I recently left a poor review of this establishment, and I want to take a moment to advise an up-date. After my recent review I received a message from Jessica asking if I would reach out and explain my issue. I did, and she told me she would contact management....... Surprisingly, received a call from Kim at the store. Again, I expressed my disappointment regarding my experience. I said I was not complaining to get anything- I didn't want anything, just letting them know they had issues to address. Kim asked me to give her a week to talk to her people and she would get back to me. She called me tonight and I will say that Kim went above and beyond what was expected. I have been super patient with this company. It has taken about 4 visits (two weeks apart from each visit) to get my contacts which normally I go to Costco for in only one visit. They have also taken over a month to ship me my contacts. I still don't have ANY! So in total it has taken over three months to get contacts and who knows when they will show up. I will reach out again today to see when the contacts are coming..but it's not really worth my time at this point. It actually cost more to get my prescription here with my eye insurance than doing it out-of-pocket at Costco. The place is kind of odd too because the carpet is terrible and the machines to test your eyes are a little outdated or maybe just appeared a little dirty. I am not sure but I have been to a few different optometrists and the one at Walmart was much nicer although I prefer Costco at this point. Every appointment took about an hour of waiting and the next guy after me was mad since he had to wait too. I typically get an exam done in 25 minutes and contacts and glasses come in a few days. All in all the optometrist was great and the staff were nice. But the whole experience was very odd. I then read other comments on here since this was my first time writing a comment and found others had the same or similar experience! Update(one week has passed): I just called Nationwide after Labor Day and they said my contacts were ready to be picked up. I am wondering why they didn't call me or text or anything. The staff apologized but it seems like poor customer service since the contacts were probably there for two weeks and I assumed it would be shipped to my house. There is a $20 shipping fee of you ship them to your house. I was kind of hoping it would been smoother like "oh we are sorry, it has taken a few months to get you contacts. We will waive the shipping fee for you!" I don't think I will go back there again. Maybe I will just stick to Costco or Walmart since they seem to be better. Maybe this is the only Nationwide that has these issues? read more

Some of the staff wasn't very inviting at first, (I hope it's due to stress of covid restrictions) The optometrist was very professional, made my daughter and myself very relaxed and comfortable during our visit. I purchased prescription sunglasses elsewhere and they were too lose. I also had a pair of sunglasses where the pin came out, also not purchased there. I went into the Goodyear Arizona location and Jeff was very helpful. He fixed the glasses that were broken and adjusted the sunglasses to fit. No charge. He was gracious, professional and kind. I also appreciated that everyone was masked and they were following safety protocols. I will be back, hopefully to purchase some classes there in the future as needed. Great experience with Nationwide on Estrella Mountain Parkway. Rhonda Nell was the optometrist that day and she is the best. She was knowledgable and helped with glasses for my astigmatism while wearing contacts when driving. Who knew there was such a thing, I sure didn't! I see perfectly now when wearing contacts and driving. The new regular glasses made my vision sharp and clear and what a difference! The ladies in the office were fantastic, professional and so nice. I transferred to this office after moving, and once again, Nationwide Vision has been great. read more

Rude staff person. If you use your insurance to buy you glasses the price will double. I had new percription so I just wanted new lenses put in my frames my insurance paid 200.00 and I had to pay 250.00. 450.00 just for lenses! and every little thing is an expensive up grade. I wanted to see what they would charge without insurance so I said I wanted a new lenses in my sunglasses the charge was 230.00 (sunglasses are always more expensive) So they collect the 200.00 from my insurance and I payed full price for my lenses. I did tell my insurance company about this and they that is wrong and to let them know next time I get glasses. read more

I walked in with a pair of wore sunglasses that needed a little tweak. Usually stores ask for a receipt & make a big deal but Mr Jeff helped me fix my problem with no hassle. I am highly disappointed in this company! I ordered glasses and contacts on May 30, 2020 and have not received. First they put In a request to have my glasses mailed to my home which I never authorized and on top of that my package is missing and I still haven't received my contacts. I called to make an appointment, as a first time customer. The woman that answered the phone was polite enough, but she told me that there weren't any additional open appointments in 2021, which is totally fine. The VERY disappointing part was that she said that she didn't have the 2022 appointment schedule open at that moment, so she couldn't tell me what dates are currently available starting in 2022. Really? Today is 12/21/2001 and you're too lazy to look up the first available day/time in 2022. Some people just don't seem to appreciate that they have a job. read more

I see lesser reviews on here and I'm not sure why. We went in and got taken care of yesterday and had a great experience. They have a good selection of many brands both designer and off brand. Their service is really good from start to finish. Their prices are right in line with all the other places and certainly not too high. But it was easy and we had a good time. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience at your centers today in Goodyear. I made the mistake of going to the wrong center for our first appointment. There are two in Goodyear AZ and I thought I made it at the one closest to my house. They called over to the other to see if it was okay for me to come and they said it was, but when I got there I was denied service and asked to reschedule. I have been preparing my son with severe autism for this appointment all week and it would have taken a SMALL kindness to see us today and your center could not do that. We are new to the area and looking for a place to have our exams and care for our aging eyes. I'm only 42 and you have lost a lifetime of care out of one inability to show kindness to a disabled boy who now has to be prepared again to see the doctor on Monday. Really didn't appreciate the letter I received stating that I owed them money since I paid what they said I owed when I ordered my glasses. Plus the letter came 6 months after I picked up my glasses! This place is really rude, when I call its as if I'm a burden and I am interrupting their busy schedule. I was not able to show up to an appointment and when I called to reschedule the rep made a few comments that made me feel pretty stupid. I actually asked the rep if me calling was a burden. I'm going to finish getting my contact prescription and go elsewhere, where the employees don't act as if they have something better to do. I travel a lot for work and unfortunately left my glasses on the airplane. I needed someplace where I could have my prescription called in and surprisingly it was pretty hard to find....until i stumbled onto Nationwide Vision Center in Goodyear. I spoke with Jackie over the phone and she was amazing at pointing me in the right direction of what I needed to do. Once at the store, the assistant manager, i believe her name is Brandy, was absolutely amazing. What I loved about her as she was wearing glasses (in a glasses place) and was very knowledgeable in everything from glasses which I'm extremely particular and picky about to how often I should get my eyes checked. Completley unfriendly and Rude service. First indication should have been when I was placed on hold 3 times just to make the appointment, then was asked to repeat myself multiple times just to gather my personal and INS information. I come to my appointment 15min early for them to tell me they just confirmed my Ins but that my son was not covered under my health Insurance.. Uhm! No. Yes my son has private health Ins o pay way too much a month, I had to call my Ins in my own because the young rude receptionist was unhelpful and short and simply not helpful. After calling and confirming that I obviously have health Ins, the assistant Mgr took my paperwork to call her "corporate" office, mind you this is now 3:15 almost an hour later... She comes back to tell me Oh my, he does have Ins "I" had his DOB wrong.. WTF!!! OH and that little rude receptionist still wants to have an attitude and not apologize for "Their " error.. The first time going in was a bit of a hassle. I was able to express my issue with the manager and she went beyond her own control and was able to get me exactly what I wanted plus more. Don't schedule your appointment at 12:30 because they are taking lunch. I was seen 45minutes after scheduled time while no one else was being serviced or was waiting. They do not disclose this when scheduling an appointment. Brandi left much to be desired when it came to service in person and by phone. This place is ghetto considering the area. We live down the street and this location just looks run down. Stained carpet, dirty side tables in waiting area, the front chairs the receptionists sit at are covered in duck tape. No one is friendly here. No one. Not even the doctor. It was really weird and I have no plans on going back after we pick up my daughters glasses which takes 10-15 business days. That is also ridiculous. My daughters apt was at 5:45...we arrived at 5:35 a bit early I finished the paperwork within 2 minutes so we could see the doctor asap! .......We saw the doctor One hour and 15 minutes later....we had picked out glasses and tried on every pair there and still sat there waiting...the Doctor was very nice I did feel rushed by her though I wont lie. My daughter has heavy prescription glasses at 9 years old so I prefer if they take the time in her appointments. The glasses fit great I just felt that the Doctor rushed us after WE waited over an hour to SEE HER. So over all it was ok but I won't be back I prefer a more courteous experience for the amount of money I'm gonna spend on my daughters glasses because I pay for extras always its her little eyes after all. read more

Absolutely horrible, they just want you $$$. Bought glasses with lens protection, less than six month I went back with scratches all over the lenses. Was told"since we can be sure you only used the leans cleaner and cloth we gave you, we won't correct the problem". I have sunglasses with lens protection that I bought over 5 years ago in NY and I clean them with the cloth they gave me and not one scratch. Either they didn't apply it or its garbage. This was my first appointment with Nationwide Vision, made for my annual eye exam at the Goodyear, Az location. Kim answered the phone and was upbeat/chipper & able to get me in the next day. The location is an easy access off the 303. Having never worn glasses, I've noticed changes that I attributed to age. Was a little nervous going in wondering possible outcomes. I couldn't have been in better hands! Check-in, paperwork, tech pre-check, and then visiting with the Doctor was thorough and not rushed. I did not have a long wait. But, I did arrive 10 minutes early to tackle first-time paperwork. Dr. Finch relieved my anxieties and at 50+yrs I am joining the Glasses Gang. Brandi, Sabrina, Jacky, and Jeff were so helpful in picking out frames that fit my face. As a first-timer, I was clueless and there are so many selections. Don't be nervous, they are so helpful! Office is clean and as I mentioned, nice selection of frames. The only nit-pick? Carpet is a bit worn in the back and could def use an upgrade. Great experience, 5 *****! Not a friendly place, eye doctor ok, not the staff, especially the manager. She was rude after I did not purchase all that she wanted me to. I picked them up today and told her that I could not see clearly. "The manager", was talking to someone else and the staff member that was helping me told her I was not happy with the results. I broke my glasses. I really need my glasses for seeing distance. I can't drive without them. To begin, I asked my son if he would take me. He was running a little late we were approximately 10 minutes late getting to the appointment. They were nice about it. I did not have to wait very long few minutes is all. The exam was quick and pleasant. I have a medical problem in my right eye and there was no way they should do a dilated exam of that eye as I get one of those monthly from a retinal specialist. My frames were fitted by Brandi who is a complete sweetheart. There was just one little problem. They had the world's worse seating. It took my bottom 5 days to recuperate from the most uncomfortable seating ever. I think a brick would have been softer and more bottom shaped. Service was a 5 stars seating was minus 30 and actually caused me some significant discomfort. NATIONWIDE FIX IT...IT IS PAST BAD. read more

Horrible, just horrible all the way around. My appointment was for 2 and I didn't even get called back for the initial consult (or whatever that was) until almost 3. The girl that took me back looked over the sheets I had filled out and started entering things into the computer but asking me questions as she went along. Questions that I didn't answer because they held no bearing on my vision. She also complained the entire time about the office and how it wasn't her office, she was just filling in because they told her she had to go and it wasn't even anywhere near her house. She asked me if I wanted my eyes dilated and if I wanted the extra diabetes test. I declined both. She tried to push it once more and said we recommend it because your insurance won't pay for glasses or contacts again if there is something wrong later. I said I was aware of this, understood the consequences and still didn't want the tests. She asked if I wanted a blind spot test. I looked at the machine with its coating of dirt and said no. She then had me put my forehead on another machine which she did not clean before or after I touched it. When I was looking through the machine the inserts they use with the letters on them was filthy also. You could see so much dirt or whatever on them that some of the letters were hard to make out with our without corrected vision! Finally I get back to see the doctor and he asks again if I want those tests. I say no. He says I highly recommend them. I say, no thanks, I'm good. He says we'll have to reschedule. I'm thinking he wants me to reschedule those tests and we can proceed. But he's just standing there. Again he says we'll have to reschedule. So I say, "so you are telling me you are not going to do an exam today and I will not be getting a contact prescription from you today"? He says, "No. I don't feel comfortable giving you an exam without those tests". I left the room and walked straight out the door while he was telling his receptionist that I needed to reschedule. As if I would even bother. I was aware of the consequences of not having those additional tests, the consequences being money out of pocket IF I needed additional services. I would never recommend this place based on filthy conditions and lousy customer service. read more

This place is horrible. Please go somewhere else!!! First off, my husband went in over 2 months ago for an eye exam. He ordered and paid for contacts. He works a job where he is on call 24/7 so he had a hard time getting in for the follow up visit to actually pick up his contacts. They won't release his contacts until he goes in. So this place is forcing him to wear MONTHLY contacts for over 2 months straight. Seems to me that they really don't care. I even called to see if I can purchase a trial pair just to get him out of the old contacts and they said no. He finally has his follow up apt tomorrow. Secondly, our 4 year old son failed his vision test 3 times at his peds office so they recommended taking him to an optometrist. I made the apt for him at this location a week ago. His appointment was this morning and he was terrified to go so I spent days telling him how awesome it is getting an eye exam and how it'll be so cool to see all of the equipment. Anyways, we go in for his appointment and the receptionist decided to tell me that someone 'forgot' to call me and tell me our insurance won't cover his eye exam for 3 more weeks. Are you kidding me? You forgot to call? That's literally your job. So now I have a very upset toddler who believes he missed out on something really fun. Thanks a whole lot nationwide. I'll be taking our business elsewhere. The sad part is, is I'm sure the actual doctor is great. But you can't have brainless idiots working the front desk and expect to have good business. read more

I just picked up my glasses today. They were exactly what I ordered. I ordered sunglasses with Progressive lenses. So they can get incorrectly made if the measurements are not correct. I found the whole experience to be better than I had hoped for. I am a winter visitor, and broke my sunglasses while here visiting. On my initial visit to look at frames, they were very helpful and attentive. The initial frame I chose, I was advised to choose a larger frame because they are bifocals. I appreciated their suggestion and had a 2nd pair chosen just for that reason. They were ready before promised and only required a minor adjustment. I will definitely return next year when I am back to get another pair of non-sunglasses. Thank you Nationwide. read more

HORRIBLE! Long wait! I had appt. at 8:45 a.m. didn't go in until 10:30! When they called me they had my wrong birthday. Staff not nice at all always in a rush. We arrived 15 minutes before a scheduled appointment. The perfume scent in the office was so overpowering I had to wait outside, because it was triggering my asthma. My parents, with my father in his wheelchair, then waited an hour and were still not helped. When they asked how much longer it would be they were told that the staff had no idea how many people were still in front of them and it could be up to another hour. Absolutely ridiculous.
