For context, I HATE brokers, especially New York brokers, they are always unorganized, anxious, and often don't listen to anything I say. I highly recommend hitting her up if you are looking for an apartment in Brooklyn - truly the best. I cannot recommend Craig Paulson highly enough!…read more I was going through a very challenging personal situation when I started my apartment search, and Craig treated me with immense kindness, empathy, and respect from day one. He went above and beyond to show me a lovely apartment in Brooklyn--complete with a private backyard--owned by a wonderful mother-and-son landlord team. But what truly set Craig apart was his dedication: he was quick in responding to communications and stuck with me through the entire application process, guiding me through every detail until the keys were in my hand. His professionalism, patience, and genuine care turned a stressful time into a successful move. I am incredibly grateful for everything he did for me. Seriously-- heed the reviews…read more Omar was 20 minutes late to our apartment viewing before calling to say he couldn't make it-- he seemed apologetic and gave us the code to let us into the apartment, so I shrugged it off. As it turns out, this wasn't a one-off and he often cancels on his clients with no notice. After viewing, we were pressured into putting in a competitive offer above the listed price, plus a 15% broker fee (absurd, but we were unfamiliar with the renting landscape in NYC after the FARE Act went into effect). It took almost two weeks, and many, many calls, emails, and texts from both of us and our guarantors (we spent literally hours trying to get in touch with Omar), to finally be sent the application materials. ANOTHER week passed with no reply or acknowledgement before we gave up on the unit. The whole experience left us feeling frustrated and ignored. Do yourself a favor, avoid this group and any of their units. No matter how much you like the apartment, there will be another one-- without the headache.

However, after we submitted our application, he disappeared for weeks, ignoring multiple calls and messages. He finally confirmed our approval, but pushed us to pay an upfront broker fee to receive a discounted monthly rent, instead of just letting us pay the full advertised rent (which was listed with no broker fee). Because he was being incredibly pushy about the upfront fee, we felt uncomfortable and proposed a compromise: paying half the fee before moving in and the other half after moving. He refused. When we reiterated we would just pay the full advertised rent with no broker fee, he stopped responding completely. The communication was terrible and the experience was very frustrating. Several other brokers said it would be difficult, perhaps impossible, to sell then and suggested I wait until Spring. Zats had a photographer taking pictures the day after I signed the selling agreement and held an open house about 7 days later. He held two other open houses and I had multiple bids in 18 days. I especially appreciated that he called me on almost every one of those 18 days to update me on what had happened that day with my apartment.
