pleased with the way I was treated and the quality of product I received. My husband and I came here just because it was close to home, but we both joined the eyesight club and keep coming here because of Heather! Her customer service is far above and beyond. First time back she remembered us by name, took the time to patiently show me how to put in, take out and care for my contacts and made us feel like we actually matter as customers. That level of customer service and care are rare to find anymore. We keep telling friends and family that they have to go to this location, but only to deal with Heather. I booked appointments for my husband and I online, super easy. We arrived a few minutes before our appointment and were told we were actually late because we had to complete paperwork and if we would have called to schedule our appointments we would have known that....it's hard for me to put into words how rude the tech was throughout the entire process. At one point before we saw the doctor I asked my husband if he wanted to leave because of how she treated us. She said things like, "take a clipboard and go sit by the wall" and "go sit down and someone will help you"...just a total lack of respect. The same tech performed my first three small tests, she literally said 5 words throughout, didn't explain anything and was agitated throughout. After my exam I asked which lenses I could look at, she seriously said, "well you can look at whatever you want" and then went back and sat down. She never approached us again. I am beyond thankful to Diedra (sp?) and Kellie. I think Diedra saw how I was treated and came over and offered to unlock the frames I wanted to see. Diedra's selection of frames for myself and my husband were spot on, she was beyond amazing. Kellie processed our paperwork and had us ready to go within a few minutes. We spent over $600.00 today in the store, on top of what insurance will pay- we both bought 2 pairs of glasses and contacts! This is business that would have been lost if Diedra hadn't stepped in. I fully understand people have bad days however no one deserves to be on the receiving end of that. We thanked Diedra at the end and shared we were ready to walk out before she came over. I'm not encouraging anyone to not visit this business or stay away, instead I strongly encourage management to increase training and manage staff accordingly. * I have the techs name however have chosen to protect her privacy and hope she has better days before she costs this location serious business. read more

Ordered a pair of glasses from them, waited the two weeks, then get a call to pick up my sunglasses. Problem, I did not order sunglasses, someone botched my order. Was told they would expedite my glasses. Two weeks later my glasses arrive, so much for expeditious service. Asked if they would be willing to make it right by selling me the sunglass lenses with a decent discount. I was only offered the 50% discount that was offered when I originally ordered my glasses, to try and get me to buy the second pair. I will not be back to this store again, except to have any warranty work done, if required. Update: Had a surprise last night when I got home. Had a message from the Eye Glass Manager, Debra, that the Store wanted to give me the glasses, due to the inconvenience caused to me. I called her this morning, stating I was willing to pay a discounted price for the glasses. She reiterated what she had stated earlier, that the glasses were free. With this store going above and beyond what I was attempting to do, I will continue to conduct my business with them. I forgot to put in the original review that the Staff of the Store were always professional, courteous and friendly. I would now give the Goodyear Eye Glass World 5 stars. read more

The manager Debra at this store in Goodyear is rude and hateful. Shes loud, pushy, obnoxious and not at all friendly. She acts like her position has gone to her head. My glasses I just purchased I needed the safety glasses for reading only and they were for distance only. She led me to believe the only way they could be corrected was to see the doctor. So my over $300.00 glasses cost me an additional $50.00. She is not at all helpful. I refused to speak with her reguarding my eye care. All the other staff were very professional, sweet girls. The only thing this store has going for it is the rest of the staff. Left to the manager the store would be best off to close the doors. My glasses will be in in a couple weeks and if I have to deal with this woman I will not pick them up until I can do so when she is gone. read more

Came in to have an eye exam was told I could use glasses or contacts so I ended up getting both. Staff was very friendly before I came in I received a phone call to update my insurance so I would save time when arriving. When arrived staff greeted me with a smile and was very helpful from checking me in to helping picking out glasses. Review is only for store staff and not the doctor. I already had an eye exam prescription and was just looking for glasses. I was blown away with the excellent customer service. I was immediately greeted, my insurance information was quickly pulled up and I found the cutest glasses. As someone whose had to wear glasses for 15 years, I've had a lot of experiences with different eyeglass stores. This was by far the best and I got everything I wanted for a fair price. I had a great experience and feel people should hear about the exceptional care I had. I went in only to peruse frames. While I was wandering around, someone asked if I needed an exam. My insurance is new to me, so I was unsure what would be covered. The gal that helped me figured out all of my pricing options up front before I committed to making an appointment. They were able to get my exam completed right there on the spot. How convenient. The best part of my visit, was my eye exam. I have been wearing the same contact lens prescription for 15 years and assumed everyone just dealt with uncomfortable contacts. Turns out I was wearing lenses that didn't fit. How has this gone on for 15 years and more than 3 different optometrists? The doctor changed my prescription and rechecked. She was still unhappy with the fit, so tried something else until she found a lens she was satisfied with. It's a wonderful change. Thank you for making me so much more comfortable. I appreciate the extra time given to me to make sure I received the best result. I went in to try on frames and walked out with AWESOME contacts, eye exam, and eyeglasses. I've never given a 5 star review, so don't let my 4 stars deter you. I will definitely return. read more

My original review was wiped out by the update, so to recap, eyeglass world in Goodyear AZ is advertising same-day service, the first lens I had made there was next day service. the second lens was out of stock and a one-week wait. They were friendly and the store looked great, but I was only there because of the same-day service claim. Nor did they offer to check with another store or even tell me that there are other stores in the area. After being contacted by someone from the corporate office, who promised to contact the store and have the manager contact me...no contact. The day has ended, once again no same day service. So they lost another star. On top of that, I looked for and found another eyeglass world who had the lens blank in stock, treated me like a king, and will have the lenses for me in the morning (I dropped the glasses off after their lab had already closed). They were surprised that the first store had not called them to check on their lens stock and get an inter-store delivery of the lens. read more

Customer service was HORRIBLE here. Bear in mind we live 40 miles from the city. We picked this eyeglass store because of location, low prices, same-day service. We made a special trip into town for our appointment, then we're told their technician wouldn't be in that day. Could pick up our 4 pairs of glasses Monday after 10:30. So I made a special trip and went back as instructed, only to find out my sunglasses were a special order and would take two weeks. We were told nothing about any special orders. I spoke to the manager and got a scripted "too bad so sad" response. Once we do get this all sorted out, I will never go here again! read more

For the past 7 years, our family of 4-5 has gone to this location. We spend $1,500 - $2,000 annually on glasses, so once we find a place that we like we stick with it. I had an appointment scheduled on Friday for my daughter to have her exam. Once I realized we were running late (3 minutes), I called to let them know that we were on our way, but stuck in traffic. I was told that they'd do their best, but we were the last appointment of the day. So, we get there 2 minutes late. Yes, 2 minutes. We were told that "I can't ask the Dr to stay late, so you're going to have to reschedule. You were supposed to be here at 5:30." Why would I ask for an appointment at 5:45 if I wanted to be there at 5:30? I work until 4:00, then have to go home & get my daughter, so I know that I can't get there at 5:30. I scheduled this appointment weeks in advance so I could get a 5:45 slot. Why wasn't I told when I called at 5:36 that it was already too late? I have a reminder text & email both confirming the appointment time of 5:45. So, it's okay for me to continue to drive there & they already knew that they were going to refuse to see us? They're unable to be flexible for 2 minutes if I'm late, but when you're there, it's okay for you to have to wait for an hour? I don't think so. Terrible customer service by Kelly in particular. She is the one who answered the phone & the one who "greeted" us. I don't know what's happened to this location, but they're not getting another dime from me. I would absolutely not recommend anyone go here. They don't care about you, just your money. read more

Where to start. I book my appointment 7/24 and while there the staff were short and rude not just with me but with customers on the phone as well. Then when I am checking out after my contact lens eye exam I am handed a prescription for glass and told to pay $39. I pay $39 and then I mention to the clerk that I need to schedule a follow-up a week later so the doctor can examine the contacts I will be trying out. The clerk says, "oh you were here for contacts?" that will be another $40. The staff there have NO IDEA what they are doing. They have their heads up their asses all the time. So then I come back a week later, yesterday 7/31/17 for my follow-up appointment and again poor customer service but that was no surprise. I have my re-examination and told one of the clerks will release my contact lens RX. I wait 45 min for them to hand me a piece of paper with my RX on it. I finally get it and attempt to order them online but the brand and specifics they wrote down do not add up to what the particular company's website says should be my RX so I chat with a rep from the online store and they said that likely EyeGlass World wrote down the wrong RX. I had the online store contact Eyeglass World this morning to get the correct RX and EyeGlass World stated they could not release that info because I never came back after the 7/24 appointment when I was in there yesterday and they released the RX already but due to poor hand-writing I and other companies are unable to discern what the hell was written on it. I then call Eyeglass World and ask why people are being told I never came in yesterday and the rep apologized and said no one entered that data into the computer but that she will be now. Unbelievable how unprofessional this place is. One and ONLY time I will ever shop at any EyeGlass World and I urge you to avoid a headache and go to Visionworks or Target Optical instead. read more

I was very uncomfortable with the service in this store which located at 15465 W Mcdowell Rd, Goodyear. I will stay away from Eyeglass World, just because the service in the store I had experienced. That was Ok in the back room for exam. I could see the exam doctors are friendly, but not the service in the front. I agree with Holly E. Overall, the service is rude, horrible store! My husband brought me there for the first time on Tuesday April 4,2017, I had eye exam and chosen my glasses. Then I went there three times without my husband for picking up and correcting the wrong glasses they made. They would say "How may I help you?" for the start, then you just wait there for long time, and they were avoiding me to ask about the waiting, there were no friendly feeling at all for the three times. They made the left glass wrong, I could not see anything clear whatever the size of the target I was looking at, so I called for an appointment. The lady on the phone sounded rude all the time, first she was unhappy to hear that they made the glass wrong, then sounded unwilling to schedule a time, and I expressed my appreciation for the earlier time she finally scheduled for me, and there was a silent for the end. I also work for a retail store, I work for the best interests on behalf of my work team and my customers. For customer service, every body had training. We have script to say. when I say it from script, I mean it from my actions, but they don't in this store. They would care their interests, you would meet their friendly service if you were lucky. My wife was the first to use this store. I was with her when Kathy assisted her. Kathy was absolutely extraordinary in her knowledge and service. I then decided to get new glass, yep getting old and needed bifocals. The exam was immediately done with no waiting. Dr Hellman was both professional and knowledgeable. No pressure to get any other services that were offered. She discussed those services with me and when I decline, she moved right on and completed my exam. Deirdre help me select my new frames and sunglasses. She was again a total delight to work with. Deidre informed me of the scratch protection plan offered and described it so throughly, that at such a low cost I purchased it, never any pressure to get it. When I picked up my order, it arrived a day early and Kathy called to let me know they were in. When I got to the store to pick them up. I tried on both pairs, no adjustments were necessary, but Kathy took the time to ask me question about how each pair felt on my face. We will be using this store in the future without hesitation. read more

THE WORST EXPERIANCE EVER, people stay away form this location... They are liars with absolutely no knowledge about eye care and will make up anything to tell you just to let you go. I am from Michigan and I tell you that the eye glass world in Rochester Hills where I frequently visited and purchased all of my eye glasses were wonderful and experienced and treat you like family unlike the goodyear location where everyone there has chip on their shoulder except for a gentleman called Angelo, he was the only person there that was friendly. My glasses were completely destroyed and I took them in for insurance work and requested new glasses and lenses which it took 3 weeks to get my lenses in and they never ordered my frames and when I finally got the phone call that my glasses were in come to find out that they just bent my old glassed back in shape just good enough to hold the new lenses and when I questioned them they told me that we just wanted to make sure you have glasses to wear first and now we will TRY to find your frames and order them which people I must tell you that is not the way you do business, my frames should have been ordered since day one but they just wanted to getaway from replacing my frames so PLEASE TRY and fined a different location... This location does not even deserve one star read more

This place is great! We were able to be seen same day, and my daughter got both an eyeglass AND contacts fitting at the same visit (never used contacts before but really wanted to try them). They were busy, which is always a good sign. Heather helped us to get an appt. right away, and she was incredibly patient with us. My daughter struggled for over an hour putting her contacts in, but Heather consistently went into the room to help, encourage, and give tips. Never once did she seem annoyed or irritated that we were taking so long. The Dr. was very mechanical and robotic like, but it was mostly amusing...the staff made up for it. Christine helped us with purchasing the glasses and getting the order in, and explained our benefits clearly to us. Overall this was a great experience. We've gone to another big name place for 3 years (NV) and always have issues, either with the billing or the lack of kind customer service. So glad I accidentally popped by this place and checked it out. Thank you Ladies! You've won long term customers! My other daughter and I will be coming in for our next visits as well!! read more

I've been there 3 times in the past. All three times the glasses have been delayed. The first time I was there I went in on a Saturday for my sister, they told her to pick up her glasses on the following Monday. I was in disbelieve of how fast they can have them ready. I was wrong, the glasses got delayed. On Monday they told us that the person who does them is out. On Tuesday same story, on Wednesday they said the person was in but had to get them done still... Never did I get a call back or even an update call! Called on Saturday they told us to pick them up by Monday. Same story when I took my parents. My fathers glasses were also delayed 2 weeks! What bothered me the most is when I called the employee did not apologize but talked over me and said that they told me it can be delayed. When I said it's been two weeks she again interrupted me and said "no, two weeks will be tomorrow". Costumer service is what bothers me more than delays!! That woman who provided me a crappy service was so out of touch as related to a good customer service. I visited the EyeglassWorld located in 15465 W Mcdowell Rd Goodyear on 18 Aug 15 around 550PM to get me new pair of glasses. This Hispanic looking woman with a lousy service must had either a bad day or something bad in her mouth, i guess.. She was not pleasant at all during the conversation as if she was mad at me; if she needs to be in a business that requires to interact with customers, she MUST learn how to greet customers first, or shouldn't be woking in that field at all. I showed her a new prescription (got in May 15) and my current glasses (got in Dec 14) and asked her if she could tell me how differences between my glasses and a new prescription. She said, they don't do those comparison, and I can take it to my doctor to do so. Ooook....that's fine. I told her my current glasses is for reading, and I need new pair(s) glasses for longer distance or both. I normally have two same pairs when I order (one for office another for home). She said I may need either bifocals or progressive, and its $310 for progressive and $85 less for the bifocals. I provided her my insurance; she said, I could save only $10 or $15 using my insurance which I realized that it won't cover much. I thought, her strange attitude was distracting, and I was kanda turned off by her bad attitute towards me by then. So I told her that I want to think about it. As soos as I said, she turned around and went back to her desk in the back while I'm still standing. How rude is that! If you expect to receive a pleasant customer service, then this is not the place. I went to the Target and ordered two pairs of glasses that evening. read more
