Avoid this place, Julio is completely rude. When I rented the unit in January, my monthly rate was $125. It was subsequently increased to $151, and I am now being notified that it will increase again to $210. So in approximately seven months, my rent has gone from $125 to $210, a 68% increase overall, with two separate increases in less than a year. I understand that the rental agreement allows for rate adjustments with proper notice. However, two increases totaling 68% within approximately seven months is extremely excessive and reinforces my concern that this is simply not a reasonable way to treat a new customer. I've asked the manager to please reconsider this rate increase and I was completely ignored. I will be moving out. This place is terrible. read more

The property manager Julio is a short, irritating man who follows the tenants around and scolds them like they're children. Clearly he is one of those people who thinks because he's in management that he's so powerful. Classic short man syndrome. The other employees are wonderful and pleasant and I have never had any other issue but the property manager really needs to be taken down a peg, and it's pathetic that he has nothing better to do than to harass tenants who pay alot of money for units over nonsense. Excellent storage unit experience. I did thorough research and chose to do business here versus another nearby storage unit due to increased safety and value. There are 2 gate entries, but functions as 1-way out for heightened security and you must use your access code going and coming. I was sold on the working elevators, ramps and stairs, multiple loading docks and moving carts that are secured at each loading dock. The office stocks and sells moving supplies and has a bathroom. There are motion lights so the halls are well lit. I like that they also use cylinder locks which makes it harder for thieves to break in. It's an air conditioned, indoor storage unit so your belongings are safe. read more

We just started renting here and I'm already dreadfully anticipating the insane rent increases I keep hearing about. There is a huge disconnect between corporate, the website, and the workers at the local facility itself. I blame and fault corporate for their lack of transparency (rent increases, the inconsistent pricing on the website verus what you're quoted in person, etc.) You can't fault the workers at this facility - corporate sets them up to fail. I would give 3 stars, but giving 4 stars given strictly for Maggie, who was very helpful and kind (despite watching her deal with a difficult customer) and for dealing with corporate's inconsistent pricing. The unit and establishment itself is quite clean and felt safe storing our stuff there. However, based on the reviews and from talking to other renters while we were at the facility, it's gross negligence and nasty business practice to raise prices by 50-100% for no change whatsoever in the unit itself. I already expect we're going to have to move our stuff elsewhere within the same year if they raise it this much. Let people live. read more

The Good: Units are inside. Staff is helpful. Building is secure and in that sense my things feel safe. The Bad: As a long time customer they'll reward your loyalty by continuing to raise your rent well beyond what the market price commands. They're currently charging me $100 more for a unit the same size but on the ground level (i.e. a more desirable unit because of its ease of access). When asked about it, they still just continue to raise it over time -- mind you there are 4 units of that size available while continuing to raise the rates on those loyal to them. Clothing moths have twice destroyed nice wool, silk and cashmere garments of mine. So if you're storing clothing with natural fibers, keep in mind you'll want an air tight garment bag. Inside units are still pretty open to the environment and keep in mind you're in the city. So unfortunately I'll occasionally find rat droppings in my unit. While the place is decently well kept it's worth noting these realities. But seriously if you plan on keeping things there for a long portion of time, know that they're going to leverage the convenience factor of you not wanting to move items out to a new business, and over-charge you well beyond market rate. It took 2 hours for the staff to register me. That should have been a clue. The starter cost was great for the first 2 months. I stored a vehicle under cover and had a storage unit. I had been on auto pay and paid in full each month. Then they doubled the storage cost for the third month. Then the fourth month they doubled it again. The beginning of May the new manager, Tonya, called to ask if I was keeping my parking slot as there was no vehicle there. I said I am fully paid and on auto pay, and asked if there was some problem. She was very snippy saying some people just vacate. (now I know why) This is an RV, so obviously it will be empty when I travel. I was concerned why this was even questioned. That should have been clue #2. Because of the triple price increase on the storage unit, I let them know three weeks in advance I was vacating the storage unit by the end of the month. In the meantime someone broke the front gate and it was unsecure and wide open for three weeks. One week before the end of the month I let them know the storage unit was empty and reconfirmed I was still keeping the vehicle there. I went out of town for the weekend May 31-Jun, 2025. Monday morning, June 2, I see the email to pay. I go onto the website to pay and can't log in. I call customer service and she tries to help. Then she says oh wait, they have locked you out. They said you vacated. I explained this was an error I only vacated the storage unit and had the emails to prove that. Apparently, Tonya, decided I asked too many questions or something. Who knows anymore with the lack of customer service. I checked through my emails and sure enough there was a second email on June 1 to vacate with threatening verbiage. No advance notice no explanation, nothing. I had no time to make alternative storage. I had given them three weeks notice, then was out 1 week in advance. At any point they could have informed me of their intent. What if I had gone out of town for a week or two? The notice said they would take possession of my vehicle and start legal proceedings. I asked for the area supervisor to call and never heard from them. I would NOT recommend this location. read more

Alright, after several emails and a lot of patience, I'm happy to say that US Storage came through and reimbursed me for the money I was put out for taking off work and then being locked out of my unit (preventing me from moving) as well as reimbursing me for the remaining time in the month that I did not occupy the unit. From an overall standpoint, I think this is a good storage center. Security and cleanliness are good. The customer service is also pretty good other than the frustration I experienced when it came time for me to move out and I was unable to do so for the reasons I initially wrote about. The only thing I'd say prevents me from updating this review with 5 stars is the speed in which my feedback was handled and responded to. It felt like I was taking all the initiative in communication so I really had no idea if anything was going to actually happen until I found a check in my mailbox 2 months after I moved out of my unit. read more

They decided to raise my rent on my unit by just about double within thirty days with no warning. I could have originally put it in any one of a hundred other locations that charge way less than they do and only moved there cause it was slightly less than the competition. but now it will be higher than anyone and of course i am living on the other side of the country now and can't do a thing about it. this is one of the worst places in LA they close on every even slight holiday and and have the most limited hours and now are gonna be higher prices than anyone. i don't even know how i am gonna afford this and will probably lose everything. i hope this place goes out of business for treating their loyal customers like complete garbage. US storage notorious for price hike gauging in our case within about 3-4 months from $362 /mo to $485/, we complained supposedly they drop to $409+ change in Dec, then the automated payment system did not change to the new price of $409 , we've called for 3 weeks multiple times daily ongoing weekly the site mgr nor the district managers never called to correct the overage , the rep at the location said the mgr was coming back from vacation and we could speak to have him correct the issue the site representative saw in fact the payment made the month prior. was the $409 payment in Dec , so she said make the $409 and the mgr could call the district mgr for him to take off the overage f, then the next day we saw now there's the overage and the automated system is also charging a late fee , which is incorrect , we're now hitting the end of the month and we still have not had a call back from the site manager not the district mgr and their also charging us a late fee , As far as customer service US Storage policy for customer call back from a mgr is suppose to be within 24-48 hours , the site mgr and the district mgr after 3weeks still have not called me back nor corrected the incorrect overage charges plus now it's showing a late fee, they also have rat problems ,We are now force to report this to the california agencies handling storage facility price gauging complaints read more

We used yelp to find the facility. There are a few local options in Marina Del Rey but the reviews steered us here. THANK YOU YELPERS!! Julio, the manager for 10 years, was professional and very nice. He made sure to consider our needs before taking us to look at units. He got the perfect one on the first try. Being a woman I of course wanted to see all the options before deciding but he nailed it on try 1. Lol. We toured the facility and this place is very clean. Nice bathrooms too. There were a few other customers loading units and they were friendly as well. They were both using loading carts which you can borrow for free from the office if you give your DL. We also got a military discount due to my guy being an active marine. Definitely recommend this place!!! read more

A quick visit here to see how US Storage Centers does business is a real eye-opener. The manager was a guy named Walter and he did not wear a mask. The first thing he asked: What are you going to store? I asked to see a 100 square foot unit. The price was $492.50/month. He took me to see a unit. We walked down a long hall to the far end of the building near the loading dock. We arrived at unit 1228 which seemed kind of small as the door was only 4 to 5 feet wide. Walter said one shouldn't judge a unit by the door size. He opened the door to 1228 and the room was about 15 feet by 5 feet and that is generous. The far end of the unit may have been 4 feet wide. The end wall of the unit had numerous pipes on it; were they electrical, plumbing or both? The unit seemed filthy. Walter said that unit 1228 may not be available when and if I were to return to rent unit 1228. Why didn't he show me a typical 10x10 or a clean unit? Was he showing me the worst unit they had? He didn't show me another unit. Walter said the building was very secure but didn't say anything about there being any alarms on the units. They sell locks for $16.99 yet you can buy the same lock online for less than $7.00 from Chinrose. You know what is frightening? I took a tour of the same facility a few years ago; the manager on duty showed me the same malformed and dirty unit. Uncanny. read more

This place is complete trash because of the ONE COMPLETELY WORTHLESS EMPLOYEE THAT CALLS HIMSELF THE MANAGER. You will NEVER be able to get access to anything that you have in storage because they only have ONE employee that that is essentially ALWAYS on "patrol." You have to go to his office to get a key to unlock carts to get things out of your unit. However he also "CLAIMS" he does an hourly inspection of every lock on every unit for "security." Because he is the only employee there is no one else to do literally anything so what that means is that they shut and lock the front door with a "be back at whatever time sign." 2 times ago I waited 30 minutes and the last time it was almost an hour. He doesn't carry a phone with him so there's literally no way to contact him to come let you in. There is also no standard lunch hour so he shuts and locks the office whenever he feels like for an hour then too. Additionally let me say this place is massive and there is LITERALLY ZERO PERCENT CHANCE he's walking the entire facility checking every lock every hour on the hour. Even if he was it's completely unnecessary as you need a pin code to get through the gate, your locker has a key, and there is an alarm and surveillance system. All you need is a morning and evening walk through. They could solve all of this by literally hiring one additionally person to have two on shift so one could walk around and the other could work the desk if that's really what they wanted to do. If you're fine waiting 30-45 min literally EVERY TIME you come here while the one employee spends 85% of his day F*****G off with office locked then check this place out. If not absolutely pay more to rent elsewhere. read more

When I first rented a unit in the Chatsworth facility, the price was the best in town. Not any more. My price is going up again this February, making it the third increase in fewer than two years. What I don't like are tactics like this where they raise the rent as standard procedure after five months which apparently is common practice so this letter is what they send to everyone as part of the business plan, but to make it nicer they cite costs that every person and business is facing at the moment with Covid. They also use the first month at half price as a justification. "Although we strive to give you the best storage rental value for your money, it has become necessary to increase the rental rate on your unit to keep up with the supply and demands of the market, the ever increasing costs of doing business (i.e. taxes, utility increases, inflation, property improvements, increasing vendor costs and upkeep). This letter is to serve as your thirty (30) day notice for a rental rate change on your unit noted above. Your monthly rent for the space will change from $159.50 to $173.50 per month. The new Rental rate will be in effect starting with your payment due on or after May 1, 2021." The best part is "although we strive" because I am certain you aren't "striving" to do much of anything if in fact rent increases happen as standard business practice after five month. How about if someone is struggling? This isn't very responsible or sensitive in times like these unless your objective as a business is to squeeze the customer with the only alternative being take it or leave it. The manager Julio was incredibly professional, friendly and patient in answering my questions. There were no surprise fees at checkout, as Julio was great at explaining the initial set up & monthly fees, a lock purchase...etc). Their monthly rates are pretty fair for the area too. I've rented other storage units with different companies in the past, and I gotta say that what you see in the photos is exactly what you're gonna get. Heads up they ask you to rate in the office right when you sign up. If you're goal is to have access to your stuff, with the large number of storage facilities in LA, do yourself a favor and pick a different one. **CubeSmart Self Storage is 15 minutes from here, has a current 35% off a month promotion and provides access on all holidays.** Positives: -discount on first 2 months (note - this is negated quickly by the automatic rent increase in less than 5 months) -easy to use code accessed gate when they are opened -large space -easy automatic payment Negatives: -Rent rose by 20 a month with in the first 5 months -Notification emails all look like invoice emails, you must open the attachment to see what they are sending -Units are closed on ALL holidays (I am assuming this because I've come on days that I still have work - I work for a Fortune 500 corporate company and have many emails with their hey we're closed x day). Tenants are not notified of closings until 2-3 days before. For someone that flew specifically to get to my storage unit to have it closed with prior 3 day notification is unacceptable. I was traveling at this time without internet. I confirmed with their corporate that the other facilities are accessible on holidays when the office is closed, just not this one. -Hours are not correct, they close 15 minutes before their posted times. I just recently moved out of my storage unit at US Storage because I moved back into an apartment. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. The facility feels clean and very secure. Access is pretty reasonable in terms of how far away you might have to park and walk to your unit. There are lots of carts and tools available for use while moving in and out. And the prices are very reasonable. The only thing I might mention are that the facility hours are a little bit short, but that was only ever an issue once. I could see if you were going in and out of your unit regularly that it might be an issue but for someone like me who just moved in and moved out, it was not an issue. I would store my things here again in a heartbeat! This is a rare gem in the not-so-glamorous self-storage industry. read more

U.S. Storage Centers knows this full well, and takes advantage of this fact. They know that most people just want to put their things 'somewhere safe' and not worry about it. The PROBLEM is, they are NOT CLEAR about what happens when you are ready to move out. There are NO BIG SIGNS saying anything about cancellation, etc. THEY WANT YOU STAY and pay them forever. And then claim that you should know what all the fine print says. Listen, I don't fault the employees, they just work there. However, when your customer is MAD because they are charged $884.50 for only 6 days in the storage unit, that is SIMPLY WRONG. DO something about it. Don't get mad back at the customer. I am infuriated and feel totally wronged. Unfortunately I still have a small storage unit there and I'm worried that they'll do something to raise my rent.
