Great service, good facility and prices. If you have to do it, great place for storage in Durham!

I received estimates from Chapel Hill Moving Company for packing in two stages. The packers arrived on time and were polite and friendly. They were at my home for three hours. The final charge for the initial packing (including materials) was extremely high. When I spoke with Ethan, the owner of the company, he was condescending and rude to me. It became evident to me that while the company provides estimates, the actual charges at the end of the job are at or beyond the high end. Interestingly, there are other reviews that also mention the high cost of Chapel Hill Moving Company. I will be using a different company for the second packing stage and for moving, while hoping that the packing was done professionally and carefully. I recommend that others use a different packing and moving company that is reliable, professional, and (as importantly) cost-effective. Moving is too expensive to overpay when the company knows it can get away with it.

Chapel Hill Moving Company was on schedule, careful with our belongings, and cooperative with our needs; and everything made it to our new home in good condition, in spite of the challenges created by a rainstorm that day. The price was reasonable. I strongly recommend Chapel Hill Moving Company: you can't do better.

We hired All Sides to move us from NC to WY in Oct 2020. It was a big move, but their estimate was…read morelow enough (1 truck - approx $5000 on the high end) where we decided to hire them to do full service instead of just loading and we drive the trucks (not a day goes by that I don't wish to God I could go back and change that decision). I liked the guys we were working with at first, and I am an overly amicable person (to a fault in this case). I bought the crew dinner and lunch during load up's. But it went downhill. I'm going to boil down a long complicated story down to the major points: After 2 complete walkthroughs of our house and garage they insisted everything would fit on one truck, but ended up having to get two trucks. This in part made them leave nearly a day after they were supposed to. My family and I were in TN before we found out they were still at my old house (which we didn't even own at that point) loading things up, and told me they couldn't fit my riding lawn mower, so I had to leave it behind for the new homeowners. Next, we were in Missouri by the time they called me to give me the actual price of the move. DOUBLE of what they had estimated - $10,000 with the promise of "maybe getting it lower." We pull into our new town in Wyoming on the agreed upon date but they're running late so we spent the night in a hotel with the understanding they would be there the next day (Friday). Despite multiple updates saying they were only hours away, they did not arrive until LATE Saturday night (contract said Thursday). They took the entire day on Sunday to unload 2 trucks and had crew that slept in at the hotel which I had to shuttle to my house later in the day. They lost hardware for my kid's bunk bed, permanently damaged our leather couch, broke my computer desk, lost parts to a clock (??), damaged our entertainment center, damaged a computer chair, and scuffed our bed and night stands. THE REAL PROBLEM: At the end they "got the price down" to $8300 ($3300 more that the high end of their estimate), cost us hundreds in additional hotel stays, damaged close to $3,000 in furniture, and made our adventure out west to be stressful as hell. We planned on letting this all go - we paid the final bill, tipped enough for the crew to have pizza in town, all with the understanding that the full insurance we paid for would help recoup the costs.... NOPE to date they never filed the insurance claim and never reimbursed us for the hotels. I hate myself for hiring them.

After multiple calls, I learned they had scheduled me for the next day. They promised me that they would get me moved by the end of the day. After confirming a time they would show up FIVE times, they still DID NOT show up. The owner called and told me that they couldn't me move me on the Saturday but would have someone there by 9am the next day. After this call, the dispatcher called to tell me that someone could come out that night or in the morning. I let her know that Cameron had said it needed to be the next morning. Sunday morning no one showed up at 9. No one showed up at 10 (when I was supposedly scheduled for). No one picked up the phone at their national or local number. Finally around noon I called the dispatcher who told me that they couldn't come out because of the rain, but as long as the rain stopped they would move me same day. She told me that she would call me no longer than 1. At 1:30, I called and got her voicemail. At this point, I have called over and over again trying to get them to honor their word. They have not called me twice to tell me what was going. Both times they did not follow through nor did they do anything they told me that would do. After trying 3 different numbers (national, local, owner), I called the guy who scheduled me. Clearly upset, I asked if anyone was coming out. I was told that there was "No reason to be hostile". The dates got messed up which was human error and they can't move in the rain. When I told him that no one had contacted me about any of the issues he told me that they had apologized and could get me moved Monday morning. They had sent their men home due to the rain and would have to scramble to try and get anyone to come out. Mind you it had stopped raining 2 hours earlier and it was sunny outside. In summary: Clearly do not care about their customers. They do not follow up or follow through. Save your time, money, and sanity and rent a UHaul truck and pay a couple of guys to help you.

I just really want to say how thankful we are with Kell and Angel for the great job they did for us…read moreon Saturday out of the Durham location ! I couldn't ever get the QR code to work but hope this finds it to their management team. My mother has moved out of state to be with more extended family for a better support system. My father passed away unexpectedly and suddenly in 2017 and as most can imagine, we really never recovered. It also caused everyone to procrastinate going into his shed where he had a workshop that he did excellent woodworking pieces, stocked his shop in fuquay with these items, and learned tricks of the trade from his father. This was email was his happy place. There was also a lawn shed and my mom's shed on site. - All were kept up nice from outside but 1000% full of my dads tool, pool accessories, lawn equipment to odds and ends for storage!! After my mom moved out of state, a little in a quick manor, especially when it was to hard to kind of open Pandora's box of mixed emotions... the sheds stayed closed for others to handle on her behalf once she was gone. Fast forward several months after she left ( I think many can relate) it was starting to affect the sell of the house. I reached out to this company, received the quickest response and truly picked my day and time. Communicating. Expecting to just get a quote and hear something in a few days, Kell said oh no, if you are good with quote, we can come back if you prefer or we can get started now. Both Kell and angel were kind, respectful of the situation, and moved fast and methodical. They gave so many options for payment to make sure it was as stress free for my mom who is out of state as possible. We knew it was going to be a lot, but they didn't even show the slightest bit of annoyance for the mess. They answered any questions right away, carried everything with care and nothing was thrown away. Knowing that these items would get a chance to be sold or giving or used by others that my dad worked so hard for and not just wasted and rot in a landfill made me smile knowing my dad would be so pleased. Kell said we just need 1.5-2 hours max. At 2 hours and 10 minutes, this huge truck was busting at the seams!! Like i said, 2 sheds were empty, the 3rd had probably about a little less than 1/2 of the super bulky and heavy items. What was left is super easy for us to finish up and feels doable. I can't say enough about how hard these two worked, their professionalism, quickness and efficiency! We would be pleased to be able to use them again! TOP NOTCH FELLAS!! Crystal Kidd

Huge shoutout to Rachel, who made the quoting process incredibly easy and flexible. My inventory changed a few times (moving vs. donating items), and she kept everything accurate and updated without any hassle. Even better--they offered the best price I found and actually stuck to it. No surprise fees, no last-minute add-ons--just honest, upfront pricing. And the real MVPs--James and Tynez. These guys were phenomenal. Super professional, genuinely kind, and insanely efficient. They handled everything from disassembly to transport to reassembly with care and precision, and they moved FAST without cutting corners. They truly exceeded my expectations in every way. I hate moving with a passion, but this was easily the best moving experience I've ever had. Hopefully I don't have to move again anytime soon--but when I do, I already know who I'm calling. 0 stars -- would give zero if the platform allowed…read more On April 16, 2026, Capital Movers and Storage moved us to Wake Forest, NC. During the move, multiple crew members disappeared for periods exceeding one hour without explanation. One mover took particular notice of my wife's jewelry, watching closely as she handled it that morning. Her jewelry -- including pieces of deep family significance passed down through generations -- was secured in our locked vehicle with no signs of forced entry and driven directly to our new home. At the destination, the same mover who had observed the jewelry that morning offered multiple times to carry the specific bag containing it into the house. My wife placed the bag in our bedroom closet. At some point during the remainder of the move, we were outside the home. The following morning the jewelry was gone. When we reported this to CEO William Saunders, he stated -- verbatim -- "we have never had anything like this happen and this could ruin us." He requested we not contact police for 24 hours, stating he wanted to speak with his crew first, and indicated he had a good idea who may have been responsible based on issues that person had "when he was young." We honored his request. The items were not returned. My wife spoke with Mr. Saunders separately and independently, and his statements to her were consistent with what he told me. Mr. Saunders later disputed making those earlier statements. A police report has been filed. The investigation is active.
