Okay, Dr Beth Pyle-Smith is simply a God send. I was supposed to provide this review about 6months ago. To make a looong story short, my husband went to her practice because he was suffering from his left eye acutely looking towards his nose (left eye crossed). She saw him, didn't see anything she could definitely diagnose him with. She HIGHLY recommended we go to BARROWS NEURO EMERGENCY ROOM. She explained exactly what would happen, and she was 1000% spot on! They saw him, they treated him and reassured us that his acute left eye cross issue was not a (eye sight threatening) issue. Beware this office will charge you an arm and a leg for glasses and contact lenses! After my insurance I still paid out of pocket over $700 for my contacts and glasses!! I tried canceling within 24 hours of my order and they refused to refund my money. Costco only charges $245 for the exact same order. I advise everyone to not buy glasses or contacts from them. Sometimes they have a good selection of glasses. Pricey. But if you like designer frames come here. I dont like their blue light blocking or scratch resistant lenses because they always peeled. They blamed me and said it's the product I put on my face. But I wear no lotions or make up. I've been seeing the same optometrist and every time she always messes with my Rx. She lowers the power or she tries to add bifocals to them. Idk why. She assumed my age makes me blind. I've had to always go back to get it fixed so that prolonged the process of getting my glasses. They have a nice office. Nice front staff. But I'm tired of having to constantly wait and persuade her that I'm not having age related vision changes yet. read more

I tried two different pairs of contacts to see which would be a better fit for my eye. After trying both, I asked for them to order the first contact I tried because my eye adjusted better to it. I directly spoke with the lady who helped me and asked for them. She asked if I wanted to get them shipped to my house or have them sent to the store. I elected the store because it was much faster shipping. I asked when it would be there by and then showed up on that date to pick them up. When I arrived, the same lady who told me they'd get them shipped there said, "we were waiting for you to pick which one you wanted" (no, I'm not kidding). The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they at least tried to be nice although they failed in the competency department and delayed getting the contacts I needed unnecessarily. read more

Quite a few things to note about my experience over the last 2 years that I think will be helpful to those looking to have a well-rounded opinion of a place. 1. I've seen 2 different doctors - 1 per each yearly exam. The first doctor I saw was okay, the second doctor, Dr. Loe. I don't feel good about either experience I've had at Estrella Mtn. Eye Care. 2. Dr. Loe put a contact I dropped on the floor in my eye, instead of getting a new trial contact. Details: My eyes were dilated and then I was fitted for contacts. That doesn't make sense to me because I couldn't see the line on the contact to align it to put it in my eye (for astigmatism), and I couldn't tell if I had the contact ride side out either. I don't know if this is a standard practice, but from a customer point of view it didn't make sense at all. When I was trying to put my left contact in, I accidentally dropped it. I thought it was in my hand, and Dr. Loe and I looked around for it for a minute and found it on the carpet. I was VERY surprised that he rinsed it off with contact solution and looked it over and then put it in my left eye. I was shocked by this and didn't say anything because I thought "I guess it's ok? I don't know what's normal here." Then I drove home with the contacts in and felt something in my left eye under my contact. I tried to tough it out (not wise) and ended up with a scratched eye from a big piece of carpet fiber actually ON the contact when I took it out of my eye. 3. You will be taken from the appointment room straight to the lobby to discuss finances for glasses and or contacts. Details: I found this to be very uncomfortable because they have someone assigned to you to take you around while you try glasses on. I felt like I couldn't leave until I chose something and then I had to awkwardly say "I'm going to wait on purchasing these." For some people this service will be great, but I didn't appreciate being there for almost 2 hours total on a work day. I should've spoken up, but I didn't realize how long I'd be in the lobby for. Again, it's my fault for not speaking up, but just a heads up for the rest of you. 4. Receptionists are very rude and unprofessional. Details: I was told over the phone that I could come in to pick up my contact prescription anytime, without appointment, and that I'd also get another trial pair if they had them. I stopped in asked for those two things: prescription and extra trials if possible, the receptionist acted like I'd asked for the moon. So she then disappeared and said nothing but kept me waiting at the counter and then Dr. Loe appeared and asked me to come back. 5. Very uncomfortable experience having to randomly go back for an appointment I was told I didn't need in the first place. Plus, I had to confront Dr. Loe and explain why I needed another trial pair. Details: It was very unsettling to have to explain myself, what happened and everything to the doctor that did it! I never got an apology. I was told that the lens was cleaned off before it was put in my eye by him. It was so uncomfortable and I just wanted out of there. I was treated like a little kid who was in trouble for finding issue with what had happened and questioning it. All I asked for was my prescription WHICH WAS FINALIZED OVER THE PHONE, and a trial pair. I never asked to confront the Doctor or have another appointment - I was told I didn't need to be seen again. I didn't want to see Dr. Loe after the whole incident in the first place, so this was just humiliating. I will not be going back, and feel I could never go back after all of this. read more

On my previous visit for my Granddaughter and her vision needs I was very pleased however for our current visit they initially had issues because they had to make sure the doctor would accept Tricare now I am not in medical coding nor am I in billing however, would that not be something that should be verified prior to accepting the client which by the way as stated previously is a return client... That however, is not by complaint which is in reference to the cost of the lenses which apparently did not include frames although when I was explained the cost of the lenses I was told since I was a returning customer that the frames would be included in the price which I may have misunderstood what was said but for the $380 just for Lenses and when I brought up the extreme price I was told that these are the top of the line lenses that is why they were so expensive well that is funny because I spoke with the Optometry folks at Sam's Club and they told me I could have got frames and transition lenses for almost @200 cheaper so although they are fairly friendly I would not recommend them due to price gouging at it's best. read more

I was having a panic attack and about to go to the ER bcuz my contact felt like it was in the back of my eye socket. I was able to find the emergency phone line and the doctor answered after hours at around 9:15 pm and she was so helpful and reassuring! She ended up being right that the contact fell out but I had already irritated my eye and that's why it was feeling not normal. So thankful for her answering so late at night! Thank you!! read more

I have been coming to this office for about 6 years now. They've always been super nice and I've never had any issues with them. Just took our son for an eye exam and the doctor was extremely patient with him. The way she asked questions and would talk to him showed she is a professional. The staff was also patient. VERY! I took all three of my children and I know they could be crazy. I was losing it myself but I kid you not everyone seemed to be very understanding and wonderful. The doctor we saw, who I believe is the person replying to these reviews, seemed a lot more into talking than listening. She was not insightful at all and at some point started completely ignoring and interrupting us. Also be prepared to spend at least an hour here after you're seen by the doctor, feels a lot more like a car dealership. read more

That was only the beginning. The entire staff was the epitome professionalism, kindness, & they made me feel like meeting my needs, only mine, would make or break the entire outfit. I had a problem with my eye, I was given an appointment ASAP. I was early for my appointment and barely had time to fill out my New Patient paper work and the Doctor came out to get me. Yes, the Doctor himself! This may not be a daily routine but it was a great 1st impression. He explained everything, and wrote me a prescription. He told me to call over the weekend if I had any problems at all and scheduled me for follow up Monday morning. Staff are friendly, location is great, office is clean and inviting. If there were 6 stars, I'd give them that rating!! Can't say enough. After wearing contacts and glasses since age 14, this place is the only team who have the whole package of amazing customer service, outstanding follow up, and doctors who are thorough and do all they can do help you see as close to perfect as possible!! Dr. Pyle was so great. I have terrible vision and my distance prescription meant that for the last couple of years, I still needed to use reading glasses. Once I saw her, she tried a couple of combinations of contacts with a different script for each eye, in hopes that I could read better. The second combo worked and I can now see better for reading plus I still have perfect distance vision!! She is the ONLY doctor to try that approach with me in all these years (I'm almost 50 years old). Plus, she has a great sense of humor! The whole staff is welcoming and personable from the minute you walk in!!!! They are ALL top notch and amazing to deal with. Did I mention personable???? That's a huge deal!!!
