Do NOT take your international notary documents here. I had been waiting for weeks to receive a contract from Canada that needed to be notarized rather urgently. When I asked the Notary to review everything, he was distracted by another customer who came in after me, and casually played along with my transaction like everything was fine. The Witness and I signed the docs in accordance with the Canadian government requisites. When I asked the Notary to sign and put his seal on the contract, he refused and insisted on including an "Acknowledgment" addendum instead, noting to "see attachment" where the Notary Public was supposed to have signed. He would not add his signature or name to the contract in a conciliatory effort to connect the two documents and assist the transaction. For some reason, he couldn't see the disconnect, and how his unwillingness to comply would ultimately nullify the contract. When I asked him to read the short paragraph regarding the specifics of a Notary Public seal for the Canadian government, he refused. I then spoke with my attorney over the phone on speaker in his presence, who stated that the solution here was easy; sign the Acknowledgment in accordance to the State of California, and add the seal to the contract. The salesperson was not interested in hearing it. He waved me off and said "No, I don't want to. I don't want to help you." I said "Please do your job." He then refused to provide services. I pleaded with him to do it his way and he still refused. Because the Witness and I had already signed the documents without a seal, the contract will have to be destroyed and resent from Alberta. He knew this inconvenience and blew me off anyway. I've been loyal to this store for a decade. I will not spend another cent there. I feel like I have better things to do than write this review, but if I save just one person from enduring this BS, it's been worth it. read more

I was the only customer there and I suppose he's the owner but he's on the phone. The phone call seems to be going on for some time he's pulling out paperwork going on the computer and so he is kind of walking back-and-forth and he sees me standing there. I'm standing there for nearly 10 minutes. He never acknowledges me and so at one point I felt he should had acknowledged my presence or at least give me an idea if he's going to actually help me. So I asked him "will you be able to help me to get my fingerprints?" and "he says yes, you see I'm on the phone I'll get back to you," I say "yes but you did not even acknowledge me" then he says "well you should find another place." read more

I have been a customer of this business for many years but am now at the end of my rope. They totally ignore you when you enter the business. With prior owner the business went smoothly and I felt comfortable leaving packages there that needed to be returned to companies. I had a problem a few months ago when I left merchandize to be returned to the company with prepaid shipping via USPS. I was never reimbursed. It seemed only fair to give them another chance, but noticed today that they are absolving themselves of all responsibility of packages sent with prepaid shipping through USPS, with notices posted about this. Apparently it never occurred to them that they may have a dishonest employee. I left this package today, but if I am not credited I shall take my business elsewhere. The previous management hired honest people who would either give you a copy of the paperwork or email you the information. This is no longer the case, and as the employees don't seem to care enough to greet customers, nor provide verification of prepaid postage for merchandize to be returned, I don't trust or feel comfortable to do business here anymore if not credited promptly. I don't believe this is a USPS problem, and management appears to be blind to the problem. If I am credited for this return I shall edit this review, but I am skeptical. read more

Forget about other places, this one is always THE BEST, #1 and always has been for years. I actually look forward to going because they are ridiculously helpful and ALWAYS friendly. I usually support small businesses but STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I don't understand the one star reviews. I have been a customer at this location for over 7 years. The new owners have organized the store and tried their best to deal with a high volume of tasks and customers at one time. They do not nickel and dime you like the more corporate UPS stores and their staff is polite, attentive and helpful. If someone was waiting in line, it was because the clerk was focused on the customer in front of her, who probably appreciated it. I do all my shipping and receiving as well as rent a mailbox here and have never had issues. Much better than getting your mail stolen at home. And also, the store opens at 9:30, not 9 AM. If you rent a mailbox, you have access to your mailbox 24 hours a day. Highly recommned. read more

I had a very good experience today with the ladies working there . Bianca and Barisa who helped me with my live scan for my nursing license . I didn't have the form I needed printed so they googled if and printed it so I couldn't have to go home ! They also squeezed me in early for my appointment when it was extremely busy . I plan to go back next time I need my license renewed as well as for my international shipping needs ! I made a stop here since the post office nearby was not very helpful when I couldn't find any packaging that would fit the item I was trying to send. I had to wait for a little bit here since there was only one employee helping patrons, but she was very efficient and friendly and assured me that she would be right with me. She assisted with packaging my item and provided quotes for different couriers. I was very happy with her service after feeling like I was out of options at the post office. This will be where I go in future if I need something notarized. There was another notary closer to home, but I got much a more professional response from National Livescan when I phoned than the other one who seemed uninterested. So I chose Livescan. Luis at National Livescan was friendly when he did the job, did it professionally. Livescan were a lower price than the other one. Parking can be gnarly around lunchtime or end of day in the little strip mall for Livescan, but if you street park on Sepulveda southbound, just north of National, it usually has some free spaces. read more

I am a regular customer at Boxes Plus for one month now. It has been a very bad experience!The ONLY thing they do accurately is charge the customer! I'm in the middle of refinancing my home and many documents were faxed back and forth as the lender requested. Sir, the gentleman that works there could care less about his job. In a two month span he showed up to work late leaving the customers waiting until he arrived. I personally(as did others) left and returned after waiting 25 minutes. The neighbors next door said this happens often.When I returned,I asked What had happened and asked for a discount for my unconvinced. I was told that he lives in North Hollywood and there is traffic and no discount! I did my faxes only to find out the next day some were cut off and some were not done front and back as I requested. The next day back I went an Sie REFUSED to credit me for the faxes(there were quite a few!).I resent them and paid AGAIN.Then I got notification the C DL he sent were not legible! I had to come back yet again with all three and resend those and you guessed it no credit! He charged me for those again!I called the owner and he came and gave him some pointers on how to do things but he REFUSED to do anything for me! Today I went in there again at 9:44 am and the store was locked up ! The store hours are 9:30-6:00 M-F. I left and returned. When I came back I asked Sie why he was late again he said traffic again and that I could have gone to staples right down the street!He REFUSED to give me a discount again. At which point I told him I was going to put him on yelp. He didn't care. He proceeded to charge me as usual. I have spent almost $100.00 on faxes in a month due to his incompetence and the owner didn't care. Perhaps Fed Ex and UPS need to be notified of how their clients are being treated!
