I walked into Box City planning to buy about 10 boxes so I could ship some products out of state. I asked one of the staff members where I could find a specific box size, and he immediately asked if I needed help with packing. I had no idea they even offered packing services. I told him I had a bunch of items already boxed up in my car that needed to be repacked properly for shipping. Without hesitation, he offered to help bring everything inside and asked if it would be okay for them to repack everything to make sure it was secure and shipping-ready. Since it would have been a lot of work for me to do myself, I gladly accepted. I asked the front desk for his name -- Suhan. Soon after, another team member came out, helped bring all my boxes in, consolidated some of them into larger boxes, packed everything professionally, and got them ready to ship. Since I had arrived close to the end-of-day shipping cutoff, Suhan even told me he could personally drive my packages to the UPS center to make sure they went out that same day. That level of service is rare. As a business owner myself, I pay close attention to customer service, and the service I received here was truly exceptional. These guys are professionals and clearly care about their customers. From now on, anytime I need to ship something, Box City will be my go-to place. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and outstanding service. read more

My bff was overwhelmed getting ready for a home renovation/painting project...she was frustrated and stressed out about putting everything in boxes so the contractor's people could be able to start. So, I used the " google" and found a neighborhood business on Westwood blvd only 10 minutes away from my home. Well, I walked in here and was immediately helped by EDDIE. I must've looked like I needed it :))). Within minutes, he took me over to just what I needed ... boxes that don't need tape and easily can be assembled. He showed me exactly what to do and it put a big smile on my face. I call that excellent customer service... So, if anybody you know who might need anything pertaining to shipping, packing and supplies, head on down here. Plenty of parking in the back and you will thank me for making your life a lot easier. These guys are great. Very nice staff, a new rewards point system, helpful with regard to choosing what you need, and a very good return policy for unused boxes. These are my go to guys. Selection is amazing (there are boxes for things there that I never knew you needed boxes for) in the value is fair pricing. Not just for when you're moving, I also have gift boxes... I have been buying boxes from this location for at least 15+ years and I believe the store has gone through at least 3 different management or ownership changes since than. I have never had any problems and have always come out of the store happier than when I arrived because of the great staff. Came here on a Saturday, however google maps said they open at 10am, but Box City is open at 9am Saturdays (westwood). I need to get a small box to ship out a return, the staff helped me to find the correct size. FYI, there is a $5 credit card limit for purchases here. What a great place!! I came in looking for a box to ship an item I sold on eBay. An employee told me they did packaging and shipping internationally, So I got a quote. I ended up shipping my items with box city via DHL to England. 3 day arrival time! eBay's shipping said it would take 2 weeks with the post office and it was about the same price for the shipping alone. They lock the doors before they are actually closed. Annoyed of course after rushing here. Please honor your posted hours or just close earlier. Prices keep going up as well. I've been to this location few times, always to pickup packages. Each time they've been quick, helpful, and courteous. Today I went in to buy a couple of boxes for some oddly-shaped Christmas presents; the store was fully-stocked, the labels were easy to read so I could match my measurements to what they had, and the prices were reasonable. When I was ready to go, I went over and stood behind the customer who was already being helped at the counter, and immediately another employee waved me over to the next register. They asked if I found everything alright and they were very pleasant. I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes, and most of that time was me deciding what to get. They have a wide selection of box sizes, but, the prices are up like 100% from just a few years ago----well beyond inflation. I wanted a 20" by 20" by 4" box and it was over $7 for this little box....plus tax of course.........this used to be like $3 area. I heard somewhere that the business changed hands, has a new owner, who is really pushing the accelerator on prices. Not a good trend. read more

Box and packing materials are well stocked but you may find slightly cheaper at moving and storage company offices. I'm rating this place so low because pet of their service is as a drop off location for fedex..... but they refuse to give you a receipt when they accept your parcel. I asked and they refused. Told me to go elsewhere. If I had know then I would have just gone to a more professional drop off location. So if you're shipping something of worth then go to another fedex partner or drop off location. This place doesn't protect chain of possession for your shipments. If you drop it off and it goes missing you have no proof you tried to send packages. read more

This location of Box City is very tidy and organized. Nothing blocking the aisles and the shelves are organized. The staff are knowledgeable and helped me find the right box for my item. Every time I have been into this Box City location, the employees are incredibly nasty and it's like they're competing with each other to see who can be the least helpful to the customers. I wonder if the owner has any idea how bad things are. They made this store a UPS "access point" -- which means that if I'm not home, then UPS automatically drops off my package off at Box City. I wrote an email to the CEO of UPS today, letting him know what a bad decision it was to rely on this store and its incompetent staff. Every time I try to pick up a package, they tell me it's not there, or that they can't find it, or that I'm at the wrong store, or whatever other piece of nonsense drifts into the empty space between their ears. And every single time, after I implore them to check again, they find the package on the shelf, sitting there like I told them it would be. It happens this exact way so many times that you could set your clock to it. If I have my way, UPS will find a better "access point" because the team at Box City is just not cutting it. (Also the place is dirty, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.) read more

I was informed by the Box City employee my two packages would go out on Friday, July 22, 2022, for delivery on Tuesday/Wednesday this week. I checked the tracking labels today noticing one of the two boxes weren't listed within FedEx. This caused me to go back to Box City Westwood today & speak with the employees. I was informed by the employee that my package hadn't been shipped. The explanation provided to me by the employee was the shipping label created by the Box City employee was not readable causing FedEx to return my package to Box City. The employee stated my package would go out today because they placed the necessary tracking information for FedEx. I then spoke with the manager who was less than professional & had zero interest is making this unfortunate experience better. Lesson learned: NEVER use Box City shipping services! read more

This has the best selection of boxes at the best prices.The owner is great but her team does let her down as they often act like you are an unearned intruder. She needs to get them on board with the idea that without the customers it's going to be another retail shop that goes out of business. So I have to say the other reviews are accurate. I have never understood the negative comments I have seen about this Los toon. Everyone in this location has always been very helpful to me - and I have lived in this neighborhood for over 25 years. They have every type of moving and packing supply you would ever need, there is plenty of parking behind the store, and their packing and shipping service is second to none - especially with delicate electronic items. Nothing like fresh clean boxes, no grocery store produce infused ones for my books, linens and kitchenware, thank you very much! A confirmed control freak, yes I could let the movers pack my stuff, but I'd rather not as there's precise editing AND two-sided labeling (one on box top, one on box side) to be done on my part. Once done, let the hunky strong ones lug, tote and deliver to the proper spot in my new home (due to my two-sided labeling, just sayin')! No complaints regarding service here cuz I knew what I needed, bought it and high tailed it back to the homestead to pack it up to move it out. read more
