Terry helped me out in deciding which unit was best fit for our needs. She not only made the process easy, but you can see how much care she puts into running the facility. The place is spotlessly clean and tidy, she's friendly and kind to everyone, and we feel very secure with the setup. I don't think there are any storage places that aren't at least 20% Scam. This place is only about a 19% scam, but my stuff was secure and it was helpful to have it there because they run a tight ship, and don't let the local riffraff in. Even though I had a lock from another extra space they made me buy a new lock. So whatever the price they quote you - you have to add on a bunch of other things so unlike the airlines and hotels they don't have any rules in this industry of Self Storage. The price you start with will not be the price you finish with and it was quite an extreme jump and I think they get you because that first month everyone thinks you're getting their stuff out and no one does. So to pay 300 bucks for a small closet was ridiculous because I am prettier I could have gotten an entire bedroom in LA for $600 complete with kitchen and bathroom privileges. read more

December 30, 2024 | received this injury due to this protruding foot-long piece of metal Sticking from the wall around a blind corner. I asked for a Band-Aid in the front office, and was scoffed at. "We don't give customers bandaids. Do you think we're a Pharmacy?" I had to go to the emergency room, Had to get a tetanus shot, Had to go on antibiotics, missed two weeks of work, and now six weeks later have a lifelong scar. Extra Space storage? Their response has been "Lady go f$&k off." Even their employees (Look online) Say the worst part about their job is how aggressive they are towards customers. And there's a class Action suit against them for their unethical bait and switch tactics. Not "good" Mormons who run this Utah corp! The front office will deliberately contradict your 20 page contract and you will pay $$$. I need a good personal injury / property negligence lawyer. Google " Extra Space storage class action lawsuits." There are many. They are Corporate abusers of consumers. These assholes don't deserve your business; you will regret storing here. Extra space storage gets two stars due to the on-site management team of David and Terry who try to help you. I took off three stars because they do not honor their confirmed reservations. I was given a rental space reservation twice by Extra Space and provided my drivers license to hold the space. I received email confirmations and was also told my reservation would be held for five days. I went to see the space to make sure it was the right size (before paying but within the five days) and I was told by Terri that my space had been rented and no others were available! Terri explained that they do NOT honor their reservations. The reservation honors the price they quote you but does not hold the unit for you. Their reservation policy is useless and I would recommend going to another storage company that honors their reservations like Trunk Storage. read more

PRICE-GOUGING and RIDICULOUS hours. THREE rate increases in 2 years (NOT including the teaser rate going up). My family has multiple ExtraSpace units in different states. ExtraSpace in Texas and Virginia are open 16 hours a day. Even branches in IOWA have better hours than this one. Make sure you're done by 4:00 on weekends -- they LOCK THE GATE after that and you won't be able to get in. And the price increases -- don't worry, you'll be paying DOUBLE your initial rate in a short time. Again, only THIS BRANCH price gouges like this. Only rent here if you really, REALLY enjoy being ripped off. There are lots and lots of storage facilities. Choose one of them and RUN from this one. read more

The property is ultra clean with loads of open space. The person that checked us in was Terri - she's so professional, friendly and knowledgeable too! She got everything done speedy fast! LARGE UNANNOUNCED RENT INCREASES IS A COMPANYWIDE POLICY AND TACTIC SO IT AFFECTS ALL LOCATIONS, NOT JUST THE ONE I RENTED FROM. Do not rent from Extra Space Storage. 1. Hidden in their agreement is that they can (and do) raise your rent at any time. 2. After ONE MONTH at the advertised rate that I signed up for ($167/mo) they raised it by 50%!!! 3. Without notice!!! 4. Only when I called them on this did they agree to a PARTIAL refund, and would not guarantee future increases would not happen. They will always use the same language: "From time to time customers may be subject to a rent increase due to the competitive blah blah blah." There's no "time to time" about it. They will IMMEDIATELY AND SUBSTANTIALLY GOUGE YOU after you sign up. This *IS* their business model. read more

I've had many storage units in the past. This location is by far the cleanest and best customer service I have ever experienced. Terri the store manager is really friendly and helpful. Most storage facilities I have used are cramped, run down, dirty and depressing. This location is the polar opposite. Clean, open and well maintained. Lots of parking and flat load in door area. So no ramps just to get into the building. I can not recommend them enough. read more

Terrible place. Victoria or Terri (Whatever the managers name is) somehow got her hands on my lock combination and she goes into my unit when I'm not there. When I came back the next day the lock was unlatched when I distinctly remember doubling checking the loft before I left the day before. When i confronted her about it she got mad and yelled "PROVE IT". She has showed me pictures on my phone where she had taken pictures of my lock combination one previous time when I did accidentally leave it unlocked. Don't give these people your money. read more

I rented a small storage space over 2 years ago at this Extra Space location. I still remember the first time I met the storage manger. She was very worm and welcoming. She made me feel that this is the right place for my belongings. The location is very conveniently accessible and clean. The service is great. Any of my requests were taken care of right away. I saw someone mention about the price. But I thought it was very fair and competitive. There was hardly any fee adjustments during my 2 years here. We were storing some bulky items in a nearby garage until it was broken into and a lot of our stuff was trashed or tossed around. We were going to buy a new padlock for the garage( this would be our third, but we decided to check out extra space storage. Terri was the manager on duty, she was very helpful and friendly. Terri showed us a few options and we found one that was perfect. Move in was a breeze with dollies and a freight elevator. The place is clean, well lit, and secure. It's kind of weird how excited I was to get my own storage space. I've had roommates for years now, and as an only child I loved the idea of having my own little space, no matter how small, to organize as I please. I was so happy to see that Extra Space Storage opened its doors just blocks from my apartment. When I went to tour the spaces I was hosted by the manager, Ricky, who is great, really friendly and very knowledgeable. Storage isn't really something that people are experts on usually, so I liked that he started off by asking in plain terms what I needed my space for so he could work around me. The space itself is super clean, new and modern. They have cool garage door thingies so you can load in your stuff easily, and plenty of carts available to lug your stuff to your space. I like that it's well-lit with pleasant music playing...other spaces I've been to are kind of creepy and I feel like unsavory things are happening in them. The downside to this is that the prices are significantly higher. I know for a fact that I pay more than someone who has a space in mid-city that's at least three times bigger. But for me, the cleanliness and safety and neighborhood make it worthwhile. read more

Alas, I hate to have to write a bad review of this facility but I must since they basically are stealing my money and have pretty shitty customer service once you're out of the sales process. First off, I must say that Tyrone (the manager) is a nice guy. Secondly, the facility is very clean and well-kept. Thirdly, there are plenty of free-to-use carts that make moving things in and out of units much easier. Lastly, the facility is climate controlled which is nice. (But you are paying a fairly steep difference in price.) Now onto the not so good . . First, the entire west corridor of the building with windows gets very warm on sunny days. And then if it's one of those somewhat rare genuinely hot days (80+ degrees), then it's kind of like a sauna. Moving stuff in and out on those days is pretty tough because there's very little ventilation in those corridors. Second, and this is the big one, Extra Space has terrible customer service. I was moving out of town and needed to downgrade my storage unit. They didn't have any at this facility so I looked around for other places naturally. I recall there being something in the contract that stipulated that they required thirty day notice. So just to be sure, I called to ask how to handle vacating my unit at which point I was told that they just need verbal 48 hour notice. I also asked whether or not I'd be charged for the remainder of the month or whether it'd be prorated and was told that it would be prorated after I moved out. I thought "Great, I'll cancel my unit, move my stuff, and not have to pay the remaining time." And then I did so thinking all was working out well. Unfortunately, things were not destined to work out that well. Since I was on auto-pay, they charged me the full amount the day before I called and then proceeded to not tell me that I had already been charged for the month and that they would just keep the money the day I called. Ok, at this point, that's still not the worst thing a company can do. Sure, I can see how the employee misspoke or maybe didn't see that I had already been charged already for the month. These are understandable mistakes. The real grievance is what happened when I tried to get this mix-up fixed. I call this facility after I settle into my new city, get my credit card bill and realize they charged me but never gave me a credit back. I explain the situation and Amaya, the assistant manager, takes my call and says he'll look into it, follow up and call me back within the hour. He doesn't. I call again an hour later and he says that he's going to look into it but got "busy" and will definitely call me back within a day. He doesn't. I call back the next day and speak with Tyrone and let me know the issue and that I would like my refund, please. He tells me that he needs to investigate but will call me back by the following Tuesday, which is two business days. He doesn't. I finally call again today, being Wednesday, and he's like "It's on my list of things to do. I was going to call you." I sense he was just hoping I'd forget. So after he "investigates", we chat and I basically let him know that his employee told me something different from the contract that lead me to vacating my unit with a full 29 days left. He has to go off and call his "regional manager" or something straight out of The Office. He calls me back and then says "manager says no". I call his manager and explain the situation expecting "hey, good customer service. Your guys made a mistake. Just refund me the pro-rated amount and we're all good. I understand corporate policy but your guys made a mistake." At this point, the manager is being stubborn and refuses to do anything for me besides a guaranteed first month free if I come back WHICH IS THE OFFER THEY HAVE ALL THE TIME. In summary, they have a nice facility, a little better than ones in West LA or farther south in Venice, but at the end of the day, they're greedy and have awful customer service. read more

Nice space... Horrible customer service! The short hair girl who walks around like she's a prison guard. Patrolling the units if you in it, 5 minutes to long, acting as if, she own or has stock in this place need to calm her ass down! It's STORAGE SPACE not lock up... You don't get paid enough to be worried about nothing. She locks the bathroom when the office hours close, yet, the gate is open from 6am-10pm for customers to come in and out of there paid for, storage spaces. Come on, what kind of business is that! Customer do have to use the bathroom. I was there, sitting in my unit on the floor going through boxes gathering tax documents and it was cool inside and so, I covered up with a blanket as I was separating documents and because I was in the storage for more than a few minutes, she comes in unit and said, I can't sit in the storage unit and do that. It's against company policy, when there was someone running a book store out of the space, who sat there much longer than, I was there. I have been a customer at other extra space storage locations and the bathroom doors stayed unlocked, you could have access without being treated like and you in jail or some crap. Don't be afraid to rent space here! The facility is spotlessly clean, feels absolutely secure, and is staffed by helpful, friendly, knowledgable people. Example: I got there early this morning and discovered I had left the keys to my locks (I have two spaces) in a city 400 miles away. Tyrone arrived at work 45 minutes early and was wonderful enough to cut the locks off so my movers wouldn't be stuck in the parking lot with nothing to do. He was super-patient and didn't make me feel like an idiot. My experience with this storage company has been fantastic, seriously. I would recommend them 100%. read more
