While my stint in Bushwick was relatively short lived and I love being back on Long Island, I fondly remember and miss my wonderful pad located in the heart of bushwick. I worked directly with Oz, who is the Property Manager for Extreme Homes. He was always a phone call or text away for any issues or situation that arose. He's a straight shooter- He's honest, polite, funny, and very professional. Also, big shoutout to Diego, who is their handman/super. When you live in or sublease a place for that long, little things need fixing every now and then. Like anything, an apartment needs maintenance and proper upkeep. Anytime something needed fixing or adjusting, Diego was always there in a jiff. It seems he can do anything, from painting to fixing door jams to swapping out lights to adjusting the a/c. He's a man of many talents! Oh and how could I forget, they had a team that would take the garbage out from our outdoor bins to the street each garbage day. Hello, Let me start by saying, living under this management company has been GREAT!!! I have been living under extreme homes since I moved to NYC in 2013. I have lived in three apartment building under this management company, and in each place we barley had any problems. They have been great at responding to apartment issues such as plumbing, lighting, (even changing our light bulbs in high ceilings) whatever the issue has been, they are alway trying to solve it. Honestly, I'm a little afraid to share my story because these people are so shady. I don't even know how to tell this story so I don't go on and on and on about how bad these people are. so THE SHORT OF IT is: they are very bad people. I have met other people who have dealt with them, and I have spoken to multiple real estate lawyers in the city who warn against doing any kind of business with them. THE LONG: These people have made the last two months of my life a living hell! They kept lying to me, and manipulating me. Every step of the way, was brow beating negotiations, they kept walking away, telling me they wouldn't sell me the house...then agreeing to sell me the house...all the way up until I signed a contract they agreed to. I took a day off of work, hired an inspecter etc. However, it was yet another stalling tactic because they wouldn't sign! They kept lying even after that, telling me they didn't sign the contract because my lawyer screwed it up. I signed a contract that was sent over by THEIR lawyer....they will lie, lie, lie to get their way, and to keep you on the hook while they try to find a higher bid. They apparently sue everyone, and my lawyer was very cautious about dealing with them from the beginning. Apparently they try to force you into "time is of the essence" clauses in your contract that end up in a scam where they steal your deposit. I wouldn't do that clause and they harassed me at work for two weeks. Always Mondays and Tuesdays when they didn't find a higher paying customer over the weekend. It was such a complete mind screw. I HATE these people. Even after I signed the contract, they continued to try to sell the house out from under me. Basically the only way Avi would sell me the house was without signing a contract (I mean, is that nuts or what?). He said (after a fight because they wouldn't sign the contract) "do you want the house" "you know I want the house" "Do you want the house?" "come on, you know I want the house" "Then show up on May 10th, with a check and a letter of apology" I'm telling you, these people are AWFUL. On a crazy power trip, I think they get off on dangling reasonably priced real estate over your head like its heroin, and you need a fix. To be honest, I knew these were not nice people soon after we started working with them. I was going to buy a house and have them renovate it, but then I found this women on Yelp (who has since removed her review, I don't know why) who let me come see the house they renovated for her and it was FALLING apart a year later. That's not even the worst of it, they left her without a gas line and boiler in the middle of winter, then somehow convinced the lawyer (they had recommended to her) to release the $100,000 left in escrow...then WALKED away. She STILL does not have heat because it takes forever to get the permits, and she has had to spend thousands of dollars on it. I mean, the amount of dirty involved is unimaginable (not to mention the house was delivered with leaky plumbing, and they had to break through all the dry wall on the first floor to find the leak right after they moved into their freezing cold house, and discovered they didn't put in insulation). Anyhoo, plaster work, shower tiles are cracked floor boards are coming off their beams, they never finished her back yard as promised etc etc. So, I guess I feel like it was bad karma to do any business with them after knowing the kinds of monsters they were...and I kind of got what I deserved. I've got to tell you this was one of the worst, most f'd up experiences of my life. I am not a naive person, or a pushover and in addition my family works in real estate, so its not as if I didn't have anyone advising me on this. These people are TERRIBLE. don't even look, because it will take you down a dark freakin' road. If you do get into business with them, be sure you are using the best possible lawyer...someone who will be sure to advise you how to be SAFE (if that is even possible...) read more

These people were horrible to deal with. Very difficult to get ahold of and non-responsive. If we did get ahold of them, they were in no rush to get anything fixed. For the last six months of our lease, our dryer and the hallway lights/smoke detector weren't working properly, and they were not fixed. The worst thing, which we shouldn't have let happen, is that no one even viewed our apt with us before we moved in. In fact, the old tenants were STILL THERE when Extreme gave us the keys to move in. So we brought some suitcases and other belongings, and when we opened the door, a previous tenant was still there packing the last of her things. Meaning we had to leave things there with the previous tenants still having keys. And it had not been cleaned, nor painted. The kitchen cupboards were COATED in grease, and still are now that we're moving out, so now it's our responsibility to clean it. Luckily, I took a video of the damage done to the walls when we moved in, but I assume we're going to have trouble getting our deposit from the new landlord (it switched about four months ago - how convenient) who is no better than Extreme (Arron Latimer, Soha LLC -- beware of him as well!). We also had roaches and mice who lived IN OUR STOVE. They finally sent an exterminator to deal with the mouse, which wouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't running around all over our countertops and clean dishes/pans on the stove and pooping all over the kitchen counter. Non-deserving of any form of star. Wish I would have read Yelp reviews before signing with this group. Their staff is unprofessional and unresponsive to tenant needs. Their facilities are unkempt and rarely cleaned. I moved into a brand new building only to find a bevy of issues. The building was cheaply constructed - though brand new so I could "manage" with flaws. Until harsh NYC winter hits... My heat did not work for weeks - the mgmt team was unresponsive. Hot water does not work. Plumbing is routed backwards in the apartment - only way to get hot water in shower is to turn on hot water in bathroom sink. Front door does not lock which is a concern in a developing neighborhood. Fire apartment visits often due to faulty wiring in laundry room. Burnt out light bulbs lead to dangerous corridors. Have lived in NYC for several years and have not experienced half the concerns in historic older buildings as have experienced with this mgmt team in this building. Not worth it ! Keep hunting for your new home... This is not it. read more
