This was the most reasonable price and greatest customer service for a storage facility I've ever experienced after renting over 6 units in the past 10 years. The facility is older, but clean, and the elevators are large and recently renovated. After renting from the big name places which raised the rent to over double in the span of 3 years, it was refreshing to have a modest $15 rent increase after 2 years! The front desk staff are wonderful and its nice to have carts and bathrooms available on site. read more

This places business model is literally a scam. The prices to get in are fine, but they raise your rent every few months making it extremely expensive. I decided to leave because it was so expensive and so I moved all of my stuff out before the end of the month. They told me that because I didn't give them enough notice, they charged me $320 for the month I wasn't in there and the space was empty. The units are dank, wet, and smell bad. There's also no lighting in the units and very little light in the hall so moving stuff in and out of there isn't easy. David in customer service was not nice or understanding and seemed happy to scam me out of over $300. I urge anyone to go with public storage or any other company. I was with public storage at one point before and it seemed to cost a bit more to get in, but in the long run I ended up being much less expensive than this EZ storage. read more

Recently moved out of my storage in the valley. The price had become unreasonable and I have just moved to the west side. I signed up at this location late last week and Raquetta and Blanca has been extremely helpful! My wife and I rented a truck and moved all the belongings from the old storage to EZ storage yesterday, got there an hour before closing - so we were definitely on a time crunch to get everything in in order to return the truck on time. I'm embarrassed to admit but in the midst of renting the truck and emptying the old storage I lost the key to my new lock - however EZ storage was quick to cut my lock and my wife and I were able to get everything in in time for closing. I was very fortunate to find EZ Storage, close to my home in WestLA. Had a locker there for close to 5 years, and just recently closed it for I no longer needed the extra storage space. I just can say enough about the facility (clean, safe, accessible), and the staff who were always so friendly, present and kind. Even when I closed the unit, they were very gracious and helpful. There are many choices for storage in West LA, but not sure you'll any other facility that would match the value that EZ provides. read more

The elevator has been out for I don't know how long. You can only get into your storage from 10 am to 6pm. Someone broke into the inside storages, there are no security cameras inside. For as much as they charge you for a unit This place shouldn't have that many problems. read more

Great location and really great management. I had several phone conversations before having time to see the unit. this location does not contract with uhaul anymore, but uhaul still lists them as a pick up location. uhaul will message you later and say they moved your pick up location. EZ is not to blame but i think they should clear this up with uhaul to prevent last minute moving stress. EZ does not even have a phone number, only an intercom at the storage facility gate, to add more stress to your move. read more

Got there and they said no carts do to covid,, excuse me, wtf, now how do I get all the stuff from the 3rd. floor and all the way at the end ? They said I should have brought a cart or dolly. And then they wouldn't let me talk to a manager, and to make things worse I called corporate and they hung up on me twice. If you have a concern or an issue you have to write to "corporate" who doesn't receive or make any calls to you personally. This place is the worst. Rat feces all over all of my belongings. Every time I'd come and clean them out never failed they'd be there again next time I came. The older Latina lady in the front is god awful. I have had 2 different spaces there the first one I was paying 465 a month and the second was 296 after I consolidated everything. Given it is marina del Rey adj I get the price. Not only are their hours absurd (10am-6:30pm) they have a one hour window in the middle of the day "for lunch" when their gone which is really a pain when you don't live anywhere close to the place. About 4 times I've had to sit outside and wait up to an hour and a half to access my storage because doesn't normal people's days start @8am? And it says they close at 7 which they mind as well say 6 because they'll start harassing you starting then by having workers walk back and forth by your unit reminding you they're closing RIGHT at 7 emphasizing that they have to have you out before. They threatened to charge me 456 for an entire month if I didn't have the first unit sweeped by closing meaning they were going to charge me not only for the new one 296 but an additional 456 for the old one I had taken everything out of and was completely empty. I failed to bring a broom which I guess IS my fault but they were so rude about it and didn't offer to let me at least barrow a broom so I ended up having to go to target buy a 15 dollar one and come back barely having enough time to put all my stuff in the new one. When I closed out my account I had a 365 past due balance that I was unaware of. They absolutely rape you in late charges with no grace period. So I asked if I can pay by card. Of course she said no and then told me she's going to close the account so it will alert collections and it will most likely go on my credit report. I'm like "why can't you put it on the card then?!" She was so rude and just shamed her head and said, "Sorry. Only cash." As she looks super annoyed having to even deal with me at all looking back and forth at the clock. I asked if I could pay partial Bc I only had 350 on me and I needed that cash to pay the movers helping me that's all I had in cash on me and there was no time to run to an atm and these guys were wanting to leave and go home, understandable. Rules are rules I get it. But seeing how I've been a trusted customer for over 4 years, couldn't there have been an exception. I mean with the broom or allowing me to bring the other half of the payment the next day eight when they open. Ans what is I didn't have that kind of cash on me (who does?!?) you mean to tell me you're going to let this be reported and affect my ability to buy a house one day or just knock down my score over this!?!? Such utter Bulls#%t!! And your rude on top of it, EVERY-TIME?!? Maybe you'll have a different experience then me if you store here. I really like the black lady that works there. I wish I would have had to deal with her with these issues. We own a restaurant in town and she was such a breath of fresh air I went out of my way to give her a gift card for being neutral and kind. Such a hideous storage experience that went on for years. We are at life storage now in Calabasas and truly night and day in comparison. For about a 1/3 less to top it off for the same amount of space. I'd tell my friends avoid this place like the plague! read more

Someone apparently came to their facility with a fradulent copy of my drivers license and opened a storage unit in my name about a year and half ago. I live in Orange County and have only been to LA a couple times in my life. I called and spoke with the manager, Blanca Castillo, who is refusing to give me the date it was opened so I can file a police report. I have offered to notarize a copy, do a zoom session or email her a copy of my actual photo id and she has refused all of those options, stating that I have to drive all the way down to their facility in LA to show her my ID in person. I should not have to be inconvenienced to correct their errors! I also asked if they have cameras. Blanca replied that they do, yet she has made no attempt to look at those cameras on the date it was opened, and investigate herself to verify that it was not me who opened the unit. She claims that they do not have access to their own cameras. So, if they do not have access, then the cameras do not good and anyone who rents a unit here can be assured that their belongings are not safe. They also recently sent me a certified letter which I did not get. Blanca stated she could email me a copy of the letter to the email on file which also does me no good; because it is fraudulent, it is not my correct email address. I am the victim here and I am getting no help! Do NOT do business with this facility because they will not help you if anything should happen and they do not care at all! read more

My friend just called me in tears as her storage unit was broken into. She lost all of her valuables-- he daughters basic necessities, her luxury items that she worked so hard for and her husbands entertainment items. How is this possible? From reading previous comments I can see that this is the culture of EZ storage. And from reading someone's else's post -- there are no cameras (only from outside), this has happened to others, and the personnel are shady and probably an inside job. I've been a customer here for more than twenty years and never missed a payment. The rent has been raised many times. I rec'd a phone call the other day saying that I had missed a rent increase and my payment was short by $12. I submitted an extra $12 payment via my bank's billpay service and called to notify the company. I was told that despite being a good customer for more than two decades, it would initiate proceedings against me if the payment wasn't rec'd by a specific date. No exceptions. I DID NOT RECEIVE any notice of rent adjustment. Whether it was mailed, I have no idea. This company has zero respect or concern for its customers/tenants. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. If I could give them zero stars that would be too many steer clear of this disgusting atrocious business I found mouse droppings and was assured that an exterminator had been called my father was in the hospital for a few months and I was unable to move my items out quickly and as Long story short everything we owned was destroyed by either rodents or water damage from either a leaking pipe or through the door to the outside that was next to a huge construction project mice were entering the unitAnd basically breeding within our unit they destroyed everything we owned my insurance had to cover thousands of dollars to replace what could be replaced many things were on irreplaceable or sentimental then they have the nerve to try to say that we still owed money because several of the items that wouldn't fit into the truck that were completely destroyed by mice had to be left per the management needing to lock the gate a complete and utter disaster that destroyed our life stay away from here do you yourself a favor go up the block this place is a disaster I reported them to the health department and now I have pending litigation they are a disgusting company calls went on answered I was hung up on by supposedly the district manager you can never get a straight answer from anyone and all they care about is the charges and money not if your things are safe they could care less what happens to your stuff while it is stored there take it from me don't waste your time they have a horrible rodent problem that is still not dealt with and you will end up with a pile of garbage in the end!! We paid movers that were so disgusted they refused to empty the unit for fear of health issues They wouldn't let any of the insurance adjusters even the one representing the company they sell insurance through on the property to even inspect the unit and then when the adjuster was smart and acted like he wanted to rent a unit was able to photograph droppings alll throughout the hallways outside our unit that were there for months !! Avoid at all costs! My auto payment didn't go through a few months ago. There is a very simple solution to this--just charge my card again a few days later. That's what I asked them to do when they called, but for some reason they can not do this very simple thing. I have to fill out another form to authorize this. They won't take my authorization over the phone. Also, they don't have a system to do this online. They have to email you the form and then you have to print it out, scan it, take pictures of your credit card, and ID, etc. etc. If you don't feel comfortable doing all this, and/or don't have a printer, too bad. I have to go there even though the office is only open during the hours I'm at work, and now I can't go there at all due to covid, which isn't their fault, but they still won't charge my current card they have on file. On top of this, every month I am racking up exorbitant late fees, like double what my monthly payment is. Terrible! I just want to get my stuff out and never go back, but it's being held hostage until I pay a huge ransom that there doesn't seem to be anyway to pay since they won't just charge my card read more

The storage itself sucks & they charge entirely too much. The ONLY good thing about that storage place is Ricardo. He is amazing!! I've never had such wonderful customer service ANYWHERE. He absolutely is the only reason we still have our stuff there.. We are trying to find a cheaper place with better hours, & if & when we do, we'll miss Ricardo, because it's extremely RARE to find employees like him. People just aren't courteous anymore, & if you're in a customer service position for God's sake act like you give a damn...P.S. Like many corporations in America today, there was a time when this company was well run and very concerned with customer service. When Joyce was the manager 9 yrs ago, I felt I was with a real caring company. I had two lockers there for many years. However, the ole "churn em an burn em" has become the new business model. You'll get your stuff in there at a good rate and they'll just start increasing it knowing what a hassle it will be for you to move it. You'll be bled, and this is made even easier if you sign up for their auto pay. When I asked what new customers pay for the same 4ft by 5 ft locker I'm paying $138 a month for I was told they would only be paying $84, and that's part of some promotion. I suggested I move out and move back in but they don't allow that. I suggested a negotiated price but they wouldn't budge. Find a place that won't use you with accelerating escalations. I did and moved this weekend. The only saving grace we have for this type of corporate greed is yelp. The employees at the counter are nice people. They've just been rendered powerless. I was told you can only email the corporate decision makers...no phone calls. Maybe they are up for sale? Maybe this is a way to juice the books? I really don't know the motive, but I bet it's a good guess. The last smack in the face after I moved and paid them off? I simply requested they mail me a receipt so I'll know they are done fleecing me. They said "that will cost you a dollar". read more

If I could give this business a ZERO star rating, I would... I booked a U-Haul online and showed up at the time that I had reserved as a pick-up time online. I also used the "Express Check-In" feature that U-Haul had sent me to make my pick up easier. When I arrived at my pick-up time, there was no one in the office. I waited 20 minutes and no one ever showed up so I went to lunch. Came back and my wife waited for 15 minutes to get the keys only to be told that I had to come in and sign papers despite using the Express Check in form. I walked in and the agent had already started working with someone else which took another 15 minutes. When I brought the truck back, I was asked to sit down and would be helped in a few minutes while the agent was on the phone. It the 3-4 minutes of being on the phone, she must have forgotten that I had been sitting there waiting so she got off the phone and started helping the person that just walked in. At this point I'm beyond pissed and it took another 20 minutes for her to check out the guy who cut me in line. When she realized that she had taken on another customer rather than me who had been waiting, she acknowledged it and just kept doing what she was doing. All in all, I drove 10 miles, emptied a storage space, drove 10 miles back and unpacked it and I swear it took less of my day than it took me to get the truck and return the truck. I have been a customer of theirs for 10 years but a recent change in management has made this a terrible facility. Do not store here. They refuse to provide accounting information and they return checks so the you will incur late fees and then when you pay what their voice says - more late fees. They have the time to make harassing phone calls constantly over $9 late fee but not the time to manage their facility. I wonder if they subcontracted to an overzealous collection agency because there's no way they can call this many times over a late fee they generated either by intent or incompetence. Thoroughly, absolutely, utterly fed up. Oh - and they also raise the prices. My monthly unit cost has DOUBLED since I started storing there. We have had a storage unit at EZ Storage for many years. The staff is always very nice and the facility is safe and clean.

Came here with my husband to get a storage unit, and we had a pleasant experience. We were greeted immediately by Blanca. I let her know we needed a unit but we're unsure of the size, she said it wasn't a problem and could show us an 8'x10" and go bigger or smaller from there. If you can't walk I don't suggest this place for you. There's elevators and multiple gates to enter so you're closer to your unit, but there is walking involved down the hallways. Good exercise! .. once we found the perfect size for us Blanca got the contract ready and gave us all the information needed. We added the insurance and purchased a lock from her as well. I've had units before and the price here was pretty good and for the first two months it's half off! Once everything was signed she offered to make the journey back to our unit to change the locks for us so we could just sit and relax. She was super sweet, straightforward, and very personable. I definitely recommend this storage facility. read more

Been there for several years. On site staff has always been great but also powerless with larger issues. Low rate to start. $10 rent increase every year. Does not open until 10 am. Closes at 7 pm but they force you to leave by 6:30/6:45. Staff is usually just great but onsite manager is terrible. Completely unconcerned with customer service and not trained well in management. Most importantly, they have gased the place for termites with no ventilation. Have exposed all their customers to toxic chemicals with no regard for the complaints of burning, sneezing and headaches that followed the termite treatment and continue. I have notified them many times with a a reasonable solution but am told they will offer nothing in response to health repercussions this has caused. Terrible management. Complete denial that there IS a problem with a toxic chemical in their facility and no ventilation. I will have to now incur great expense to move and have instead asked to move to an area where there is ventilation for the same rate. They are unaccountable for their actions and instead choose to pretend there is no issue. The manager is ineffective and repeats the same phrase over and over again, refusing to connect me to her supervisor or create solution on her own. Terrible customer service and management when faced with serious problem. read more

DO NOT FALL IN ON THE LOW RATES . YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR . When I moved in the man here was very nice but when I returned it was like a completely different place . I moved in and was there only 2 weeks . I came back into town and went to pay for the next month ahead . Also to get the key for the dolly to add more things. My space was ransacked and stuff was stolen . They were of NO HELP TO ME . I wanted to talk to a manager and they said I could not . They refused to give me the mgrs. number . I asked for the money I had just paid back and to put in my notice . So they got 2 weeks of likely more money out of the unit b/c I left it that day . Only 2 weeks into the month. They would not refund me for the month I paid ahead . They told me I had to email to get a refund and was told it happens at any storage space and to go file a police report . Then then they never answered my email I had to call again . They made out like bandits ! Shady characters around the day I moved in. I felt sick that night though was being paranoid and nuts with separation anxiety from my things .. lol ... NOPE . Now I know why ! The guy next to me told me many people had robberies . Ran into an old friend there who told me she had been there 3 months and people were living in there too . Cameras only on the outside of the building the police that was there the next day ( someone else had been stolen from I assume, as cop said the place was shady ) said cameras are so old you can't see anything, how convenient. I hate even having to go back but I have no choice , facility was closing for the night . No help or cooperation from the female employees there at the time at all . Cannot even talk to a supervisor or manager . Now I have paid for another month and robbed ! They refused to give e the money back for the month I paid in advance . Shady shady . Uncooperative and rude and not the way to conduct business . Greedy business owners . I think it must be an inside job . I was told to email . I emailed and heard nothing . I finally got a call back and the " supervisor " told me I could not be refunded and that is what the owners had told her . I asked she pass on to them that word gets out and it is not the way to conduct business. She called back and said she would refund the month I had paid for in advance . I am yet to receive the check she said I would . I called after 3 weeks and the man on the phone was pleasant and apologetic unlike the women there . Claimed the approval for the check was made and would check in on to ensure it would go out . We shall see . I would hope they would at the very least make good on this . Incredible . The older man there is very kind , the women not so much. The supervisor I know was just doing what she was told. But a horrible way to conduct business. read more

Really like using EZ-Storage at Marina Del Rey. Had a very good experience renting out the U-Haul truck. Our family have been using EZ Storage in Marina Del Rey for many years. Recently had to get more storage spaces (eventually had to get 3 storage) due to the death of both parents and having to move my parents' things out from their home so that I could move back home. The staff have been very helpful in getting the right size storage space. Had to frequently go to these storage spaces to place things and boxes and the office staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Then I finally needed to rent a U-Haul truck to move my furniture and things from my apartment to my parents' home. It was a weekend move. The office staff was very helpful and informed me that it would be best to try to reserve an U-Haul truck about a week in advance or earlier in that week. People mostly rent these trucks over the weekends and these trucks may not be available if one try to make a reservation within just one or two days before the move. When I was ready to make the reservation, the system to book the U-Haul truck was down. The office staff gave me the 800 number for the U-Haul truck reservation so that I could call in the reservation. I was able to make the reservation to rent a truck at EZ Storage, Marina Del Rey, along with a dolly and some moving blankets. On the day of the move, the truck was there (actually there were two trucks). (I have heard and read some horror stories of how when people had made reservation to rent out moving trucks at other facilities, sometime the trucks were not there or had to wait for hours) The U-Haul truck was clean and ready to go. The checking in and checking out the truck was seamless. It was a very good experience for using the U-Haul truck for the first time at the EZ Storage at Marina Del Rey. read more

NEVER use this storage facility. They won't let you park your moving truck on the premises while loading and unloading. The staff are rude and not accommodating. They harass you as you try to load your items in and out of the storage. And they have a list of unwritten rules that do not reside anywhere in the contract. Please, do yourself a favor and never use this facility. Your money will be better spent at U.S. Storage across the street. read more

I also would give this business a zero if I could. I would have moved out within weeks if I hadn't put so much time and money into moving in. The young staff are nice enough, but the hours are terrible--10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but they kick you out at 6:30 p.m. and are closed an hour mid-day for lunch. If you want access during the work week it's impossible. The lights in the halls are iffy and there are no lights in the units. The floor is so threadbare that it's down to splinters and anything with wheels or slides gets stuck. There is one trash can near the office and that's it. Culver City and surrounds have some lovely, new storage facilities with concrete floors, lots of lights including ones in each unit, and early and late hours. I accompanied a friend to her unit at 10:00 p.m. on a weeknight. Shop around and forget this one. read more
