We found all three at Extra Space Storage. Misty, the Store Manager, happily showed us several different sized units so that we could get a better idea visually of what sized unit we might need. She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions with patience and a smile. The building itself is brand new, with bright, clean hallways, sturdy yet easily opened unit doors, climate control and secure access. Call around looking for units being very specific about needs - outside, drive up entrance directly to unit. Response - oh yes we have it!! Boss likes unit, signs contract. I go to put stuff into it today and pull into parking lot, insert code at double doors, go inside get flatbed cart, truck it to my car, load up, insert code AGAIN to open double doors, wander unmarked hallways rolling said flatbed cart till unit is found. Start unloading and look up, wow, someone could crawl in from the next unit and look at stuff, maybe even steal it. Walls do not go to ceiling, And then here's the kicker, if you have to go to the bathroom, get back in your car and go find one because there isn't one there to use after hours. I would never recommend this place and it's also overpriced for the space. read more

I was referred to Extra Space by a family member, and it turns out that several friends and other relatives all rent space here - and for good reason. The rental managers are genuinely kind, helpful and always available - such great customer service! There are people that help you because they have to - these folks help you because they WANT to - they are good (really good) at their jobs. The building is spotless, there are convenient flatbed dollies to use, and the office has a wide range of handy supplies for sale if needed. There is 24-hour video surveillance and secure access points at the doors and again at the elevators. The lights are motion-activated and the section I am in is climate-controlled. They have very competitive deals on their website. The whole experience has been stellar, and I would recommend Extra Space to anyone. read more

I had a completely positive here. I was moving from Los Angeles and needed somewhere to store everything from my house while I looked for housing in Seattle. Although I had little idea what size space I needed, what Vince recommended turned out to be exactly right. I didn't have to pay for space I didn't need, nor did I arrive with movers only to find out I needed another unit and none were available. On move-in and move-out days, they were helpful again. Thank you, Misty and Vince. Safety and cleanliness are important to me. This storage facility gets a 100% on both. The hallways were always spotless and polished, restrooms clean, and the use of security codes to enter the building and to use the elevator helped me feel safe. The building was well lit outside and in. Misty and Vince (the live-on-site managers) could not have been more helpful, friendly, cheerful, and professional. They even brought me a chair for me to sit on while I supervised my moving crew. Their prices seemed comparable to other facilities, especially when cleanliness, safety, and having an indoor unit out of the rain is added into the equation. I would use them again. read more

I am from a different state, but found a need to store items in San Jose. I found this Extra Space Storage location online using Bing. By signing up online, I got a great rate and first month free. Still, I wondered how the local office would handle the online rental. Answer: Perfectly! The site manager was helpful, efficient, informative. The location is vintage from the early days (70s?) of the storage boom, but clean, dry, safe and easy access. Happy customer! read more

The level of service and accommodation is very high, for this location. Love! However, the chain charges by the month, so, be forewarned even if you need it for a week or less, you will be paying rental and insurance for the whole month. In my case I got lucky and there was a first month 1/2 off special, but it was still more than I wanted to pay. Unit was indoors in climate controlled, brightly lit area, with great security, and very clean. They take multiple security measures. I would love it if the access was 24/7, or, at least after 10pm--that's not very late. Again, this might be a chain thing, not a local choice. Overall well located, clean, reasonable, secure, with great staff. read more

Even though there was a storage facility near me in West Seattle, I opted to return to Extra Space Storage in north Seattle--my third time in eight years. The facility is clean, well lit, and well monitored. There is plenty of parking and access is easy--access to both the outer doors and the units themselves. Vince and Misty are professional, helpful, responsive, and good natured. Their excellent management of the site is foundational to the storage experience. Storing with them was a great experience - especially during the stressful time of moving. We needed some extra space temporarily until our barn was ready to receive our last-minute items, and I was able to rent a 10x10 in a matter of minutes. The prices were fair and the people (the owners live on-site) were super helpful. My glass palette broke when I was moving it out and they helped me clean it up and put it in their dumpster. Homeless, Mentally and Physically Handicap person. Ive been trying to help him move his belongings into a cheaper place. On the 14th of the month I moved him out of extra space. The Women that works the desk could not return half his rent due to a policy. So after I emptied his storage unit I put a lock back on it. The women told me to remove the lock. I told her he is paid until the end of the month and if they wanted to refund his money I will remove the lock. If not I will be back on the 31st to remove the lock. They called the mentally handicap guy and (harassed him Again)told him all these new fees he's going to get and how he needs to sign a form to cut the lock. He called me upset and confused ( this is not the first time after talking with these women that he had called me) I explained the situation to him. He thanked me and said he will not give them permission. I went there on the 30th to remove the lock and they told me they got permission and cut the lock. When I asked to see something in writing they told me it is not my storage unit and I need to leave or they'll call the police. He did not give them permission. I talked to the district manager he told me the same thing it's not my storage unit and offered me a used lock. The women are very rude and hard to work with. I caught one of them in a lie and they both got made at me and tried to make me look bad. I still can't figure out why they think its ok to call and harass him. Any other person would not take that. I never write reviews, but what they did was legally and ethically wrong. I was told he could win in a civil suit, but I don't want him to go thru that. read more

Don't know about Lake City Prices as they are not upfront and posting them on the web. Extra Space puts all their prices on their web site and they are incredible to work with. Vince and Misty are very competent and helpful on-sight managers. This facility is clean, easily accessible and a delight to do business with. I checked out over a dozen places and it was Misty and her way of helping me to choose the unit and facilitate the paperwork and move in while I was still residing out of state. This facility is very nice, warm and secure. However, the cost to rent storage space is astronomical. The only way anyone could afford to pay $450 per month for a 10x20 unit to store their junk is if they were rich. Thats almost the cost of a studio apt in someones basement, and you can live in a basement. Lets try more decent rental rates folks, like $225 per month. Thats a more realistic rate to keep my crap there and never visit for months on end. read more
