I sought the help of "Champion Moving," to which I was referred to by U-Haul, in Coconut Creek, FL…read more 33073.
To start the day, two young men showed up (15 minutes late!) to pack a U-Haul truck which
contained only boxes, and carefully wrapped pictures.
These two young men did NOT know what they were doing. They packed the truth, and did
not make good used of box sizes, or "fragile items." I even tried to help these two, by carrying boxes myself to the front porch, where the back end of the truck was parked. They never said
"thank you" for the help," but were very "careless" in the manner in which they packed the boxes, and they were careless with packing fragile, bubble-wrapped pictures and wall photographs.
The only piece of furniture they had to move was an adjustable bed frame. When they carried
that out, shortly thereafter, the two men asked if they could remove one of the legs? Made no sense to me, but I told them to go ahead, as long as they kept the leg close to the bed frame.
I was to find out, while unloading the truth, the real reason why they asked to remove one of the legs of the adjustable bed frame -- Something happened (neither one ever told me!), that the leg of the frame was bent and damaged! When we unloaded the adjustable from into our new
home, the frame made an awful noise like something was broken inside, but we had no idea
what really happened to the frame, since they never told me about dropping it. The damage
they caused to this adjustable frame meant we had to junk it, as it made to much noise to try and sleep on. The adjustable frame we purchased new, for $900, a year ago, and we had to throw it in the trash.
The two young men also managed somehow, to break numerous wall photographs, in glass frames, that were carefully packed, and bubble-wrapped to prevent damage. They somehow
managed to break the glass on 7 of the glass frames, containing family pictures, etc! This was just plain carelessness!
I called and tried to deal with the owner of this service numerous times, but he did NOTHING to offer any type of compensation or help. The owner did "promise" to "send us a check," but that has never happened either! Stay away from this poorly managed business, who hires young
men who know nothing about moving furniture or even just boxes and bubble-wrapped pictures clearly marked "fragile." I was so angry over the move, how they literally destroyed a $900 adjustable bed frame, as well as cost me a lot of money buying glass to replace the glass they broke on numerous frames.
I would never, ever recommend this outfit to anyone. I thought this would be a rather "simple"
move for them to handle,. The two men were "inexperienced, inept, unappreciative for the help I gave, and only wanted to collect their fee! Stay away from any "Moving Help" located anywhere in the Miami area! The two of them left a lot to be desired!! They are the worst movers I ever have seen!!
