Thank you to the kind person working at the front desk who was so helpful and patient with handling a storage unit transfer. Have you ever tried to transfer a storage unit? I have before in the past, and it was not easy! Due to privacy and safety concerns, quite a number of (usually in-person) hoop jumping is required to change the owner of a storage unit. This helpful person wore a mask and socially distanced. At first, I couldn't find the contract they had emailed; they were so chill and patient about this. In the end, everything was changed over smoothly and without hassle. Unlike my CubeSmart storage unit in Lake Worth, where the office is in a completely separate building a driving distance away from the actual storage units, this office was housed right within a large building containing indoor storage units. A handful of parking spaces are squeezed in before the gate, with the office accessible from this parking lot. I love that I don't have to drive into the gate here! After renting storage spaces at Extra Space storage for over 20 years we discovered there is no such thing as "a helping hand". We asked the manager Joe Torchio, to allow our 16 ft. rental truck to stay in the enclosed storage area - anywhere - overnight. We were moving and closing out our 2 storage units and were indeed asking for a small favor. Remember now that we had been paying out for one or two units monthly for approximately 20 years. A flippant NO. If you are looking for someplace to store your treasures, we strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Quite honestly we simply cannot get over the unequivocal NO. So much for "thank you so much for doing business with us for all these years, we are sorry to see you go. And sure overnight for the truck is no problem". Yeah, right! read more

The absolute WORST experience ever!!! I would give a "Negative ZERO Star" if I could, it would certainly warrant it from my experience over two years of loyal service. In short, I moved my things here in two (2) lockers from my expensive apartment close to NSU campus because I could no longer afford a 1-bedroom in Davie. I signed a contract to the monthly fee's back in 2020. This company raised its monthly rental three (3) times during COVID and recently during the recession (have the statements). Sent "Detailed" statements in the mail of the increased fees with NO contracts to resign and NO preparing your budget to meet the new price. I wrote to them while a struggling now graduate student at NSU, of my unemployment in early October (have the letters), and informed that I was behind but would catch up as soon as I got employment. I just knew under current national circumstances and a nearly two (2) customer they would understand. Never responded to this email (I have a copy!). Well, their greed showed me why they ignored my letter and proper communication to them. At the end of the November, I sent another email, after getting employed as a teacher, of how I would catch my 2-month's payments up. I get a response stating my lockers went to auction that morning!!! Of course, being livid I had to ask for clarity if they were referring to both of my lockers, had been sold to auction. Very coldly, i received a regretfully, my materials went to auction. There was no regret what-so-ever. No one from this company sent me a letter stating this or called and left this kind of acts performed whether before or after!!! From work inside an ER I see and hear a lot of things, but this was beyond belief that a company would do this to an American citizen?!?! Just like they took the time to send me a nice "DETAILED CARD OF THEIR FEES INCREASING THREE (3)X and the EFFECTIVE DATE for that", they could have done the EXACT SAME at letting me know they were getting ready to sell my grandfather's, the minister's and Bishops bible, heirlooms from our great grandmother, My nursing school supplies that are needed for further testing and masters level nursing soon, + all my gits from graduating from the toughest BSA program that exist... and the rest of my thousands of dollars of merchandise that were in the combined lockers. I cannot believe this is an American company what-so-ever and these kind of thoughtless, coward and simply GREEDY business acts should be banned and never allowed. There was no respect for me as an individual, a professional student, a person of color and clearly not as an American. I learn a lot from all hardships, but this experience is simple. I HATE that someone ever recommended this company to me to store my personal and cherished things! HATE is a strong word I never use! However, I HATE that fact that someone recommended this company to me....and we often wonder why hard-working people lose it, go postal when cheated, stolen from, disrespected and degraded. I hope no one ever has to suffer this kind of stress, worry, anxiety, anger and rage over someone stealing your items, that you worked hard and for many years to obtain. I rented my storage space late on Saturday May 8, 2021, unknowingly my circumstances would change that following morning and I'd no longer need the space after paying $296...keep in mind I hadn't put a lock on the space, didn't move anything in, I didn't revisit the property at all. I tried contacting the facility on Sunday, they were close....ok, cool I'll try them on Monday. On Monday I was told regardless of my moving in or not I would not be able to have a refund of the money paid due to lease agreement. I was initially very upset at the idea of using a storage unit after our move. That changed instantly from the moment I encountered the employees in the office. I accidentally reserved more than one unit and instead of being rude he laughed it off and we moved on. I was given my choice of available units based on my needs as well as given a personal tour upon arrival. The men in this office are very customer service oriented and it makes all the difference! To this day they strive for customer satisfaction even after almost a year! read more

Cleanest storage facility with fresh paint and front desk service provided eased my move in process dramatically.

So far so good! We were renting from a competitor with outlandish fees. I checked into Extra Space. They always seem to have awesome specials and what a relief! Location and service were great but read your lease because they absolutely will fail to mention the fact that there is an automatic price increase in five months and every nine months after. I went in after I found this out and Josh was on the phone discussing the same issue with another client so I know I am not the only one they don't tell this to and when I asked about it he told me they do point out the "important things like late fees but there are 85 things in the lease and we don't go over all of them." Personally, having a rate hike after 5 months is IMPORTANT to me. read more
