Ray was amazing! After a comprehensive search of Bay Area, peninsula area storage facilities, I just opened a rental unit here at this location and the service was the best I've experienced at any business. I feel confident that my things will be safe here, especially due to the on-site, live-in manager. They are having a great move-in deal and I received half off the first month's rent. Ray is the manager on duty currently. He's normally the manager at the Redwood City location, but is here while the new manager of Menlo Park gets settled in. Thanks for storing my stuff! read more

Can't tell you to stay away from this place enough. Went in with a unit for $250, a year later went up to $350 and a year later we are now at $450. Called the manager because this was outrageous and he told me that's how they make money and it's a backwards business.. talked to me about how it's what their investors care about... all of which is totally irrelevant to me as a consumer. Went to start moving stuff out and there are SO many empty units.. more than I've ever seen. Excited to move out and be done with this nightmare of a place.. Edit: the manager of the actual location is fantastic. He's not setting the pricing.. it's the people above him that are jacking up the prices. I haven't been disappointed in my experience with him- in fact I don't know how they keep him working there cuz I'm sure he has to deal with unhappy people all the time takes to the price hikes read more

Just signed on to lease a space with Jenica, Store Manager. The process online to complete the application before going to their office was easy. Then went in the office to finalize agreement with Jenica was easy as well. Jenica's customer service was/is excellent and was eager to help with any more questions/concerns I had. Please look into this facilitator for your storage needs. read more

This review is for Jenica specifically (not the company itself) - Jenica provided great customer service for me on several occasions. The first, she informed me that I had forgotten something regarding my unit, and I appreciate her pointing that to my attention as my items would have been potentially jeopardized. Another time she helped me with a lock issue when I could not find my keys. Each interaction she was pleasant, kind, and helpful. My only complaint with Extra Space is that after only two months in, I was informed that my unit rate would increase by $100.00. I find this business practice misleading, unprofessional, and unfair. I do plan on moving my items to another storage space for this reason. I think it is dishonest and at that rate, I believe they will jack up the price again. Had I been a customer for at least six months and then you raise the rate, fine. But I chose this place based on the price and now I have to pay movers again to move my things. Terrible on the part of the company. However, Jenica's service was excellent and I give her five stars personally. The only reason this review gets four is because of the dishonest pricing. read more

The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because this location did not have a kiosk . I arrived and the location was not yet open. When I went to my unit it did not properly close but as I was walking to the office the manager Jenica was already calling me and was quick to change my unit . She was very helpful and accommodating, even came to help us find carts and figure out that you have to wait a few seconds before you push the elevator button , we all learned something new !! read more

They communicated with me prior to my arrival so I knew when to come by the office. The staff was very helpful, polite and professional.

Seems like a decent place, but I had some friends get their unit broken into so I can't recommend this place anymore.

Kelsie at Extra Space Storage in Menlo Park was very helpful in showing us available spaces, making recommendations and helping us find the best rate. Highly recommend. read more

Rommel (Rom) was extremely helpful. This is my first time renting at this facility and he walked me through all my questions, like how to get in and out, which elevator to take, parking, how to cancel when I no longer need the space, etc. I would highly recommend. read more

I went to the Extra Storage at 1520 Willow in Menlo Park, and had the very best experience renting a unit. Kelsie enlightening me with her professional and lively spirit, making me to feel at ease about my belongings being safe there. She is very compassionate and has an amazing system she uses that keeps her on track of things. Great experience getting set up with a unit here. Russell was super friendly and professional, answered all of my questions, and had me set up/leased in no time. Good specials on the units (at the time I booked) and nice, clean, secure location. Would recommend! read more

I was a student looking for storage for the summer when I came across fliers advertising a discount introductory rate for All Aboard Mini Storage. I decided to go with it because I would be saving $25 over a competing storage facility. Do not be fooled by the discount. I'm giving All Aboard Mini Storage a low rating because I ultimately ended up losing a lot more money than the discount saved and because their customer service was extremely bad compared with the previous storage facility I went with. I was warned beforehand that I would have to give a 5-day notice before closing my storage space. At the end of summer, I sent an email to them, giving my notification. I received a personal confirmation from the manager that they had received my notification and that they appreciated doing business with me. Two months later, I find that they were still charging me and now at full price. When I contacted them about this mistake, they told me to refer back to the contract I had signed 5 months ago at section 7, where it stated that I would have to come in person to close my account. At no point before that did they contact me about coming in to shut down the account and I was led to believe that the account had closed. At no point did they apologise because they were afraid of liability if they did. Basically, there is an expectation for YOU to follow up on closing your account, otherwise it is in their best interest to just keep charging without your knowledge. I ended up wasting over $200 without my knowledge before I realised they were still charging me. I did not get a refund despite the fact that I had nothing stored in the space for over two months. I did not get an apology and instead was treated to a lecture about how I should always keep track of a contract during my summer vacation. Students should stay away. read more

my friend had an unit in Menlo park ca, he is disabled also has congestive heart failure. so during this time there was a heatwave and my dad said he could die with this heat... my dad spent three days in a abusive hospital and owes the $15.000.00 dollar's. plus san Jose was having riot's , they broke in to his van and stole everything. the employee claimed her and my father were good friend's she work's two day's a week. the district manager doesn't want to replace anything or say sorry the cooperate office is doing the same. beware folks people are taking advantage of the elderly and ill.. god bless................ read more

This facility is very well kept - however, Your items are not safe here!!. If someone enters your unit, you will never know until you visit your unit and find out that your unit has been invaded. Felix and Renee knew someone entered my unit and did not make any effort to let me know. Yet they did put another lock on being mine was cut off...Um - maybe they could have made the attempt to call me before or after they put the lock on to let me know...Should I be grateful that they put a lock back on after being invaded with no form of contact? Go figure- how safe is that... Common sense is free, especially when you live on the facility.. I moved my things a few days later. read more

Really easy time with them, he went through all the details so I knew everything before hand - I really appreciate that kind of service!

I had an excellent experience. The space was clean and convenient. The service from the office was very professional. They returned my call when they said they would and kept my reservation when a previous tenant hadn't moved out all of their belongings. I would definitely recommend this storage place. read more

Great service! Professional, helpful. Surprised at this level of service! Highly recommend.

Very nice and great customer service! There was no light inside my unit so the sales clerk has been following up with me in making sure it gets replaced... read more

Used the storage space since they were called something else, mostly for personal storage and later mostly for business storage. Something that was always curious to me was the rat poison placed in my storage unit and all the rat excrement. I never placed the poison in my unit! That aside when we decided to move in to a smaller unit and have it under our business name Felix was the one my partner communicated with to move to a smaller unit and we were out by the first of the month and into a smaller unit that was paid for. So, Felix helped us with a new contract and to make the switch. We thought. They I get charged $146 for the next month in the old unit. And after leaving several messages, Felix calls and leaves a message: "He talked to his manager and NO they cannot give a refund since we didn't give them notice... as per contract" Bad business, bad service, very disappointing. I can see past rat poop and poison, but I cannot see past crooks. read more

This is one of the worst storage facilities I've ever been to the wife of the manager is a very rude rude disrespectful unprofessional unbusinesslike person. I'm surprised extra storage lets this lady work for them. I have never been profiled in my life and this lady profiled my boyfriend and I which is unacceptable we are paying customers and the district manager doesn't really care. This lady will do this again to other people. People get storage units 4 reasons you should respect that person and be kind to the situation that they're going through that's not how it is at extra Space Storage you're judged and profiled and she's a very mean lady. I know other storage facilities taken into consideration what people are going through and why they even have to get a storage not this place I just don't recommend this place at all . All I needed was a storage unit for my things and all I've got is grief and its not fair in my life right now that I'm having to go through anything from this lady and speaking to the district manager nothing's going to get done about this lady this is how she is and its accepted by them. read more

Extra Space Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Menlo Park, California

My family kept our belongings here for over a year. We rested well knowing that things would be secured and protected. This specific location is very convieniently located next to the Dumbarton By a ridge and the bay most especially. Both Phelix and Sarah were very nice and helpful when we needed to access multiple units. Their professionalism always relieved the stress during our moving projects. I will recommend them when I know anyone else has moving needs such as my family did. The storage rates I feel exactly match the local economy of the Bay Area! read more

For a good storage space at an excellent rate, and with a great staff, this place's it. Always has been the best deal in town!

Felix and Renee Moya are the best. They helped my wife and I solve our storage problems in one visit. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE!!! The place is infested with rats and the staff will not do anything about it! We have spoken with staff and informed them of the situation and informed them of how much stuff was damaged. They will not reimburse or pay for professional cleaning. Beware!!! Do not use them unless you want your belongings ruined by rat droppings, urine and nesting in your furniture! Terrible customer service!! We used three different storage rooms and all three have had rat droppings!! read more

A great place for storage. Manager Felox Moya helped me with a kind, professional demeanor. He cares about his customers.

A great place to store your stuff. The facilities are nice, clean, and large. The rates are affordable and beat out many competitors. Felix, the manager, also gave me a free lock when I bought my storage unit! I highly recommend Extra Space Storage in Menlo Park. read more

Felix is a great help. Made the move as easy as one could expect. He made a lot of cost saving suggestions and instead of selling me bubble wrap he just gave me some that a previous renter had left. He could have made an extra buck, but he put customer service first. read more

Recently rented a storage unit from Felix at Extra Space Storage in Menlo Park. He and his wife are very friendly and professional. They keep the facility very clean which I appreciate. They called me to confirm our appointment time before arrival and when I arrived Felix drove me around the facility to show me all the available options for storage unit locations so that I felt comfortable with the distance from the gate. They also made a follow up call to make sure I was happy with the facility and my storage unit. I would highly recommend this facility. It is clean, convenient, and the rental prices are very competitive. read more

I had a horrible experience with this storage center. I worked with Felix to hold a few units for me and they accidentally let one of my units go and wouldn't honor the rate I locked in. The rental unit then increased by $100/month! I will never work with this facility again--horrible experience. I don't trust their people or their automatic reservation system. read more

We went to Extra Space Storage in Menlo Park today after reserving a storage unit for our son, who recently graduated. Felix, the manager, and his wife were extremely helpful and pleasant. They explained everything to us and were very professional. The storage unit we rented was clean and spacious. They answered all of our questions. Our son was shown how to get in and out of the facility and we were taken to his individual storage unit by golf cart so that we did not initially have to walk far. We felt that the facility was very secure and we were very happy with the service. Felix and his wife were terrific! read more
