They went out of business - too bad, I used them in the past and they provided a great service.

The 23-acre city park was named for Mainlands, a 55 and up community consisting of 529 homes that was established in 1968. The park is in the section 3 and 4 subdivision. The land for the park was once part of the Monterey Golf Club. The main draw to the park is for people looking to exercise. Walking and jogging trails run along the perimeter and there are fitness stations at different intervals. There is also a covered outdoor gym with fitness equipment. Other park amenities include a restroom, non motorized boat launch, fishing pier/observation platform, covered picnic tables, drinking fountains, and public art benches. My favorite park was the discovery of burrowing owls. Burrowing owls are considered endangered, threatened or of special concern in nine U.S. states. Unlike other owls they are not strictly nocturnal and are active during the day. They make their nests in underground burrows, which are dug out by ground squirrels and they prefer open grasslands. Burrowing owls are protected by the federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act so you have to leave them alone. It was a treat to see so many owls in the park before leaving them in peace.

Something that needs to be taken into consideration, however, is that it's in the middle of a 55+ community, so it's not like other public parks. That being said, it does have some nice features, especially for our older population. It's a 23 acre park, making it a nice size without being too large to walk around easily. There is also wifi access. It is dog friendly, but they must be leashed. You can circumnavigate the park either on foot or by bike, using the wide, concrete path that is big enough for two bikes side by side. It's sprinkled with covered picnic tables, covered benches and water fountains. There is an exercise route that can be followed. Some of the stops have just one piece of equipment, while others have more. Each one is carefully labeled as to how to safely use the equipment. This a a nice change from having equipment and not telling people how to use it correctly. There is also a special workout station for wheelchair users! At one end of the loop, which seems to be about a mile in length, there is a small fishing "pier", giving access to the canal. In the center of the park is a nice little pond for scenic appeal. Personally, I think they should add a couple of nice pavilions with electricity and BBQ grills for bigger groups. There's plenty of room. Also the picnic tables have such a small cover that if it really rains, (Go Florida!), there is better access to places to stay dry. I know that some of us in the "seniors" age range can't scamper fast enough it we get a sudden cloudburst. My other observation is that it would be nice to have a small playground for residents who have grandchildren visiting. Overall, this is a well designed little park and an asset to the community.

The Express Airport Inn, with a reservation through Global Airport Parking, was the most convenient and economical place for us to park our car for our recent 20-day vacation, flying out of the RIC airport. Pros: *As with all Global Airport Parking reservations, long-term parking at the motel does NOT require a hotel stay. *This hotel was by far the least expensive option for parking near the airport. Our total cost was $90.95, including taxes and fess. This does NOT include transportation to the airport. (see below). *Check-in was easy, and the woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. *Parking was plentiful in an outdoor lot. *We found our car in the same condition as we had left it. Cons: *We selected a hotel that does not offer a shuttle to the airport so you need to call a ride-sharing service or taxi (which increases the cost and adds some uncertainty about the time required to get over to the airport). We took Uber TO the airport at a cost of $15.44, including tip, and it took about 15 minutes for the Uber to come. Upon our return, we took a taxi (after a red eye flight and temperatures near freezing). The driver informed us that all trips within four miles are a flat fee of $18 (plus tip). Even with the added uber and taxi fees, this was still the lowest-priced option. It worked out to about $6.32 per day. *Most of the parking spaces were uncovered. We returned to a car that was snow-covered. *It's not clear whether security monitors the lot. We would park here again, through Global Airport Parking.

Ended having to park at the airport for 25 dollars per day for a total of 225.00 as opposed to the 102.00n I had reserved.. All they could do was apologize but would not cover the additional 123.00 I ended up paying.

The parking lot is spacious but metered; the fees are minimal from what I recall. The beach is long and wide; it's also pretty clean everytime I visit. I've even done a yoga class there; it is pretty and serene. Since it's a touristy spot, it can be busy, especially during peak hours and when there are events going on. There are sidewalks along the road adjacent to the beach. It's a very walkable and pedestrian friendly area. The amenities are plentiful. There is a basketball court, boat ramp, grills, outdoor showers, picnic tables, playground, restrooms, and volleyball court. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, and hotels nearby. When I have friends and family from out of town visit, this is one of the places I bring them. There are palm trees on the beach; definitely a good spot to lay out a beach towel underneath the shade. Overall, a great place and it's definitely worth a visit, from a local and tourist standpoint!
