Every year, I usually dread going to the optometry, dentist, etc so, I often drag it out as long as possible, which is until I am on my very last pair of contacts. Being forced to get an eye exam and finally having health benefits, I did thorough research and decided to give this place a try. It is located at the Asian Garden Mall, so it's super convenient for me since the boyfriend and I are there all the time. It's located in the back entrance on the left side when you walk in. We almost missed it because a booth was blocking it, but the vibrant colors and glass exhibit made it impossible to miss. When we walked in, we were greeted by a male receptionist which I forgot to ask his name, but he was super friendly and explained how my coverage works. After filing out the paper work, I waited about 10 minutes and Dr. Adrian took care of me. Usually, I am not comfortable with male doctors, so I was hesitant about this place, but within 5 minutes, Adrian had me completely comfortable, relaxed, and joking. He really listened to my concerns and explained each procedure thoroughly.which shows his extent of knowledge and wisdom. At other places, I feel like the doctors give you some generic answer and try to rush you out as soon as they can, but not here. After my eye exam, another receptionist, Cynthia, helped me picked out some frames. They have a pretty large selection, so the poor boyfriend had to deal with me trying on almost every pair for the next two hours. I am super meticulous when it comes to just about anything; I am Goldilocks when it comes to buying merchandise. So I will not buy anything unless I deem it perfect; thus, the search for the perfect frame had me trying on almost every pair. Cynthia was extremely helpful, friendly, honest, and the opposite of pushy. She was so honest, she told me when something looks horrible on me. I mean, how many of us have tried something and completely hated it, but had very aggressive sales people tell us how beautiful it looked?? I get that all the time, so I really appreciated her input and honesty. In fact, we completely eliminated rimless and bronze metal frames. I thought the bronze was decent, but Cynthia said " I don't see the love, and it just completely melts onto yours face". At that moment, I knew I finally found a place that I would be recommending to family and friends and would be coming to for many years to come. Even if I didn't have insurance, I would most likely come here because the prices are great and they have a curated selection of frames of all types. During the process, Dr. Adrian came out himself and even helped me select a few pair, but nothing fit me perfectly. We had all given up hope until the boyfriend pointed out one that Adrian, Cynthia and I overlooked. After two hours, instead of walking out empty handed, not only did I purchase a new pair of frame, I also walked out with a pair of Tory Burch polarized sunglasses that Adrian picked out for me!! We also to got to meet Adrian's lovely wife who stopped by and after talking to her, I felt like we have been friends for a very long time. So, if you want a place where people are honest, friendly, knowledgeable, and treat you like family, I would definitely recommend this place. I love finding a place where I can commit to and if I could, I would love to keep this place my little secret, but I do want them to be successful for many years to come, so that I can bring my kids here eventually. read more

I had such a great experience at Eye Smart I had to share. I called on a Sunday and they scheduled me in right away. I had a question about pricing that the front desk staff was unsure of and before I knew it the doctor was on the phone to answer my question! It meant a lot that the doctor took his time to talk to me (a new client) on the phone. Once I arrived at their brand new, clean and updated office, I walked in and every staff member there knew my name and said hi. The doctor came right out to introduce himself and shake my hand. Exceptional customer service all the way around. I was originally going to schedule my appointment at Costco because in the past they have always had the most reasonable prices. I was wrong, I had an exam for contacts, a free contact starter kit, and a trial set of contacts $20+ cheaper than what I would of paid at Costco. It also included any further recheck visits needed to make sure everything was going well with my new contact lenses. If you are looking for a clean facility, great value, knowledgeable staff, and superb customer service, look no more! read more

Dr. Adrian, there is lots to say about him and his new Eye Smart Office but I shall keep it short and sweet. First off he is awesome, I first checked the place out on Chinese New Years and all I wanted to know was the prices for an exam etc but as soon as he told me I was back within the hour to have the exam done and everything. Now being as I don't have insurance I paid out of pocket, the grand opening and Adrian himself made it possible to pay without worrying to much. Needless to say I walked out of there with my contacts, a solution set and contact lens case. Now as I have worn contacts for a few years now I am well aware of certain brands etc but the one Adrian prescribed is just exquisite. The contacts itself are so comfortable and it takes me a second literally to put them on, that's how comfortable they actually are. Love them. Now I promise to keep it short but it appear that's not at all true. Eye Smart again made me leave my old eye doctor, never forgotten, but as well as leaving him I also brought my mother in to see Adrian. Short and sweet she loved the service and she love the glasses selections she had. The deals were not bad either, paying $225 total for exam, frames and lens now that is just awesome. To summarize, Eye Smart is a great place to have contacts, and or glasses done, made, brought, etc. I love this place and Dr. Adrian who takes care of my contacts needs. read more

I am very happy with the selection and the brands offered when I went to Eye Smart. My mom bought "designer" sunglasses from another glasses store in Asian Garden Mall which turned out to be fake! I forget the store's name exactly (I think it was several stores down), but yes. I was disappointed to say the very least. Afterward, I went to Eye Smart and was pleasantly surprised how their glasses aren't Asian knockoffs. No offense to Asian Garden Mall, but the mall doesn't have the greatest quality and ethics. Eye Smart is definitely a nice contrast to most of the mall. Its relatively new, clean, and has a nice contemporary look. Very much appreciated how Dr. Nguyen speaks multiple languages. Vietnamese for my mom and English for me. No confusing accent which was very nice. Anyways, I am pleased with the Coach sunglasses I got from Eye Smart. I remember a lot of other glasses with like crystals and interesting designs I've never seen before, but I just got some simple sunglasses for a pretty good price. My kids needed glasses and I took them here. We were treated with great friendly service. The turn around time on the glasses was less than a week! All other optometry we've been to in the past years has taken a week sometimes more. Recently I had to get glasses for my dad and was able to get his glasses in 2 days! The office is very efficient and their is no wasted time or long wait time. The doctor is very caring and is very thorough with the eye exam. I've been going to Dr. Andrian for my eye exams for the last several years now and he will give it to you straight. If your eyes have gotten worse, he will adjust your prescription and give you some pointers on how to improve your vision. If your eyes have gotten better, he will give you a thumbs up and tell you to keep doing what you're doing. Happy to have gotten the latter of the two this year! (I got the former a couple of years ago). I've always gotten the Bausch and Lomb Purevision contacts on my previous visits. This year, Dr. Andrian prescribed the Bausch and Lomb Purevision 2 contacts for me which are amazing! Definitely less dryness and redness with these contacts. Eye Smart Optometry is also in a primo location. If you're traveling from the LA area like me, make sure to stop by Balut Pateros - Long An for the Balut, Banh Mi Che Cali for the Banh Mi & Che, or Dong Phuong Tofu for your Tofu pudding with Ginger syrup. Dr. Andrian Nguyen is one of the friendliest and most personable optometrist that I know. When I moved down to Orange County, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a good optometrist like the one I had in San Gabriel Valley, but Dr. Nguyen knows and lives his job! His office has a lot of the latest equipment which is good! And the office is in a convenient location and has a really friendly atmosphere from the actual staff to the way they decorate and make it fun for all ages! Dr. Nguyen was my optometrist back in KoreaTown, and I had to check out his new place in Westminster. I was impressed with the selection of glasses offered, and the top-notch service provided by his staff. The biggest reasons why I'm still sticking with Dr. Nguyen despite the long commute are his patience and integrity. He is always more than willing to answer my litany of questions (I've had previous issues with my eyes). I've been to other eye doctors, and they just seem to unnecessarily pressure me into purchasing new glasses. This has never been the case with Dr. Nguyen, which speaks to his character. I called for a quote for 1.67 lenses for a pair of frames that I have and they said that it is against their policy to quote prices on the phone. This place must charge too much that is why they do not quote a price over the phone. I will not drive 35 miles from Alhambra to their place as it is a waste of gas and time. Might as well get it done at a Korean Shop in Garden Grove as they want $80 for 1.67 high index lenses with AR coating and UV coating. I called 4 different places besides Eye Smart and all those other places quote prices over the phone. read more

I was on vacation and lost my glasses. It was on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30pm. I called around to about 10 places to find a doctor that could give me an eye exam. The bigger chains I called all were open, but their last appointment had already passed. Thankfully I found Andrian and Eye Smart. I called and they assured me that as long as I arrived before 6pm, that I would be seen by the doctor and could most likely leave with a trial pair of contacts. The doctor saw me right away, and he was very patient and thorough. I was in and out in about 30 minutes with a new prescription and a pair of contact lenses. They were all wonderful and saved my vacation. I also don't have any vision insurance, and the exam was very affordable. read more

I got my prescription sunglasses done here and couldn't be happier. Dr. Andrian and his optician Kevin were very professional, knowledgeable and nice. Kevin explained a lot of optics to me while I was inquiring about the correct type of glasses. When I picked up my glasses and took them home I noticed that it wasn't quite tinted enough. I facebook messaged them and Dr.Andrian responded right away. He told me to bring them in and they would darken the tint to my liking, free of charge. I was so impressed when I gave them a call for a same day eye exam appointment! I haven't had an eye exam in ages and the receptionist (I didn't catch his name) was so personable and professional. It was also comforting that he spoke fluent English and was able to answer my questions for me very thoroughly.
