Can't tell you to stay away from this place enough. Went in with a unit for $250, a year later went up to $350 and a year later we are now at $450. Called the manager because this was outrageous and he told me that's how they make money and it's a backwards business.. talked to me about how it's what their investors care about... all of which is totally irrelevant to me as a consumer. Went to start moving stuff out and there are SO many empty units.. more than I've ever seen. Excited to move out and be done with this nightmare of a place.. Edit: the manager of the actual location is fantastic. He's not setting the pricing.. it's the people above him that are jacking up the prices. Just signed on to lease a space with Jenica, Store Manager. The process online to complete the application before going to their office was easy. Then went in the office to finalize agreement with Jenica was easy as well. Jenica's customer service was/is excellent and was eager to help with any more questions/concerns I had. This review is for Jenica specifically (not the company itself) - Jenica provided great customer service for me on several occasions. The first, she informed me that I had forgotten something regarding my unit, and I appreciate her pointing that to my attention as my items would have been potentially jeopardized. Another time she helped me with a lock issue when I could not find my keys. Each interaction she was pleasant, kind, and helpful. My only complaint with Extra Space is that after only two months in, I was informed that my unit rate would increase by $100.00. I find this business practice misleading, unprofessional, and unfair. I do plan on moving my items to another storage space for this reason. I think it is dishonest and at that rate, I believe they will jack up the price again. Had I been a customer for at least six months and then you raise the rate, fine. But I chose this place based on the price and now I have to pay movers again to move my things. Terrible on the part of the company. However, Jenica's service was excellent and I give her five stars personally. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because this location did not have a kiosk . I arrived and the location was not yet open. When I went to my unit it did not properly close but as I was walking to the office the manager Jenica was already calling me and was quick to change my unit . She was very helpful and accommodating, even came to help us find carts and figure out that you have to wait a few seconds before you push the elevator button , we all learned something new !! read more

my friend had an unit in Menlo park ca, he is disabled also has congestive heart failure. so during this time there was a heatwave and my dad said he could die with this heat... my dad spent three days in a abusive hospital and owes the $15.000.00 dollar's. plus san Jose was having riot's , they broke in to his van and stole everything. the employee claimed her and my father were good friend's she work's two day's a week. the district manager doesn't want to replace anything or say sorry the cooperate office is doing the same. beware folks people are taking advantage of the elderly and ill.. god bless................ read more

I was a student looking for storage for the summer when I came across fliers advertising a discount introductory rate for All Aboard Mini Storage. I decided to go with it because I would be saving $25 over a competing storage facility. Do not be fooled by the discount. I'm giving All Aboard Mini Storage a low rating because I ultimately ended up losing a lot more money than the discount saved and because their customer service was extremely bad compared with the previous storage facility I went with. I was warned beforehand that I would have to give a 5-day notice before closing my storage space. At the end of summer, I sent an email to them, giving my notification. I received a personal confirmation from the manager that they had received my notification and that they appreciated doing business with me. Two months later, I find that they were still charging me and now at full price. When I contacted them about this mistake, they told me to refer back to the contract I had signed 5 months ago at section 7, where it stated that I would have to come in person to close my account. At no point before that did they contact me about coming in to shut down the account and I was led to believe that the account had closed. At no point did they apologise because they were afraid of liability if they did. Basically, there is an expectation for YOU to follow up on closing your account, otherwise it is in their best interest to just keep charging without your knowledge. I ended up wasting over $200 without my knowledge before I realised they were still charging me. I did not get a refund despite the fact that I had nothing stored in the space for over two months. I did not get an apology and instead was treated to a lecture about how I should always keep track of a contract during my summer vacation. Students should stay away. read more

This facility is very well kept - however, Your items are not safe here!!. If someone enters your unit, you will never know until you visit your unit and find out that your unit has been invaded. Felix and Renee knew someone entered my unit and did not make any effort to let me know. Yet they did put another lock on being mine was cut off...Um - maybe they could have made the attempt to call me before or after they put the lock on to let me know...Should I be grateful that they put a lock back on after being invaded with no form of contact? Go figure- how safe is that... Common sense is free, especially when you live on the facility.. I moved my things a few days later. read more

After a comprehensive search of Bay Area, peninsula area storage facilities, I just opened a rental unit here at this location and the service was the best I've experienced at any business. Used the storage space since they were called something else, mostly for personal storage and later mostly for business storage. Something that was always curious to me was the rat poison placed in my storage unit and all the rat excrement. I never placed the poison in my unit! That aside when we decided to move in to a smaller unit and have it under our business name Felix was the one my partner communicated with to move to a smaller unit and we were out by the first of the month and into a smaller unit that was paid for. So, Felix helped us with a new contract and to make the switch. We thought. They I get charged $146 for the next month in the old unit. And after leaving several messages, Felix calls and leaves a message: "He talked to his manager and NO they cannot give a refund since we didn't give them notice... as per contract" Bad business, bad service, very disappointing. I can see past rat poop and poison, but I cannot see past crooks. read more

I'm surprised extra storage lets this lady work for them. We went to Extra Space Storage in Menlo Park today after reserving a storage unit for our son, who recently graduated. Felix, the manager, and his wife were extremely helpful and pleasant. They explained everything to us and were very professional. The storage unit we rented was clean and spacious. They answered all of our questions. Our son was shown how to get in and out of the facility and we were taken to his individual storage unit by golf cart so that we did not initially have to walk far. I have been with this storage place for many years now and have had to deal with unsavory management, which I felt highly reflected the sterile company ideal itself. Nearly every place has security cameras and the like but it's the service that makes the difference. However now that the Moyas are managing it everything has changed. These two have brought back the old time know your customers, treat them with respect and always be there if they need you. All Aboard is SO lucky to have them. I was ready to move and plan on staying now. I hope All Aboard appreciates who they have because the Moyas have put me at peace and bent over backwards to help.
