Absolutely horrible experience for just the 3 months I was here. Very unprofessional. Several times the elevators were not working and only one worked. The first one if you had parked at the back near the third building you didn't know the elevators were out of order until you walked up to one. Super annoying. They adjusted my bill for two of the months but to have the elevators not working on different days. Random days that I would show up constantly. Just unacceptable buyer beware!! read more

I have a mixed review... on one end the facility itself seems very secure and clean. You have 2 gates to go through and then also have a code to the elevator, which feels safe. However, taking a star away based on an experience and would like to give warning to others. I came about 20 minutes before closing to grab 1 item. I spoke to the person working and they failed to mention that if my car wasn't outside of the facility by 6:00 and 1 second, my car would be stuck in! I was at the last gate to the street exiting and the gate starts lowering and I honk at the guy in the office and he doesn't acknowledge me. Finally, he comes out with his backpack on ready to go, and says I can't open the gate it's automatic, and I am just so confused?? I told him that given that was going to happen the polite thing to have done is give me a heads up that the gate closes and doesn't open at all promptly at 6. I asked him what am I supposed to do, and he said you can call the number on the door and left (with me and my car still in the building). The customer service line doesn't actually connect to anybody and since It is private property the police can't assist. I ended up leaving my car and coming back in the morning, but want to give a heads up and suggest the employees give anyone that is there near closing a heads up the gate closes and CAN NOT REOPEN at 6:00 on the dot. Yes, I know that It is partially my fault coming near the end of the day but this place closed early and working makes that hard, if I was given a heads up I would have came back another day. read more

Our unit gotten broken into twice in two days with a new lock the location sold us. They will not provide us a new unit, I can't speak to a manager because no one will call me back, the email bounced and the person in office said he can't do anything without a manager. The black is completely broken down and they have barely any cameras so very easy to steal things and get away with it. Pull your things from this location. Not safe at all. read more

BEWARE - I made a reservation to rent a storage unit. I never moved in and cancelled the reservation. I was still charged for the reservation. I called customer service and asked them to reverse the charge. They told me that since I never moved in they couldn't reverse the charge. The customer service representative suggested that I file a dispute with my credit card company to get the charge reversed. A few weeks after the dispute was filed, an employee from Public Storage called me and threatened to send my bill to collections if I didn't pay the bill. I informed the employee from Public Storage that I never moved in and cancelled my reservation. But she wouldn't listen and keep harassing me to pay the bill and threaten to send my bill to collections. I would never recommend anyone to use Public Storage. Their website is misleading when it says no credit card required for a reservation and then they go on to charge me when I canceled the reservation and never moved into the unit. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I've been a tenant at this location for several years. I live in the neighborhood so it's convenient to pass by as needed to get work related items for my business. Over past few years the building became very run-down. However, recently the entire facility has undergone a top to bottom renovation. They've installed 4 new elevators, painted the walls and floors. Installed new bathrooms and redid the landscaping. Most importantly they've installed new and improved security cameras everywhere. The place is now immaculate. Clean and very professionally run. The new manager, Chaquill and district manager, Doug as well as the staff I've met (Miguel) are all super cool. Friendly but professional. Anyone who had a bad opinion in the past should check out the new facility. I know my property is in good hands. read more

This Public Storage is big, secure, in a great location and easy to get in and out of. The staff is very friendly and helpful with all storage needs. Boxes, tape and all packaging supplies are on hand. Every time I come to public storage I get a hello how are you today, the staff is the best part of Public Storage. read more

When I first rented at this facility about a year ago, March of 2024, I was very happy with the rates, and the customer service from Troy and Regina. I compared this with other self storage facilities that were close by and this was easily the best deal. However, the good rate went up rather quickly. by August, a hundred dollars a month had been added to my rent! I still made all my payments on time, until recently when I had some hardship in my life, including the fires in Los Angeles County. I talked to Regina at Public Storage and she gave me a website to check into where Public Storage would give me a discount because I was a victim of the fires. However, the website never worked. Public Storage send very upsetting threatening messages when ever I am as little as two weeks late. I've tried to explain and sometimes my Pay comes in at a different time and I have to pay on the 14th. This does not matter to Public Storage. They are constantly threatening to add expensive service charges, and if I don't pay to put a lien hold on all of my things. This means that I lose access completely, and they will auction it off, even if I offered to pay. This is one of the cruelest business practices I've ever experienced and I am very disappointed with the way Public Storage has treated me. I don't blame Regina. She's just doing her job. But there is no compassion at this place. It is all about collecting as much money from you as possible and if you get a little behind, they're happy to permanently separate you from your treasures forever. I highly recommend that you avoid this place like the COVID-19 plague. They do not care about people they care about profit and they are terribly cold blooded. The sidewalk in front of the door to get into the Customer Service area as an improperly constructed ramp as a result I had a terrible fall from my wheelchair just going out the door and bang myself up. However, I don't like to sue anybody, and I tried to resolve this with them by giving them a heads up about the proper way to install a ramp they could fix it with a little bit of cement. But they haven't fixed it. It's still a tremendous hazard for anybody that is trying to get in and out of that door and they're in a wheelchair; this just exemplifies their attitude towards human life and limb, versus profit. I've also witnessed huge drug deals going down in this parking lot during daylight hours. Please avoid this location. You take your life in your hands by going there. read more

If you want to be extremely frustrated, store your things here. Someone broke into my unit. A work order was put in to fix it and I was told it would be taken care of that week. A month later, no fix. So I move my stuff out. And the the next day, I call to vacate the unit but someone else moved in since the door was still not fixed. It's clearly this places fault but they won't accept this. The customer service is some of the worst I've dealt with. I've tried reaching a manager to no avail. Stay away! read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I recently found out that my unit was broken into and had a lot of valuable items stolen. I was told that within the past few weeks over 30 units experienced the same issue and police reports have been filed but not much from the Storage facility has been done to rectify the problem. Apparently this has been going on for a very long time with nothing done at all to ensure these type of issues don't happen again. Cameras is the facility only show the elevators and nothing down the halls or stairwells which makes it easy for theft to occur w/o being caught. If you read through older reviews you'll find out that this has been happening for a very long time. If you do rent here you can almost be sure at some point your unit will be broken into. Management is doing nothing to fix the issue and provide a safer facility for customers renting. I've filed a police report and hired a private investigator to look into this because for this to happen for so long w/o anything ever being done to fix makes me wonder what's really going on. read more

DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE! My husband & I had our storage unit broken into with $3000 worth of items stolen. Our neighboring unit was also broken into (one of his items was left in our unit). Our lock was tampered with in December but not finally fixed until a week a go (right AFTER the theft) however they made us feel it was our fault for the lock not being securely locked. It appears these thefts have been going on for way too long without being rectified.. makes you wonder why not!!??? There are no employees on site from 6-9pm but tenants can still enter at this time. We were informed by employees they think it's a customer who has gate access that comes between 6-9 to steal then leaves through the stairwell which the thieves know has no cameras. The thieves are low life losers & the guy who is in charge clearly dgaf so he's just as much to blame. read more

My storage unit was broken into THREE TIMES in my first year. The on-site staff have been really cool and understanding but their supervisors just don't seem to care at all - I have called and left multiple messages for both local and regional supervisors and have also emailed them and they have not even bothered to respond. Today I finally reached someone in "customer service" (what service?!) and was told that I was wasting my time because, even if I had an opportunity to speak with one of the supervisors, it would not do any good because Public Storage renters take the space at their "sole risk". AVOID!!!! 90% of everything in my unit was destroyed by a leak in the ceiling and Public Storage has refused to take responsibility since being notified 3 weeks ago, including confirming whether the leak was fixed. (I have also been responsible for continuing to pay rent.) I have not been able to get a hold of a single person to assist me with this issue, including the property manager, the district manager, or corporate. While insurance did cover some of the loss I obviously have had to eat a large amount of money. Not only did PS not apologize for the loss, but they refused to inspect the unit, which was a little shocking since who knows how extensive the leak was or whether it had spread to other units. Verbatim the property manager literally said "Mam, I don't know what you expect me to do. I'm not a roofer." Uh, maybe call a roofer...just a logical thought.) There are so many other facilities in the area. For your own sake avoid this one like the plague. read more

I am in a huge lawsuit with this company. I know hundreds of people that have been ripped off. They are definitely running an inside ring. They can get into your storage unit without any pass code, key or sign in. Zero!!! A total inside job. I have spoken to many people that have lost their whole life collections. If I could say anything to my fellow Yelpers, it would be, make sure you COMPLETELY check the storage unit before you move your stuff in! Bang on the walls, check all cracks, test the lock..... just don't end up like us. If something is wrong, you can still request another unit at that time. We did the $1 for the first month deal (of course, you pay for the 2nd month when you move in; your second month is when you pay the dollar). We got to move in for $31 total in a 9 by 7 unit. 4th floor so it has natural light (the other floors must be creepy as hell) and they have helpful dollies for you to check out. You can bring most small moving trucks into the garage to the elevator, but since ours was so big, we parked in the gated alley and came in through the side entrance. Ladies at the front desk were nice and joked around with us. Slowest elevator I've ever used in my life. Now, for why I am posting this review. Anyway, AFTER we took a few hours unloading and playing Tetris, we noticed that the flimsy wall was coming off in one corner; we could easily push it open. The walls are all a thin plywood with a cardboard strength (no exaggeration). Anyone can kick in any wall. The desk lady came upstairs with a hammer and started asking about it and trying to hammer the wall back in place, effectively making it worse. She asked us several times if we had leaned anything against the wall (no, we hadn't) but even if we had, isn't that what walls are for? Since it was a Saturday, she would have to call the manager, who would get back to us by Monday. Our moving team had been there all day and people had to leave and return the truck, so there was no way in hell we were unpacking everything. "Good thing you have insurance" was about all she was able to say. Sure, it's cheap, but you should probably check out other storage places before this one. Security here is a joke. read more

There are two reps that are here that... I'm honestly not sure how they have jobs. EVERY single time I'm there these two "Felicias" just give attitude and have even outright yelled and verbally harassed me. I can't even ask a basic question without having to get extra drama from them. The main drama one is named Dekaysia. Want a basic question answered? Hope you have the manager guy because the two young women here are seriously inept, incompetent and really need to be without jobs. I thought maybe it might be one bad day but it's consistent. Public storage should be pretty simple and easy. It should not have extra drama... but yet it does every time with these girls. There is a basic level of expectation for service and consideration that should be present but it's lacking here. When you can't even go in to ask a question without getting negativity it's over the line. If you work somewhere your job is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for the people you are serving... when you can't even do that it's a MAJOR problem and people have to go. I hope it happens in the new year because this has been going on for months and merits a corporate phone call already. The fact that the attitude isn't even a millimeter better days before the holidays is attrocious. The property manager LaRome is awesome though and super helpful. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!! Like a lot of other people recently my unit was broken into and i only found out when i went to my unit to move. Apparently, according to the very rude and dismissive front desk person they tried to contact me once on Dec 13th. I went in on Jan 29th. My unit has been accessible since the beginning of December and no one thought to leave me a voicemail, email or make another phone call. The lady actually tried to make it seem like it was my fault because my lock was so flimsy and that Public Storage had kindly saved my stuff by putting their own lock on it but if you actually looked properly at the gate, the thieves had sawn through the metal bolt on the gate so any lock would have been irrelevant. Hence my unit being open for over a month. There are so many reviews saying almost the same thing that i wouldn't be surprised if this was an inside job. There are no cameras on the hallways so whoever broke in had enough time to ransack the unit. When i asked for the managers number the lady at the front desk asked why and almost laughed when i said i wanted to complain. Awful place and very unsafe. Horrible experience! While moving in my 4 year old and I slipped and fell on wet floor coming off the elevator on our storage floor. No caution sign to be seen, was told it was an OCD renter that mopped the floor randomly. Upon move out the elevators were down. Was forced to go up and down flights of stairs. Many bugs in my things now!!! Mites and spiders!! Old, run down, not clean, and bugs! Lucia couldn't be bothered. Wish I went somewhere else. read more

This place is an absolute unsafe dump that in no way shape or from meets safety code. I have had issues many times here with the elevator and last time I it trapped myself and my friend inside it. Luckily we where able to disassemble the lock on the elevator door to get out but was still late to work and lost out in a days pay. People now this is service !!! All companies should learn from John @ Public Storage on Olympic & Barrington. After I made my online reservation I got a phone call from the location saying I should come in and get everything setup before the moves show up. I went to the location John was super friendly and a real pro !!!! John explained everything to me even before I signed anything (that is service), he showed me around and explained how it all works. After we finished the paper work and he wished me a great weekend he ask me to try once for myself the code that I got to be sure that I don't have issues, love it ! I was in a last-minute hurry to store items with a plane leaving the very next morning. Headed to the Public Storage on Olympic and was not only completely taken care of immediately by Susie, but was aided in every way in my last minute emergency. She did not stall or waver and was not only genuinely friendly but extremely professional. The storage went off without a hitch. And not one week later I received a phone call from Susie that she had been verifying the safety of all the units and noticed that mine was not completely locked securely and called me herself in another state to notify me of the issue. She ask if I could come to secure the unit, but when I mentioned I was out of state - she took care of the lock issue without a second question. Not only did she secure the unit, but didn't try to charge me for the additional lock they placed but professionally, with only customer-service in mind, made and will keep, a customer for life. LOTS OF THEFT. Do not rent here. I recently had my unit broken into. I spoke with the front desk and they could not care any less. I called the police and the officers told me they are at this location all the time. While I was speaking to the officers someone else came over who also had their unit broken into. DO NOT RENT HERE until they can put surveillance on all units. If you do rent here do not keep any valuables in your unit. In my case the thieves either picked the lock or came through an adjacent locker. I was most annoyed by the complete lack of caring by the staff, which is a clear sign this probably happens ever day.
