To be honest-- I had no idea brokers like Richard even existed in New York. He was extremely polite, friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. If you are on the hunt for your first NYC apartment, you probably figured out the process is quite strenuous. My husband and I moved from Texas and went thru at least 10 brokers and looked at over 25 apartments and had no luck. I do not recommend working with the Litvak team especially Milena Solter. We saw a condo listing that The Litvak Team posted on streeteasy. We reached out and went to go see the listing and met Milena Solter. Since its our first time applying for a condo and wanted to make sure that we ask questions before we submit our application. We sent questions to her and she said she is waiting to hear back from the owner. Couple days go by we asked her if she heard anything back from the owner and she said the owner received an application which was already approved and the listing is no longer available. We thought oh well it didn't work out. and we went on streeteasy and saw the same condo was having an open house that weekend which was posted by Milena Solter. We were speechless to find out that she just right out lied to us about the listing. If a real estate agent can lie to you like this and what else is she lying about any listings that she is in charge of? I am so glad we didn't go with her because shortly after we were able to find our dream apt with a trustworthy real estate agent. Milena was extremely communicative, helpful, professional, proactive, organized and kind from start to finish, and made what is usually a stressful process very easy! -She immediately responded to our inquiry about an apartment we saw advertised (and that unit truly existed - ie there was no "click-bait", as we experienced with other brokers), and did not try to upsell us or show us anything that did not fit *exactly* what we were looking for. -Before we even saw the apartment, she sent us all of the renter requirements/info we needed. -We were able to book an appointment to see the place that day (we saw the unit with her partner James Fierro, who was also excellent). -While that particular unit did not work with our timeline (it was renting more than a month before our move date), she and James kept in touch because another identical unit was coming up for rent, and they let us see that one right away. Their flexibility with our timeline and attentiveness to what we were looking for was much appreciated. -Milena showed us this second unit (which we ended up renting), and like James, took the time to show us all the building facilities and answer all questions. -We ended up applying for this unit and the application process was easy, fast and seamless. Milena handled our application and lease signing process (which, outside of handing Milena our checks to deliver to the management company, was all done online - also a plus), and responded to every question and email (sometimes almost instantaneously!), and made sure that everything was processed correctly (that checks were delivered, was never late to/never cancelled a call or meeting with us, updated us on the status of every step, made sure we received all the move in materials/countersigned lease, etc.). Seriously, I cannot express how communicative she was - there were never any doubts along the way. Milena was so thoughtful that she emailed us after our move-in date to make sure that everything went smoothly. You hear so many stories of how buying/selling a home, especially in new New York, is a nightmare, but working with the Litvak team was the opposite: They make it easy!
