RIGHT NOW I AM BEING HELD HOSTAGE. THEY LOCKED MY GATE CODE SO I CANT GO IN OR OUT WITHOUT THEM LETTING ME ANDDI SM SITTING AT THE GATE WAITING AND THEY CAN SEE ME ON CAMERA BUT THRY WONT LET ME OUT currently rent a 10x20 unit here and their customer service is non-existent. They really only want customers who are going to fill the unit, leave, pay the rent every month but never need access to the stuff they store. The other day I had to pull half of my things out in order to access the item I was looking for and it took a good couple of hours and one of the office dudes comes wheeling along in that goofy golf cart to scold me about having my stuff in the hallway. What am I supposed to do with it? My rent is paid and I'm there working away and I am hassled why? The top building is always dirty, the lowest building attached to the office smells like an ashtray, I am talking the whole building b/c the office dudes sit in the first drive up unit and smoke and it's pretty likely anyone storing anything in that building is going to discover the stuff they stored smells like they are smokers. The guy with a unit right across from mine told me (as he was moving out) he found a bunch of rodent droppings all over his stuff inside his unit. My advice is take your business somewhere else this place will make you feel like you matter very little and you can get treated like that anywhere. I'm moving out as soon as I find a new storage place. Here is an update: since posting my review here, Sherlock Storage sent me an eviction e-mail stating that I violated the lease agreement and they cancelled my gate access and I can only get into my unit escorted by someone from the office during their office hours. Took advantage of one of the special deals on a 10x10 unit as we needed a place to temporarily store some kitchen cabinets and wanted something climate controlled. They were very prompt in answering any of my emails (initial inquiry and subsequent questions). The facility is very well maintained and I loved that they offered free use of their good sized box truck for moving. I was pleasantly surprised at how little gas it used (eco version) which was nice since I had to fill it back up before I returned it. Although we weren't storing anything extremely valuable, it was comforting to know that the electronic gate is accessed only through individually assigned gate codes so it felt like a safe secure place to store our goods. Slight miscommunication about terminating our rental agreement part way through a month and how the pro-rated rates would be handled....FYI ultimately you pay for the full month & get reimbursed for unused portion of the month upon vacating the space. But that was a small hiccup in an otherwise wonderful experience. We would definitely rent from Sherlock again. read more

It was wonderful using Sherlock Self Storage for my storage needs. The guys working here were super helpful and nice. It was easy to access my belongings, easy to get my belongings in and out of my unit, and I felt confident that my stuff was safe. Additionally, they have a large box truck that they let you borrow. Cheaper than renting a U-Haul and a lot more easily accessible because it's right there at the location! read more

Just moved out of my 10x10 storage after a 2 month stay. The whole storage unit experience/cost couldn't have been better! Free truck on move-in, $1 for first month (even though i was only there 2 months!), $20 to use the truck again to move out. Overall the 2 months cost me less than $100 . The staff is friendly and very reasonable when it comes to working with you on your particular situation. They require a 30-day notice on move-out, but were flexible on this for me since i told them I'd likely only be staying 2 months in the beginning. Facility is super clean and secure. They have lots of useful carts you can use when moving your stuff in/out. A+++ read more

I have had my items stored at Sherlock Storage for the past 3 years. The facility is fastidiously maintained. Jim, Tim and the rest of the people on the team are extremely courteous and professional. I highly recommend Sherlock Storage!!! I read a couple of the negative reviews. There is NO WAY that any storage facility would EVER lock you out of and sell your items if you were 1 day (24 hrs) late with a payment. I would bet that they were consistently late and VERY late with the payment that created the loss of their items. If you are financially responsible this would never happen to you. read more

The front desk gentleman was so friendly and accommodating! Sometimes when you walk in an office and it's quiet and you're the only two in the building, it can be awkward. But he was very patient with me finding my Renters Insurance Policy on my email and asked about my day, talked about his work, their offers, and the truck to use for free up to 50 miles. That's crazy, I've never heard of a place offering a free truck if you simply give them a copy of your insurance. It wasn't awkward at all, he was knowledgeable about everything, he is excellent at his job, you can tell when someone hates their life and their job, and he really enjoys it and helping people. He offered to save me some money by offering the old keys that were turned in, and that by taking them I'm accepting the slight liability. I just appreciated he cared, and made sure to look at the unit with me and it was exactly what i wanted. Masks and all, there are few people out there who are still working and just happy to be there, and he' went above and beyond. Thank you, I really appreciate everything! read more

I lived in Kirkland and worked at the Univ. of Washington's Bothell campus, so I drove by this place daily before renting from. Had an excellent experience, better than I've had before using national chains before. The staff was courteous and professional. The facility is clean and well-kept. The move-in and move-out went smoothly. I used their truck, which is a benefit of leasing space from them. The elevator and available furniture dollies/hand-trucks were a huge help. When the debit card I had on file for payments expired they gave me multiple email and phone notices so that I could provide the new card info. (they didn't immediately charge a late fee or sell my stuff!). When I was on the other side of the country and needed them to let in a moving company rep to see my storage unit in order to give an estimate for moving costs, they were accommodating. Their prices for boxes are much less than those at the nearby Target. I enjoyed renting here, would do it again and highly recommend them with no reservation! read more

I currently have 3 units and have recommended them to countless friends, family and business associates. All those recommended have given me positive feedback and thanked me for the referral.
