I've always used Wal-Mart Vision Center for eye exams, ordering glasses, &contacts. I've never had a problem with them. Our vision insurance changed for a short period & was not able to go to Walmart. I found Eye Trends &decided to go there. I received a quick non thorough exam (compared to the exams at Walmart), was given trial pairs (the Doctor was kind enough to give me not only my Rx trials but 3 different pairs of colored contacts to try & decided which I liked.) Fast-forward a few weeks &asked to have the glasses &contacts Rx faxed. When I went to order my contacts I realized they had faxed the Rx but with the wrong type/brand of contacts. So I was putting my contacts in this morning& while trying to clean the built up deposits off of them, the contact ripped. I had no other pair, a pair of classes with a very old Rx, that did not stay on my face. I then called Eye Trends, explained my situation &they said to come in it would be no problem. I arrived at Eye Trends &explained my situation again. I was told there would be a $10 fee to give me another pair of trial contacts. (never have been charged for another trial pair but I just complied & said okay.) (Turns out I had called a different Eye Trends location.) anyways she goes to get my trials& then tells me they don't keep my Rx strength in stock, they would have to order some. I was confused bc I had received a pair with my exam immediately after my exam, they didn't have to be "specially ordered". I was disappointed, becoming inpatient& not too happy, to say the least.. so I got my Rx& said well I'm here I might as well get my glasses.. fast forward that part& asked the other associate who was helping with my glasses what I needed to do to have them order another pair a trials. he then told me they couldn't do that, I would have to order& pay for an entire box to get a single pair of trial contacts. I was feed up. I had spent so much money on glasses, eye exams, etc with them yet they couldn't give me another pair of trial contacts until the ones I was ordering came in? I didn't understand. I understand this is not Walmart but anytime in the past I've had any problems with trial pairs it has neeeever been a problem or an extra charge? so I was at my limit with these people, called to cancel my glasses& was told I had to come BACK in the store for a refund to be processed.. I couldn't believe it so I told them it would probably be easier, faster, & more convenient to dispute the charge with my bank& I would just do that. Just like magic it was suddenly possible to process the $300 refund on the phone. I was told by both the Walmart Vision Center &Davis Vision to make sure they also refunded my benefits so I could go else where to get glasses. The man (John, I believe was his name) at Eye Trends told me they could not contact the insurance to let them know I needed a refund on the benefits& I would have to do that part... I called Davis Vision once again to get a refund on my benefits& was told I shouldn't have to do this but they would do it for me. The man at Davis put me on hold& called Eye Trends immediately &got my benefits reimbursed. Unless you want to be charged outrageously for simple things& completely lied to, I would not recommend going to Eye Trends on W Lake Houston Parkway by the Beltway. I hope this review helps others &maybe Eye Trends will change their morals ðics. read more
