The managers are never here. No one answers the phone. And they overcharge you. This place closes at 5 PM and 6 PM. The most unreliable company I've ever dealt with. When something goes wrong here, there is absolutely no one available to help. The one time a manager happened to be on site, I arrived at 11:30 a.m. with a hired worker on an hourly rate, having taken time off work to move my boxes--only to find a sign saying the only elevator was "out of service for maintenance." No backup elevator, no prior notice, nothing. The manager on site had no clue whether it would take 5 minutes or 5 hours. If you're a day late on a payment, they chase you immediately. But when they shut down the only elevator in the middle of the workday, they can't be bothered to send a single message, email, or warning. read more

If there was a zero star option we would put it there, the managers at this location are never at the front desk but it says we're open, like how are you open but there is no one there for customers to access the building they said that since the corona virus pandemic things have been hectic which is totally understandable. But this location is not very busy it doesn't mean abandon the front dest and or Misinform, disconnect or fail to communicate to new new customers. The website says these are business hours open from 9:30 to 6 but between those times the one person working for that day is never there because there busy working on something else or working some where else. But they don't tell you that. They just leave, they just walk off and go some where else leaving us high and dry. If an accident was to happen. The elivator was to break down. There is no way to reach any one for help. It's not safe for any one Expecially if your disabled. Bathrooms were nasty and smelled nasty. Someone should always be their to tend to the restroom at least! Doors were supposed to be opened by 9:30 shameka the manager said that she was told she didn't have to open the doors at 9:30 she just has to be there at 9:30 so we were like well instead of having us play the guessing game why not speak to us and inform us as well as keep us updated on such things so we could at least know n be warned or informed on what is going on. We hate surprises. We paid $452.00 dollars every month as customers we deserve and explanation at least. Not saying shameka doesn't do her job but most of the time we have seen her in her car on her break for longer than she should be she explains why their is no one at the front dest all the time. No one answers when you call for assistance just so y'all know so don't bother there is a trick to getting a hold of customer service you cannot just call n be able to speak to them directly right away sooo! Idiotic security system shuts down without any warning and left my disabled cousin inside the storage with no access and I was outside trying to get in. Called several times with no response, only to be called the next day by the idiots that run to place instead of being apologetic mouthing off about being there after hours. We were practically stuck and unable to lock down the storage and forced out without being able to store the items that I had on the entry level waiting for their stupid elevator. The woman calling back a day later was extremely rude and threatening to cancel out the lease just signed literally a day before this incident. Leaving people stranded inside a building, especially a disabled elderly must be against all LA County Fire Codes and illegal. The stairs were also completely locked and covered with barbed wire. I will ask Fire Department to further investigate into this life safety violation, and will report the representative calling me to their corporate office. She needs to get off her high horse and quit the threatening lingo and provide a better costumer service. She later on called my cousin (the elderly disabled person) and started to threaten him. read more

I would never be dumb enough to store valuables at a storage so I never lose anything to complain about , sometimes can be cleaner or better service but I'm there to do my own thing so I guess I'm getting what I paid for , it stores my stuff and haven't had any damages incurred financially or physically so altogether decent place read more

***BEWARE*** This awful storage facility is getting 1 Star because I can't give it 0. This is my second terrible experience with Public Storage. 1. Customer service booked a storage unit way too small for me after I went over the items I had to store in detail. When I arrived with movers (the 2nd time which I'll get into) it was half the size I needed it to be and I had to rent another unit. This brought the grand total to $400/month. 2. The rep did not tell me the place closes at 5:30pm on Sunday and that you have no access afterwards. I showed up with movers at 6pm and their Customer Support actually laughed at me when telling me that their property manager would not let me in even under those circumstances and that the movers would have to put everything back into my apartment that I had already turned the keys in for. That cost me $600 and we had to return the next day while I had pneumonia. 3. Finally, today I showed up and the site manager was gone. When he returned 35 minutes later after performing a "bank run" I was livid because I was attempting to get ahold of him due to a faulty lock while he was away. I still hadn't gotten into my unit when he told me I NEEDED TO ASK HIM AND SAY PLEASE. I told him that this was his job and he told me he would not help me. Corporate has been contacted and this has been escalated. This place is bottom of the barrel storage-wise in every way. Do not store your items here! My aunt had a unit here for a year. In this past year we witnessed people living out of there units and homeless living around the building with no security. The unit in the last month here had been burglarized her unit was one of a handful of units on the ground floor that had been part of a string of burglary's. The people had broken in through the ceiling which was chicken wire and had ransacked the entire unit. The attached photos are the ceiling to the unit and the ones to the right and left of it. WARNING: this place gets broken into ALL the time. This is the worst public storage place in the world. Zero security cameras on storage floors, a staircase not covered by the four cameras they do have, multiple vagrants living inside of units. My unit was recently one of approximately 10 units that were broken into on the 5TH FLOOR. supposedly secure elevator/door access does nothing to prevent people with a crowbar popping locks off of your locker. Rental office people are the least forthcoming with information they can possibly be. Do not ever store your stuff here. read more

Yikes! I would really avoid Public Storage at all costs. I rented a unit here for 7 months or so--the rental unit was fine, but the customer service has been terrible. The people working at the actual location are nice, but corporate seems to not know how to do their jobs. Upon returning my unit, I was told some incorrect info on which day I would have to turn in the keys to not get charged for the whole month (note: they don't prorate here, so if you want to move out the 2nd of the month, you're going to have to pay for the whole month). I got it sorted out with the district manager, and he said he would prorate the amount for me and take out the charge from my account. Fast forward a month later, and I just got a collection call from an agency saying I owe them $140. Apparently, the first guy, Jonathan, that I spoke to who said he would handle the case, didn't do anything. Surely he got off the phone with me after assuring me that he would handle the charges, and thought he would take advantage of the situation. If you want a company like that handling your lease, then I would recommend PS. If not, then I would steer far far away. There are many other storage companies in the area who won't try to scam their customers like that. Luckily I got it sorted out just now, this time for real. I've been to a number other public storages and this one is just so bad that I have to write a review on it. Pay about 150 a month excluding that first month $1 offer, but still more expnsive than other ones I've seen. There's only one giant elevator that serves the whole place and an attendant has to operate it not you. First day we moved in stuff to the fourth floor, the man was very impatient while waiting for us to move things onto the lift. Then while we were upstairs someone rung for the bell but he came to our floor and yelled over "hey did you ring for the lift" and i said no, then he gave me the eye. Second time we moved more stuff in the lady was very impatient again and this time when we rung for the lift to go down she came up and said "you know next time you can just leave the carts here and walk down the stairs so you don't have to make me come up just to get you." how rude third time there was a lot of traffic so we arrived at 4:56 yesterday when they close at 5 on sundays so the lady didn't even let us move the stuff in and we had to bring it back home... worst customer service and public storage experience ever read more

Rating a storage place? Really? Yes. I needed a storage joint recently and more Yelp coverage would have really helped. Here's my story. I needed short term storage for my apartment and wanted it somewhere in Santa Monica. There are not many options other than P.S. and another joint on Cloverfield. I elected to go with P.S. because it was so much closer. I figured I'd spend less time driving and more time moving. I was right, sort of. The place has one elevator and a very small loading dock. The elevator was automatic, though - no waiting for anyone to operate it for you. They were working to expand the loading dock while I was there - but it still wouldn't be large enough to accommodate more than two pick-up trucks simultaneously. One moving van will block the whole dock. So, even though this place was right around the corner from me, I still ended up hoofing stuff up/down the stairs and without the benefit of the dock due to simple congestion. On the plus side, the loading area is covered, so you'll be comfortable in the shade/out of the rain while you're there, but that doesn't help much if you're in a line to load/unload your gear. Also, the dock is located in the same parking lot as Pier 1 on Wilshire - so it can get very cramped if you're trying to back in a large truck or any-size trailer. Anyway, the place is well kept and the staff were nice. Prices average around $150 a month - typical for the West Side. I really don't have any complaints other than the too-small dock size, the single elevator, and the tight quarters in the parking/loading area. If you have a lot of gear, are using a large truck, or will be using a trailer, you should look somewhere else. This place is definitely suited to smaller moves but it was fine for me when I needed it. read more

The customer service is between lazy, hardly agreeable and barely there. Quite often they were parked in loading areas and you would have to ask them move. There was a time they had 2 loud generators at the entrances and they were giving out notices to jack up the expensive rent. They don't have garbage cans around, don't keep the restrooms stocked. They get fussy to do their job. I encountered so many problems with them, only thing nice was the location. read more

We had reserved a space that was much too small, and Kerry spent a bunch of time working on finding a larger unit. I have to add our less than wonderful experience last week. Joanne, girl at the desk, made our day go way longer, since she mistakenly had the movers load up one storage unit, her mistake. BUt that wasn't all, she gave us the wrong unit for our second set of belongings, 2 units we had paid for. We thak fully hadn't loaded that one up yet. So it cost us an extra $150 to pay the movers for their time. No apology was forthcoming, instead she slipped out a side door rushing off somewhere. . Then we had to have the guys, put it downstairs into another unit, plus she was rather rude I must say. I have read these reviews, mostly glowing, but on friday we just didn't have the same friendly capable perosn at the front desk I see that others have had. read more

This is the worst place ever to rent a space! never in my whole life I would do such a dumb thing again. I want to scream the whole world how terrible they are and we should all sue them!!! I never write bad reviews on yelp and this is the first time I am doing it. Please be aware of it! I rented a unit at the end of July and it was just for one month so I went there still 5 days prior to my due date in order to move out and they told me that it was impossible because the elevator was broken. I had nobody helping me and I really needed the elevator and that's the only reason I agreed to get a unit in the second floor. So I decided to wait to see if they would fix the elevator but nothing was done and then I got worried because of the date that I had supposed to move out and I tried to reach Anthony the manager 10 TIMES and he even screamed at me and said he couldn't talk to me because he had another thing to do. I went there 5 TIMES trying to solve this because I DIND'T want to be charged for something that it wasn't my fault. Then the lady who works there told me she had talked to Anthony and he said I could move out when the elevator gets fixed. He called me he told me the same thing. So I did it. Now more than a month later I am in Asia spending vacations trying to relax and I get a call from a collection company saying my name was there because of a debt that I have with public storage. I am so so so pissed with this place, they literally RUINED my vacations and I CANT WAIT to go back home to finally solve this problem with my attorney, because I am really tired of this situation. They have a terrible customer service and this manager is always lying to the costumers as you guys can see in other reviews here. Please do yourself a favor and don't rent a unit at this place, unless you want problems in the future. read more

They advertise $1 for the first month, but with the hidden admin fee and other fees, it comes out to $40 for the first month and it jumps to $112 for the second. Pros: Very safe area, your stuff is not likely to get stolen. One of the front desk workers is friendly, the other one is very rude. read more

Staff is super friendly here and made it easy for me to check in and start loading up my unit quickly. There is a loading dock to pull your truck up to and the elevators are wide enough for bringing thru extra large items. It never seems to be super busy here which is a plus. I had the best moving experience ever today! Caesar was so accommodating! He went above and beyond and I appreciate him so much! I had a unit booked and I realized it wasn't big enough and Caesar was nice enough to show me serval other unit that could accommodate my move. He was able to get me an additional unit on the same floor for convenience. I had such a long day and was anxious to get my items in before the storage closed at 6pm.
