Had a storage unit for 4 months, though it was supposed to be climate controlled it was extremely hot and humid quite often, the lighting system inside the units were non-existent. There was termite dust everywhere coming from the rafters. All over all of my storage boxes with live termites evident everywhere. Upon advising the staff of the termites (live and dead) and termite dust upon deciding to go elsewhere I was told well I'm not an exterminator so we cannot say that's the case. I've had a unit here for over 10 years, started before it was extra space, when it was still smart stop. Smart stop was great! But ever since the takeover it has gone downhill, and the cost has gone up about 150% of my original rate. I've reported my corridor door doesn't close automatically like it should, like the door is bent and no one makes sure it closes behind them. I had to chase an iguana out once. I went by today, and now it appears you can just leave disabled vehicles and trailers wherever you want. Time to find something else. read more

Stay away. Outdoor units are infested with roaches and rats. We rented an outdoor unit at this location over a year ago and set up on auto withdrawal. In February they claimed they sent a post card with rate increase although I do not recall receiving anything. Yes, I will admit it was wrong on my part not to notice the difference in automatic withdrawal amount. Two months ago, I realized it had gone up another $200. I have emailed and called the facility. The location manager said they send a post card with rate increase and if they don't hear back from customer it's an automatic agreement. We said no problem, we will call corporate. His response was good luck with that. All they will do is keep forwarding you around. read more

WARNING!! You're better off leaving your stuff outside. They have a pest problem, tore right through the boxes and furniture. The staff and manager are an inconvenience, the bathrooms are worse than a 24 hour bar and that goes for most of their units, the list goes on. There's a homeless Society that lingers around. And if you're there after 10:00pm you're STUCK. And that goes for all of extra space storage in Florida. WARNING!! read more

RUN AWAY! DISHONEST AND UNPROFESSIONAL!! Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had with a storage facility! Nina is the WORST!! She lies and never calls back and is lazy! Made a reservation weeks in advance to make sure our move in went smooth! Called 3 times the day before check in and Nina said she was busy, or in the back, etc and would call back but she never did! Now upon arrival, after an 18 hour drive from Texas, our reservation is not complete and my husband cannot unload the Budget truck into our unit. Taking our business to Public Storage up the road where they are honest, CHEAPER(saved $30 a month), and we have never had any issues like these. I cant imagine if the customer service is this bad to just get into the unit, how awful it would be if it flooded and an insurance claim needed to be made. Nina was short on the calls before as well making it feel like she caters to Spanish speakers so if you arent Latin/Hispanic, go somewhere else or you will be treated poorly!! read more

This place is an absolute joke. I signed a lease thinking it was a climate controlled unit. When I went to visit it, it was winter so it was cool out but it still didn't feel climate controlled. I asked the guy who was helping me and he assured me it was, multiple times. I've only been back a couple times since I first leased it and today, it was sweltering in there. I went to the office and they told me it was NOT a climate controlled unit. Then told me the man who helped me was no longer with the company. I have cleaning products, cosmetics, and a couch with wrapping all around it that is sticky and gross to the touch. All of that is going to have to go. After reaching out to management, I got a call from district higher-ups who told me they're going to refund me half of last month's payment. That's it. After I've paid a stupid amount of money for almost a year and a half for a disgusting DUMP of a unit. Not to mention they've more than doubled the rent since I first signed. There are plenty of options in the area. Please run far from this place. read more

I recently had to move away for a few months so I started looking around for Storage places. they had the best service and prices compared to all the other places I saw. They made it really easy to rent the place. the units were very clean. Great service and security. The manager Carlos was always available if I had any questions. very honest and helpful they handle all my stuff as if it was theirs. 10/10 I would recommend it! read more

I am leaving this review to let people know this was a pleasant experience storage is not on the top of my list when it comes to writing reviews or using my time for purposes that are not advantageous to myself. But, the staff at this extra space location( darrel and stuart) asked me to help them! Good guys, easy to talk with and understand, I closed my mothers storage unit after we relocated her. These huys knew and seemed to understand what we are going through. Darryl treated my mother with compassion and integrity. She made me it a point to stop and speak with him before we left. The trust and repore built was impressive since my mother tends to not like many! In closing, price was fair but the service and sense of ownership and true feeling of community will make me and mother customers for life. Thank you extra space, if it wasnt for your staff this would of been unremarkable task in this journey we call life. read more
