Juan is very friendly, fast and efficient. I reserved storage at 9am this morning, Juan called me in less than 30 minutes asking to book an appointment. When I walked in he helped me very quickly and showed me all the paperwork highlighting things I need to know. He also gave me a temporary lock till I got my own. By 4.30pm my move was complete. Drive up units are also very convenient for loading and unloading. The only thing to remember with public storage $1 ads is that it's never gonna be $1! $24 one time fee, $11/mth (min) insurance, $7 damp absorber (since this facility is near a creek), $20 per lock (get your own from Walmart, I spent $5 for two locks)... Adds up quickly! Just be prepared for this. There are three public storage places in a row on the street so be mindful of that as well. Overall, great work Juan! read more

This is the closest storage unit to us. We've rented here for a couple of summers. This one charges due a lock even if you've purchased one. The unit is on th 2nd floor. Access is through a shaft no elevator in this building. read more

"STOP PLEASE DO NOT RENT HERE" I rented a space at this location 1961 E Bayshore Rd I moved out on the September the 19th and the stupid store manager vacated me on the date October the 2nd. They ended up sent me a bill for the whole month for the amount $320 And this how my nightmare begun with this unprofessional and miscommunication staff the works in this place that's why I am writing a bad review to tell and save people a headache what I went through with bad experience I had on this place. All started when I got the bill for $320 And then I called the store manager and of course she is never available and beside that she always parked her black Chevrolet cammarro infront my unit when I was getting my stuff out I had to brake my shelves because her car always parked infront my unit. Very inconvenient for customers. 2- I called to dispute my bill and they gave a number to call 1-866-247-6620. I called and explained my story the staff I spoke they were nice, but worthless because they told me they were going investigate my dispute and they will have an answer for me in the next 24/hrs. 3- That was on Friday I called to dispute my bill no one call me Monday Tuesday.! I was worried. 4- I called back on Wednesday morning to find out what is going on with my dispute since the 24/hrs window have past. I spoke with some again, and short story they told me the same thing over. And over again that my dispute is going to be process in 24/hrs I told her that the was the same thing the staff person told me on Friday the I called to dispute my bill. At this point I knew that they wanted to get their money $320 no matter who I spoke they all are liars and were telling a lot of bullshit.! So because I care about my credit I ended up paid $320 even though I shouldn't be paying this, but I wanted get over with this thieves. "So do you self a favor and ""DO NOT RENT WITH THIEVES" Thank you Public Storage for bad experience I had at this place. read more

Seriously stay away... The front exit gate is left open more often then I am comfortable with, I have tried contacting both the call and chat about this issue and neither seems to be or want to be helpful about it. I have been trying to move out for more than a week now and this place has made it very hard to do so. There website is unhelpful and no one seems to be available or resposible to assist. I have had to swallow another month of a rent and still have no idea were to go to resolve this issue. Moving out from them has become quite the nightmare, there doesn't seem to be a reasonable process to do so. The Elevator for a while had a broken light fixture that held onto by a thread, I was geniuenly scared it could cause a fire. Since that has been fixed but the Elevator did run for months before receiving a proper permit. for me the biggest issue was the Gate, I kind of expect it to remain close, but too often I'd see it remain open. I called a few times about it and never heard back from anyone. I am kind of dissapointed since they have been increasing my rent since I joined, only until recently did they start to make the place look a bit better. If you have security concerns and want peace of mind that your stuff will be safe... I would go look somewhere else. read more

My unit was broken into before 2 January 2021. The procedure for notifying me was inadequate. The initial telephone message did not indicate the purpose of the call. My numerous phone calls (both to the number left on my answering machine and to the number on the Web site) were not answered or returned. The postcard informing me that my unit was not secure arrived weeks later. Although the clerk acknowledged that other units had also been broken into, there was no evidence of interest in finding the vandals, of reviewing surveillance footage, or even of filing a police report. I have made other arrangements for housing my possessions. (For years, I had a warm relationship with the office workers of American Storage, which sold out to Public Storage.) read more

Excellent customer service. Thank you for your assistance Tatiana & Carlos.

Warning: do not use this storage facility! Extremely poor management by Laura. The facility is profoundly understaffed, mismanaged and unsecure If you need assistance no one is ever around to help. They close up shop at odd hours during the day. Sometimes the gate stops working before 9pm and there is no one to call to get let out. (I had to scale the fence and call a friend to pick me up) I have already been fed up with my poor experience here and on one of my last trips to clean out my locker had to give my drivers license to the manager, Laura, at the front desk to etc a key for the dolly (they used to be free access) and 20 minutes later returned to find the office locked up with my license inside. This was 2 in the afternoon In addition Prices are not transparent up front and there are fees and rent increases as time goes on. Doors are open to the facilities at night and because of the understaffing no one is monitoring the facilities read more

Public Storage took out the lifts that were previously available to move things up to the second floor and did not provide an elevator or reduce fees. They raise their rates on a fairly regularly basis--no doubt figuring that moving is such a hassle. read more

I have been here since 2013 and can't wait to get out. I'm on the second floor and they have decided to remove the lifts. How the heck am I suppose to get my stuff out when I'm Ready? I was told they will have someone come move me out at no cost to me. Here is the problem. You have to notify them 3wks in advance. I want to sell some of my items, like washer and dryer, but they have to stay there till I sell. How can I do that if I can't get them out when I need to without waiting three weeks. And the lady in the office is rude and asf... read more

This is actually a nice facility with easy access. The problem is the rate of outrageous rent increases. I haven't even had a unit a year and the rent has already increased more than 20%. Don't let the entry rate fool you. read more

My storage unit was broken into in April of 2021. Between the months of March and May there have been 12 other police filings reporting theft at the 1985 E Bayshore Rd Public Storage. I have written multiple emails to Public Storage and called over thirty times (during business hours) to try and obtain security footage from that night. My email was not responded to and my calls have not been answered (even when I left messages). When they initially notified me of the theft I asked them to take pictures of the unit so I could account for what was stolen. They said they could not go into the unit as they were using a landline and did not have the proper technology to take a picture. I sent multiple people over to Public Storage take pictures of my unit but there was no one in the office during business hours. I then went to go pick up my items once I was in the area and again no one was in the office during business hours. I had to drive to another Public Storage to get someone to assist me. When I arrived at my unit the lock had not been broken, but the latch that had been connected to the wall and door was ripped off. I would not recommend storing your items at Public Storage; they have been negligent in addressing repeated theft and have failed to carry out proper business practices. read more

Mariela & Laura were extremely helpful. I walked in and began asking them many questions. they answered all of my questions and provided great advice for the size of my unit and tips for packing. Thank you, Mariela and Laura!! read more

Great customer service. Laura is awesome and very knowledgeable. The storage unit is clean as can be and the gate access is great

Not the easiest place to get in and out of if you have a larger UHaul, and they don't have the amenities listed on the website, but the staff, especially Jennifer, are awesome and go well out of their way to be helpful. read more

I chose this location because it was cheaper than the other two locations it is sandwiched between. Save money by reserving a unit online. I saved about $50. Calling the phone number or going to the location is considered a walk in and the price is higher. The manager Juan is friendly, courteous, and efficient (fast). I would recommend using this place for storage needs. read more

We have 3 units at this location and couldn't be happier that we selected this location for our needs. Juan has given the best customer service that I have ever received in regards to working with our many vendors. He is always professional, attentive to our needs and follows through with what he says he will do! If you are looking for a safe, clean and customer appreciative and attentive place than I would suggest that you look no further! read more

Customer service is okay, but its ridiculous that they have no elevators and charge people more money for the first floor because it's easy to access. They should work on there pricing, as well as putting up a sign that they are not in the office, so people can know. read more

This location's prices were cheaper than its two neighbors, which is a plus. Also, the layout of the units are very straightforward with only 3 or 4 rows, making it easy to get in and get out. Finally, the staff is professional. However, (and I'm not sure if this is the fault of the office or the website), but online you can book a unit at the $1 offer price for up to two weeks after making the reservation. In reality, the office only upholds the offer for one week after the reservation is made. Also, I had a little bit of trouble getting in touch with the office. I didn't receive a call about my reservation until I had placed four calls and left two messages. I'm not sure if the facility is undermanned, but that was a little bit frustrating for a first experience with this location. read more

The lady at the front desk was really kind and helpful. Overall, I'm happy with my storage. It's on the second floor with no elevator access, which I was made aware of before, but the staircase is wide enough and not a long climb. Only things I'm upset about is the fact they don't prorate your move out (over the phone I was told them prorate but apparently that only applies to move in) so I have to pay a month's rent even though I'm moving out on the 3rd. Also, I was not expecting the heft fee for the lock and I was not aware that insurance was required so I left paying more than expected. Upon reserving online, it gives you a summary of your first payment and none of these things were included: all I was told way to bring my ID. However, still a great price and it would not have changed my mind about reserving with this place. read more

Jennifer at the front desk was extremely helpful and personable during my checkin today at public storage. One thing is that Public Storage itself should streamline the checkin process, if you have a full day of moving, allocate enough time (around 30 - 45 mins in the office). The rates are also very reasonable, the cheapest I found for my needs. I wish they were more transparent - you need to buy monthly insurance on top of the monthly rent. It ended up being $11 / a month for the cheapest option. read more

Great, easy check in! Laura was incredibly helpful in finding the correct size unit and materials I would need. Very professional location where I feel comfortable leaving my things. read more

It took 2.5 hours to get the unit, only for me to find out they charged my credit card 3 times. Now they're saying I need to go back in (I've already moved) so that they can issue a refund for the two repeat charges. They are wholly incompetent. Not worth the $1 first month for this headache. Left the district manager a voicemail last week and never received a response. read more
