I can't say enough good things about Benjamin Realty. I found them by answering an ad they had placed on Craigslist for an apartment. Benjamin called me back (by calling me back, he was already a step ahead of many of the brokers I contacted) and we made an appointment to meet at their office. As a side note, parking is pretty convenient - plenty of meters out front or on the nearest side street, and free on the block behind the office. When I arrived, Benjamin greeted me and we chatted for a moment, and then he indicated that Jason would be taking me to see a couple of places. I had indicated that I was on a tight schedule in regards to finding a place, and they told me they would find me something that day. Jason was friendly, warm, professional, humorous, and unbelievably helpful. I was fairly clear in my own mind what I wanted in an apartment, but, being new to New York and knowing absolutely nothing about Queens, was open in regards to what neighborhood I ended up in as well as some other factors. I have no idea how many apartments we looked at, but it seemed like a lot. Jason was respectful in regards to what I was looking for in an apartment - he even thanked me when I nixed a place based on the creepy hallway (I would have looked at it, but he was having trouble getting a hold of the super). And they were good on their promise - the last place they showed me, I liked, and I came back two days later to put in an application. Fortunately, I did not get accepted to that apartment. Jason asked whether I'd want to see studios and I said that I really didn't, but he encouraged me to take a look at this one place and he would check to see if he had anything else available. When I arrived for our second appointment, I said that I REALLY didn't want to see the studio but he encouraged me to do so anyway. I have had many great experiences with salespeople who encourage me to try something slightly different than what I was originally looking for - if they are really great at their job, they really do know what they are talking about! We arrived at the studio - in yet another neighborhood - and it had been listed incorrectly - it was a one bedroom! And it was more perfect than I could have hoped for. I applied for it right away and was accepted. Throughout the process, both Benjamin and Jason were professional, friendly and helpful. They were also great at following up, keeping their promises, and being on time. They have fee and no-fee apartments - mine had a fee, and it was worth every penny! read more

REMEMBER WHO DID THIS TO YOU! a little dated, since I used these guys last fall, but I forgot to write them a review back then. as all New Yorkers know, that month or so you spend apartment hunting is goddamn torture! while I was looking to upgrade from Rego Parkistan to Forest Thrills, a bunch of Craigslist calls that I placed went to voicemails that never responded back, never picked up, didn't speak a lick of English, or were wrong numbers. oh, one realty company I went to - I walked into their office and was told they didn't have any forms in English. not as in "we ran out", as in "we don't ever". oh yeah, I'm definitely gonna sign legal documents with my personal information away in a foreign language! nice try, perhaps you have a bright career as an email scammer. anyway, I was getting pretty exhausted with the search when I made a call to these guys. I met with Mitch and Benjamin, told them some information about my budget, type of place I was looking for, etc, and the next day we went to see a few apartments. they were honest guys and I liked that they weren't pushy like some real estate agents are. they did a good job with all the documentation and finances, getting everything in order and processed. I had to press them a little with my schedule since I had work and travel obligations forcing my schedule, but everything worked out. really, it was worth paying a little money to get the sweet apartment I live in now. the actual office is very nice and modern. I've seen some shady real estate offices, lemme tell you. there is plenty of parking nearby, as well as your mass transit connections, so it's easy to get to. they have many listings all over Queens, of all kinds of residences and budgets, so there's something for everyone. thanks, Benjamin Realty! read more

Here's my story with this agency. I called them on Saturday at 9am. Ben picked up the phone and we discussed my requirements. He said he needed time to look over his listing and that he would call me back in a few hours. Ben called me back in one hour, said he had a couple of apartments in Queens that matched my requirement. We set up a meeting in his office same day on Saturday. I showed up in his office, signed a disclosure agreement and we went in his car to "view" apartments. I loved the very first apartment Ben showed me (in Elmhurst). It was a huge, recently renovated one-bedroom, just a 3-minute walk from subway. The size of the living room with foyer alone was the same as the entire apartment of about the same price another broker showed me in Queens a few days earlier. I didn't see the point in viewing other apartments. We returned to his office where I made a deposit and signed some papers. The same day on Saturday, I emailed Ben my income confirmation, etc. The apartment was mine the next week. read more

Finding an apartment to rent in Queens is a tough process. Therefore, I am very lucky that a friend of mine put me in touch with Ben from Benjamin Realty Group. Though they are based in Forest Hills, they have apartments all over the borough of Queens, in Elmhurst, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, Jackson Heights and other neighborhoods. Ben talked me through the rental process, explained the qualification guidelines for landlords, and suggested a few buildings and neighborhoods that would fit my budget and commute. He was easygoing, and never pressured me or tried to sell me on an apartment. VERY IMPORTANT - he showed my roommate and I only apartments that we wanted to see and that we could reasonably expect to get approved for. Ben was honest and efficient the entire time we spent with him. And his connections with the landlords and property owners was key when it came time for us to get approved. For comparison, when I called other offices, the brokers and agents were often very rude, if they even picked up at all. When I tried Craigslist, there were so many scams, bait-and-switch advertisements, and false postings that I wasted 2 weeks of searching! Professionalism got a new name! Benjamin Realty Group... It just took a call from us to get the best service on offer. After leaving a voicemail, we got a call back immediately. It was Adrianna who called us and walked us through the whole process and within few hours we were with her looking at apartments!!! She understood our needs to last details and showed us 4 apartments. Interestingly we liked 3 of them and that explains the how good Adrianna is. She knew what we wanted and got us what we wanted. We moved to the Kew Gardens area in Queens, from Chicago IL, in June 2014 and Rose at Benjamin Realty was fantastic. I live in Rego Park in a specious 1-bedroom apartment thanks to this company. I was treated very professionally from the get go. The agent was on time and explained me everything in great details. I wan't rushed (other agents were very pushy and rushed me while looking at apts). I came back the next day to file an application. I wanted to give an honest review of my experience with Benjamin realty and my salesperson Annette. Annette was patient, easy going, diligent and always available. My schedule was a tight one and I had very specific parameters. Annette worked with me every step of the way and assured me we would find something in my budget and area specifications. Since this realty group has such long standing and amazing connections, I was able to see a unit that was in process of being renovated in my desired location. I wanted to wait a couple of months before I went ahead and reviewed Benjamin Realty, and I'm very glad to say that my feelings today are just as positive as they were a few months back. I was in a very sticky situation and was originally looking to move to Astoria with a roommate, but I backed down last minute because things just didn't feel right. I know, I know, it was pretty messed up of me but everyone always says you should follow your instincts, so I did. So we had an apartment lined up and all we needed to do was lock it in. The minute I got cold feet though, I knew I wanted to be in Forest Hills: a beautiful, clean and safe neighborhood that I use to work in and know like the back of my hand. I looked up (and called) several realty's in the area and only Benjamin Realty seemed to have what I wanted. I gave Ben a call to let him know what I was looking for and he said he would see what he had available and have someone give me a call back. A couple of hours later, I received a call from Rose (who was just a DELIGHT to work with--she was always calling me to keep me up to date with things and was always in a great positive mood). I told her my situation upfront and asked her to be honest with me, would she be able to find me a place? She said yes and I believed her (as naive as that may be--but again, I went with my instincts). So i go to the office and we hopped in her car, took a look at literally TWO apartments and I had made up my mind. I put in an application to a studio apartment in a wonderful area of Forest Hills, just two blocks from the train station. The building is very well maintained and even has scented lamps, so every floor does not smell like someone's cooking! There are laundry machines in the basement, and not one single bug or mouse to be found. I'm so happy I made the decisions I made and would recommend this realty anyday. read more

My husband and I had to relocate for his job from Chicago Suburbs to Rego Park, Queens area in Sept 2011. My husband's company enlisted Benjamin Realty group to help us find an apt. in a mere 6 hours. Finding a nice apt. in NYC is extremely stressufl and fast moving but Benjamin had his agent Adrianna Pizzolorusso show us several places in Rego Park/Forest Hills area that we in our price range. Adrianna was extremely helpful, friendly and eager to help us find what we needed in such a short frame of time. Even though the day we were looking the hurricane was supposed to hit NYC, she remained calm and finished out her day with us until we found the right place for us. Great experience!! I called BRG late on Saturday to inquire about an apartment I saw online,-Ben the owner quickly set up and appointment for the very next day -Sunday! We walked in and met Josh! Josh was super friendly and accommodating and listen to all of our needs and wants in an apartment. Josh patiently drove us around to five different apartments most importantly they were all in our price range. Not only did he drive us around he gave us some insight on the neighborhoods.. Never felt pressure or pushed... We decided on the 5th apartment but we weren't ready to commit we wanted to look around more since I just started the looking process. The minute we got home we called and said we like it because it was such a great deal vs what other luxury apartments were renting for.Josh was super responsive answers every text and returned calls promptly.The application process was tedious only Bc the apartment wanted so many documents. Josh was very helpful with this process allowing us to send emails with piece by piece information never rushing us, but always kept us informed. Best broker experience in NYC. I'm a long-time Yelp user, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review. I found the Benjamin Realty Group on Yelp, and contacted them because of the positive reviews. I lived in New York previously, but had been living out of state for a number of years, and was planning to relocate back to the city for work. I called Ben a couple of months before my projected move date, and he gave me advice about when to plan an interim trip to NY to look for apartments. I scheduled an appointment a few days before my apartment-search trip (about 3 weeks before my move date), and Josh took us out to look at potential places in the Forest Hills vicinity. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the neighborhood and attentive to our needs: he pointed out public transit options to my office, neighborhood hot spots, potential parking difficulties, and individual building requirements. We saw several places we would have been okay with--all with the qualities were were looking for, and all within our stated budget--but we weren't quite ready to pull the trigger. A few days later, he met us again and showed us two places that we absolutely loved, and immediately put in an application for one of them. Because we were in town for just a few days and hoping to find a place and sign a lease within that short timeframe, there was a lot of work to be done. Josh and Ben were both incredibly attentive and responsive, and helped us through all the steps of the application and lease-signing process. Ben accompanied me to the lease signing (which he went out of his way to organize around my work and travel schedule) just in time to make my flight out of town (thanks to Ben driving me back from the leasing office). It was clear that they have incredibly strong relationships with building owners and managers in the area. After all was settled, Josh called to check in and make sure that all my questions had been answered, and to offer any assistance should I need it going forward. I must have contacted 20 different brokers over the course of this process, and although I had lived in NY previously (in Brooklyn), I was new to Queens rentals and to the changes in the rental market since I left. I can't imagine a better guide through this process. The NYC rental market is daunting enough on its own, and the prospect of working with a broker even more so. But Josh and Ben were everything you would want from a broker: they were experts, allies, and advocates. Couldn't recommend them more wholeheartedly. read more

He was very pushy and called from a blocked number in response to a craigslist ad that I had emailed about. This review is long overdue! Since we live out of state and didn't know anyone (friends & family) who needed to rent our coop studio apartment in Queens, we had to work with an agent. (This was in 2015.) We finally chose Benjamin Realty Group because of the positive reviews that we read on Yelp. We initially contacted the company via their website. We immediately got a response from Ofir Binyamin (Benjamin) at around 11 pm, promising to call us the following day--which he did. Anyone who has a coop apartment in NYC to sublet knows that it is a daunting process, to say the least. Upon giving Benjamin the go ahead to list our apartment for rent, he had it listed almost immediately. A few days later, Benjamin even met with one of our siblings during a long holiday weekend to get the keys to the apartment. He took pictures of the apartment and the building and posted it that night! He always replied to all of our emails within a couple of minutes to just a few hours from the time it was sent out. When we requested a couple of changes to be made on the listing, he did it instantaneously. Most of our contacts were primarily emails with a few phone calls. We never had to meet with him. Benjamin familiarized himself with the coop's application rental requirements and details. Actually, he knows a lot more about it than we do. He dealt with the coop's management company and handled all the necessities--application requirements, documents, scheduling the applicant to meet with the board, etc. When the whole process was finally completed and the applicant was approved by the board, Benjamin sent us a copy of the lease and pertinent paperwork with the tracking number. Considering that we were just looking to sublet a small studio apartment, we were constantly amazed by the top-notch service that Benjamin consistently provided. You would think that it was a high price sales listing by the service he provided! Benjamin was always on top of things and proactive from start to finish. He was incredibly very professional at all times. Not once did Benjamin disappoint us. We highly recommend Benjamin at Benjamin Realty Group to anyone who is looking to list their apartments for rent. In fact, we strongly suggest to anyone that you offer to pay the broker's fee. There is an enormous amount of effort and time that is involved and required to especially get a coop apartment rented in NYC. Benjamin earned every cent of his broker's fee plus more. He made this subletting process easy, painless, and hassle-free for us. This was especially important for us since we live out of state. Otherwise, we're certain that it would have been a nightmare, had we chosen another option. We're so thankful that out of all the real estate firms that we could have chosen, we had the foresight to pick Benjamin Realty Group. read more

Fantastic real estate office. Hard to find a real estate agency who work hard on finding you the right place and are absolutely nice and professional. I've used them twice. Pavel helped me move into our studio two years ago and showed us a ton of places and we chose a studio that was nice. Pavel was awesome to work with and down to earth. Unfortunately, we have to move from the studio (because we've outgrown it and the rent increases were getting out of hand with the management company) we contacted Benjamin Realty once again and dealt with Rose who is also amazing and great to work with. Very down to earth and understanding of our needs, Rose managed to find us a beautiful 1 bd a few blocks from our current location. She also showed us an amazing duplex 1bd too. Poor service, I can't say enough horrible things about this realty group. It all started when Me and my wife went to see an attractive 1 bedroom apartment just around the corner of their office. The woman assured us that we were the first couple to see the apartment, when we saw the apartment we were in love. We immediately went back to her office and filled out some application paperwork along with leaving a 300$ dollar deposit. She then told us that we would be receiving a phone call in two days of whether we were approved or not. She called us and said that another family were approved before us, we wondered why since she said we were the first couple to view the apartment and left a 300$ dollar deposit and she said that they made a more lucrative bid on the apartment and that it was done deal after that. Me and my wife were livid. We went back and talked to her supervisor and asked for our deposit back. I confronted the tall, big nose guy on the fast one they pulled on us and he said that their was another realty group that showed the apartment before us and they were approved on the spot. I mentioned that the woman that had shown us the apartment had told us that were the first couple to view the apartment and he told me that his employee didn't know anything. Being a service member on active duty, I couldn't be more displeased with this realty group. I definitely would not recommend this realty office to anyone looking for an apartment in forest hills. read more
