Relocating from AZ, we had a UHaul trailer and the back of a Lexus filled. Stephen helped us with storage bags that would help protect our contents, and other suggestions. The unit was as expected - clean and ready for storing our items. The customer service was wonderful. I'd highly recommend using them for any storage needs. Went through the local storage units and found this one had an intro 3 month rate and thought that's exactly what I needed. After getting a storage unit I was confused at the initial cost and pro rate being much higher then the hook of a low intro rate. Then got a new higher and unfamiliar price for the first full months rent. I immediately removed my things and closed this down. I wouldn't recommend and won't return. read more

DONT USE THIS PLACE!!! We vacated our storage unit on the 8th of June and talked to the people before we did. We explained that the unit was already empty and we could leave the lock on it for 10 days but were told that we could go ahead and take the lock off and stop by the office on our way out. The man in the office said that we would be receiving a refund for the prorated amount left in the month. That would have been about $80. Two weeks late, no refund yet. So we called the office and to no surprise, got a repeating recording while sitting on hold. My wife called another number and got what was obviously a central support person. That person called the office in Monroe and got told that since we did not give the ten days notice, we were not entitled to the refund. Either someone in that office is a liar or someone just needs more training. Enjoy the 80 bucks. Hey there you go, maybe use it to enroll in some customer service training. read more

I am updating my review because like the other peoples reviews for this place since the change to West Coast Storage we have been hit by a huge rent increase. The late fee policy is ridiculous! Its the most aggressive policy I have seen for a storage facility. Our payment due date was also changed on us which isn't ideal. I haven't really had any bad experiences with the staff. Its just bottom line to much money now. And its just too bad there aren't any other options available in the area for storage. (I researched other storage places and no one has any units available to rent. They are all full.) read more

We have rented here since August 2016 and have had a good experience until now. West Coast Self-Storage purchased Evergreen Mini-Storage this year.....apparently. We didn't receive any notice of this, but the name on the bill changed. No big deal, we have a rental agreement in place. Right? Well, our rent was increased by $55 per month without notice as I found out today. We're being hit with a ton of fees that aren't in our agreement either. The manager claims we were sent notice, but none was received. Funny, we got everything else they sent us. At least we did when it was owned by Evergreen. Now our possessions (of significant value) are being held hostage unless we pay under these new terms that we never agreed to. Our agreement even states that the agreement cannot be changed except by written agreement. Not notice, but agreement. That makes the notice issue a moot point, but we would have found somewhere else rather than fighting them. This could be a mistake and a particularly stubborn manager, but this seems intentional to me. Please note that the employees of Evergreen Mini-Storage (before the change in ownership) were excellent and this review is meant in no way to reflect on their friendly and professional service. Tyler, on the new management team, also seems friendly and reasonable but unfortunately the manager has been defensive, dismissive, and unwilling address us as human beings. read more

I'll start of by saying I've been renting here for a couple years now, there have been many annoyances and inconveniences that are not noteworthy, and a few major issues that I'll bring up later on in this review. Even with what had happened, I never felt inclined to write a review about my experiences until now. I'll start of with my issues with the company itself. #1 biggest complaint is that they will lie to you, no matter what, you will be lied to. Right from the beginning they lie to you about the unit sizes. Go in there with a tape measure, you'll find the unit is anywhere from 6" to 12" shorter on each side than what they advertise. Just rented a 5x5? Surprise! You actually just rented a 4x4, 20% reduction in unit size with zero reduction in price. Second complaint with this company is the rent increases, and what they say to justify it. I understand storage facilities need rent increases to survive, but these guys will always give you the same line of "it goes right back into the property". What have they done to this property since taking over? A new coat of paint, literally. Painted all the units blue, modernized the office, added some cameras that (from my personal experience) can't even pick up a license plate or facial details in the recording, replaced the gates. And the new gates are not secured properly, just figured I'd mention that too, i'd say how but i'd rather not have the undesirable people know any of the three ways (that I found) to bypass the gate. On the note of paint, when I first started renting here a young couple was about to have a child, and they were storing all of the baby supplies in their unit. When Glacier west here (then West Coast self storage, same owner just different name) painted over their door without taping it off, and contaminated all of the baby supplies with paint, from the wooden crib to the stuffed animals. The owners denied any responsibility, saying they couldn't see how the paint could have "damaged" any of the baby supplies and just blamed it on the individuals who did the painting. This facility also has a problem with spiders, and occasionally has a problem with rats. I've seen some units with droppings in piles in the corners, and I found droppings in the engine bay the of the car that I store here. You're essentially storing your items outside when renting here. I've dealt with my fair share of unpleasant experiences as well, most importantly was a roof leak that took AN ENTIRE YEAR TO FIX. Yes, 12 months of waiting around and complaining every time it rained, and we are in Washington. Part of the lease they make you sign relieves them of any responsibility for damage from their faulty equipment or their faulty property. Really convenient for them, you better hope your insurance covers rain/water damage or you're out of luck. Other than that, my rent went up by $100 per month with nothing to show for it. The thing that pushed me to the point of writing this review however, was that I am currently facing financial troubles but should be back on my feet next month, and made a deal with the manager to pay my rent in halves, half on time and half late. This was agreed upon, she said it was fine. Last month I paid like that and no issues. I asked if I could do it again this month and was told it would be fine. A couple days after I make my initial payment, I see a notice taped on the door saying I had 3 days to pay the remaining balance, or lose everything I own in there. That's it, 3 days, and only 14 days past due (though half paid for) at time of the notice being posted. I'm lucky I saw it the day they posted it. But that's all that was done to notify me, no emails or phone calls or even a text message of the changes. I've been renting here for years without missing a single payment, and they immediately start threatening to take what I own. I held off on writing a review because I was honestly afraid they would retaliate by raising my rent again, but I've decided it's in the best interest of the public that I do. I will update this review if they do retaliate. This facility was a dump back when it was Evergreen Mini Storage, but at least the owner understood that her customers were human beings as well and not just numbers to pad her wallet. read more

Most of the positive reviews relate to when this place was Evergreen Mini Storage. Those folks were great. Never had a problem until they sold to West Coast Self Storage. It's been a nightmare ever since. There was a huge increase in rates, the staff are terrible and the place has really gotten dirty. I think that the recent positive reviews must be from employees. read more

They make storage easy for us. Everything works, the place is well maintained and clean. The rates are great. And they have heated floor units too. The only thing missing is a bathroom - even a Sani-can would be nice. read more

Have stored here for about 10 months now. The storage seems to be fine - we have a 10x15 unit with mainly big stuff in there - including furniture, tools and sporting goods equipment. Cost is about $85 a month so it works well for us. read more

I've had a storage unit here since last Fall, a 10x15 I think. I visit the unit about once or twice a month. I've had no issues with my unit or my stuff. The office staff is pretty helpful, and I can call in to pay my monthly bill (with a cc on file) if I want to. I like that's it's a local business and has two families on site. Prices are very competitive with other storage places in town. read more

STEER CLEAR! When Carla Holzerland ran it, things were pretty smooth. Now, new owners have taken over. They called me to tell me I was late on my payment. I checked, I was on time. They advised, I should have known that they couldn't cash my check at the bank, because it was written out to Evergreen Mini Storage, instead of the new name....which, by the way, I still don't know! So, now I am late because of their mistake? Huh? Learn to use the phone, or send me an email folks. I arrived today to find my entry code had been revoked and a lock put on my unit. The female in charge.....I can't tell you how rude she was. When I asked her about the lock on my unit, the late charge, and the lack of notice about new ownership, she advised "not our responsibility!" really? They advised they were going to call the police! These folks are a hot mess! Shame on you if you rent here! I was a resident of Monroe for 24 years, and I have never been treated like this at any business there... read more
