The employees at The Culver Mail Box are always very friendly and professional. Recently, I sent an important package out of state. I realized a short time later that I had left out the letter in the apartment address. I called The Culver Mail Box in a slight panic because I thought this package will be lost for sure. The employee said that UPS had already picked up the package but that she would try to track down the driver to retrieve it. Fortunately, she was able to do so. She made the correction to the address and sent it back out the same day. This is going above and beyond in customer service in my opinion. I hated shipping stuff. The process of finding the right box, bubble wrap, styrofoam, taping, measuring, weighing, then calculating and making all the choices was frustrating and it was always twice as much as I expected. And then I discovered Gina. I will NEVER again go to a UPS store or a FedEx location and have them handle packing and shipping for me. Gina and her team take all of my frustrations away. She is about the nicest person on earth. She loves what she does, and she's been doing it for 20+ years. She knows how to safely package heavy and fragile electronics. She knows how to get lower rates. Gina knows. She just knows. EDIT: I just shipped a 30+ pound, expensive, fragile amplifier PLUS a super fragile tube pre-amplifier via Gina. I literally dropped the gear off, she measured it, weighed it, gave me an exact price (very reasonable price!), and I left. If 0 stars was an option that is what I would do. This place scammed me and stole the package I dropped off to be picked up by UPS. I dropped the package off on October 3rd. Two weeks later I go back to this location because the tracking still shows it there. The employees were rude and not helpful. They actually lied to me multiple times changing their story saying the package got picked up by a ups truck that same day and showed me the same tracking info that I see on my app. Well UPS showed me on their system the exact location of the scan and when I showed them they still denied it was there. When I asker nicely if she could look for said package she straight up said no. That itself raised another red flag for me ontop of the lies. I noticed there are a couple similar reviews like this and I hope this helps prevent others from going through the same thing as me. In my picture, notice how the drop off location is the Culver mail box. They scanned it at 1346hrs and thats the last known scan. There is no scan proof of it in UPS hands unless they just happened to scan it within the same minute as the Culver Mailbox. Also note that my package was not small and easy to lose. It weighed about 25lbs and was 2.5ft tall. read more

The service here is TERRIBLE and I will be doing everything in my power to avoid this location. I stood there while one girl slowly helped a customer for 20 minutes and the other girl just stood there glued to her phone, not looking up and couldn't be bothered. Just had a fairly unpleasant interaction with this service. Ill admit i was distracted when the abrupt woman said "have you been helped?" I tried to make jokes and keep the mood light, but she was having none of it. Not a friendly, not an easy transaction.... just a bad taste in my mouth as she said to me after i paid "i didnt charge you for the box" (Id paid $$$$$ for the convenience of fed ex overnight). I dont know if the cost of shipping a 2 lb box overnight box has become astronomical or if i was ripped off, but its more about the way i was treated that made me take the time to write the review. read more

Finally caved and got a mailbox. Being that we are all working from home I imagine others will follow suit if they haven't already. I just don't feel comfortable giving my home address out for work reasons. Got a great deal for a mailbox 15 months for $300. It would've been less but they were out of the smallest size mailbox. Had a very safe, social distanced experience here. The manager allowed me to do the entire sign up process from my car which was so sweet and convenient too! They are maintaining distance by making mailbox owners wait outside to allow proper spacing. I love that they also have parking spots behind the building. Will update if anything changes but so far I'm very happy! read more

We went in to get a document notarized and the there was an older women and 2 girls who looked like they just finished high-school . Very incompetent looked confused and puzzled I wonder how much money they lose for the business , turning people away . Beware. This place is not to be trusted. I brought a box in to be shipped FedEx. They lost the box. FedEx says they never gave it to them. They claimed they did give it to FedEx and they had video footage to prove it. I asked them to show me the video footage and they backtracked and said they don't know how to look at the footage and it only stores seven days. Then they told me that FedEx always scans every box before it leaves their facility. I pointed out that there is no proof of scan with FedEx. Then I asked if they ever made a mistake and gave a FedEx box to ups or Dhl. They got very defensive and said whenever that happens, the service returns the box to them. I asked them to contact the FedEx driver that they insisted picked up the package. They refused to contact the driver. I then asked them to contact DHL and UPS to see if there was a mistake and perhaps they have the package. They refused to contact DHL or UPS. When I asked them for the contacts so I could call myself, they refused to give me the contacts and told me to call customer service. At all turns the staff was argumentative and contradictory. One girl was laughing while we were discussing the problem with the owner. This place is careless and dismissive. Be warned. They have lied to me continually. They claimed they opened up an investigation, but told me there was no investigation number, then when I contacted FedEx and got the owner on the line with them he completely lied and tried to say I was the one who opened up the investigation.They are taking absolutely no responsibility. They lost a very important package with irreplaceable contents and they are still refusing to follow through with helping to track it down. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and taking them to court. read more

I have been a customer here for 15 years and today I was treated so rudely, I will never be back. I ordered something from Nike which gave me the option to have it delivered to Culver Mailbox. It was a birthday present so I didn't want it delivered to my home where my husband would see it. I had had many packages delivered there before with no issue. I received notice from Fed Ex that it had been delivered so I went to pick it up. When I arrived the two women behind the counter said they don't accept packages from Fed Ex, so they refused delivery. No one called me, from Culver Mailbox or Nike to say this had occurred? I asked. Where is it now? I asked. They said nothing. Then one of the women called the manager, who then came out and retrieved the package from one of the women who had told me it had been refused. I was shocked of course that it was, in fact, there, and asked why these women said it wasn't? Then they straight lied and said they didn't say that, and the manager said she believed them, and I was, in turn, not telling the truth. The manager then lectured me about how I shouldn't have had it delivered to them from Fed Ex. It was an option on the Nike site, I told her, maybe she should contact Nike so another customer doesn't have to go through this. She said no. She continued to lecture, and the two women refused to make eye contact with me, because they know they lied to the manager about what actually transpired. I had a witness with me who heard the whole thing, there was no misunderstanding. So I said I had been a customer for over a decade and didn't appreciate this treatment, which only upped the manager's gaslighting. She never once apologized for the terrible service, and ended the exchange shouting "Have a great day!!!" as I walked out the door. For the last time, never ever going back here. ---- Yeah Perry, this is not how the situation went down at all, and the women behind the counter know that. But ok, I don't care enough to continue the conversation, too busy looking for another mail service. read more

I'm not sure how to feel about this place. I was excited that they offer UPS, FedEx, and USPS all in one place. I thought this would make my shipping process easier, as I could select from all of those carriers. But the quotes I received ended up being more than I had anticipated. So I went home and adjusted my packaging, and then went online to the UPS, FedEx, and USPS websites to get quotes and was satisfied. So I went back to this location with my new packaging, expecting to get similar quotes that I had just seen online for these carriers. When the man helping me told me the prices to choose from, they were indeed cheaper than the previous quotes I had gotten the day before here, but they were still significantly higher than what I had seen online at home. I questioned if those were the cheapest rates and he swiveled his computer screen so I could see. In doing so, I noticed that the length, width, and height that he entered for my package dimensions, were all larger than their actual sizes. So I told him I thought my box wasn't as large as what he entered, and he made the adjustments accordingly. And I am left unsure of whether he made an honest mistake (all 3: length, width, and height had been entered slightly larger than they really are - he added about 1/2 to 1 inch to all 3 categories), or if he was purposely doing this to overcharge me. I hope it was just an honest mistake. And the only reason I caught it was because I happened to see it when he swiveled the screen to me because the price list hadn't yet loaded when I saw it, so I was still seeing the dimensions he entered. And I only knew the dimensions for certain because they were printed right on the cardboard box! The box literally said the dimensions right on it, printed directly to the box. So that's why I wasn't sure if he legit made a mistake or if this was deliberate. But when he made the adjustments to the dimensions, the price again went down for me to be closer in line to the quotes I saw on the websites I looked up at home. Anyway, I will give the benefit of the doubt that it was an honest mistake and will probably give this place one more chance. But I would definitely recommend knowing your package size BEFORE going in and also maybe looking up carrier quotes online first so you know approximately what the price range should be. If I hadn't known my dimensions and carrier quotes before entering this place, I likely would have just paid what he asked for and been significantly overcharged. read more

I needed to mail a nastygram, and one of the exhibits needed to be notarized. I was out running errands, and this was closest notary to my physical location. I chose this place for no other reason. I walk in; there are three staff members -- two occupied with other customers, one walking around appearing to make herself busy. No one says a thing - no hello; no "we'll be right with you;" no "how can I help you?" - nothing. Nothing at all. I'm running very short on time and I don't have the bandwidth to find another notary, so I stand there. Eventually, the one that was clearly trying to make herself busy, begrudgingly takes her post behind the counter and says "I can help you over here." I announce before even stepping forward that I need a document notarized. She tells me to step over to one of the counters near the door. Fine. Before the encounter got under way, however, I'd already got a sense for how it was going to go based on her earlier behavior and demeanor. Do you see how your demeanor and behavior can negatively impact a customer interaction before the customer interaction gets underway? Smfh. She comes over to the door-side counter with her little notary booklet, with a "huffing and puffing" kind of energy just radiating off of her person. I show her the document and I go to pull out my SS card and passport. I inform her that my SS card is the object of my request. Now, here's where her nasty ass personality jumps out and the "real-her" appears. She goes, VERY NASTILY, "I do not do those. I'm only doing your ID." She then proceeds to prepare her little nasty mouth to tell me about the notary guidelines -- AHN AHNNN! STOP. Save the Notary 101 lesson for somebody who gives a DAMN. For me, it was more about the tone she chose that turned me off. Had she chosen a non-condescending tone, I might've given her an opportunity to continue with her little schpeel, but she chose the contrary. I shut that shit down immediately; I told her point-blank to keep the little Information Session--I don't care for her little faux lesson session. If I wanted to know the ins and outs of notarization, I would've taken the little 1-day notary class instead of spending six-figures on a law school education. NOT INTERESTED SWEETIE. Notwithstanding that I told her--very matter of factly-- that she could spare me the notary lesson, she proceeds, in a very condescending manner, to give me a notary lesson about form completion and signing; she tells me, again in a very condescending way, "next time [which, there'll never be, btw], you can't sign the document before you arrive." At this point I've tuned her out and have queued up a bevy of condescending counter-responses to deliver in response to the bs flowing out of her mouth and radiating off of her person. Saying I was eager to GTF out of there and on with my day is an understatement. But for the fact that the post office was closing in 30 minutes and I needed to get the nastygram stamped and certified today, I would've totally went somewhere more deserving of my little $15. They didn't deserve a single penny of my money. Never again. Never. Again. If you want a notary and don't mind one with a nasty ass attitude, pull right on up - they got just what you need. If, however, you prefer to spend your money with a business that has respectable employees, there's a UPS about 5 minutes from here on Jefferson and Overland in the plaza next to Ralphs. This is not a good place if you sign up for their virtual mailbox. DO NOT USE THAT SERVICE THROUGH THIS PLACE! I signed up and got everything started. I changed one credit card address to test and then also ordered something small I could track as a test. I signed up 6/26 and changed the credit card. 2 weeks later mailbox has nothing in it despite me knowing for a fact something would have had to come as the credit card is pretty quick to send notification when you change address. I email the virtual mailbox service and they tell me I have to contact this place directly. Tuesday, July 11 according to UPS I received the package, Im thinking yes I must receive a notification by now. NOTHING. 3 days later, Friday, July 13 I call. A woman answers the phone and says she knows NOTHING about the virtual service but knows that stuff is suppose to happen all online. She was going to hang up!! End the call! And I stopped her asked What am I supposed to do? I am trying to figure out where my mail is. She says Ill leave a note for my boss and then takes my name and number. A few hours later, all of a sudden, I have 6 pieces of mail that were scanned to the account. As of time of this initial writing, it is now exactly 1 week later Friday, July 20. I have received no further mail. I have also not received the change of address letter from the credit card company. I do not know if I am going to post this yet (as in the day I am typing), because I dont want my mail to mysteriously disappear or something as I have yet to pick up those 6 pieces of mail (that is an option with the virtual service if I pay) and am scared to have it shipped since I cant even get this place to acknowledge that I have mail. I may wait to post until I have the mail I have received. This place is horrible for this service.If you come across ipostal1 virtual service do not use this mailbox service.I specifically chose this address after researching the other mailbox options close to me and this one got the best reviews ... but not so. Maybe for the regular service they are fine but I do not recommend for virtual. if they are not prepared or cant handle a virtual service then perhaps they shouldnt be involved in it.
