Honestly, it got worse from there. The two movers were very slow and you pay by the hour. I started loading and unloading stuff myself. I even unwrapped and moved furniture myself (ending up cracking my Apple Watch screen in the process). They movers left behind a ton of stuff at my old place. It has taken me at least 15 trips in my Honda Civic to get it all. They took my desk but left behind my desk chair, so I had to beast that myself. They left behind my big, heavy bike rack and I had to move it in my car, cracking the center console in the process (the car is brand new). I've called multiple times to try and get some money back but I paid in cash. They got my money so I'm SOL. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Very shady practices, too. They are definitely not insured. I feel so bad for the guy who ended up in the ER. He will definitely be covering that himself (the other movers confirmed this). They didn't have me sign any paperwork beforehand. They didn't check the time or anything. Just a Docusign at the end. They should call themselves D- Movers. It's way more accurate. I move often and this is by far the worst moving experience of my life.

So I will use these different words: the air very close to that driver smelled like weed. Also we got charged 2x what was in the estimate quote and they make a tip mandatory even after they charged double and left scrapes in the hallway of our rental including the common stairwell. The property manager charged us for that and we still had to pay for some of the damage. Very bad and very sneaky too. Definitely 1 star!

I would give 5 stars except that one of the movers had never moved a piano before and there was a bit of a bumpy learning curve. My piano almost got dropped at one point. They pulled it off and got it in the house in one piece, though, and I know that guy will learn fast so I would still definitely use them again in the future.

My search led me to Movin on Up Movers and I'm so so grateful. The guys were phenomenal! They were super kind and patient toward my parents who had offered to help us coordinate the move.
