Unlike those big corporate franchises, Lisa is a one person management department, which is the best management. I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years but they no longer value my patronage. They not only raised the monthly rent multiple times (which is expected for inflation) but they also discontinued a discount that I had on my unit since they knew I would be a long-term renter. When I tried to negotiate a compromise, all I received back was pretty much a "Don't like it? Then get out." I hate businesses that don't keep their word. They also provide carts, which was a big help. The overall process was straightforward with no confusion--just a place that does what it's supposed to do. A couple things to keep in mind: pricing can increase over time, so it may not stay at the initial rate if you're storing long-term. I also noticed the front desk wasn't always staffed during posted hours, which could be inconvenient if you need assistance. There is a bathroom on site, but it wasn't available for customer use. I used to have a space in San Mateo with Public Storage and about 5 or 6 of us had our units broken into and I had expensive equipment stolen. They had zero cameras right at the entrance and would not install them even though the policeman told me they kept asking Public Storage to install them And I found out later the same people did the same thing the year before. How did they get the code to get in? They did the 2nd theft as soon as they got out of jail which was my understanding. I never got any insurance money because the insurance guy for Public Storage (or the company they used) was a jerk and was arguing with me that it wasn;t broken into - and I did not have the time to do thier paperwork and go through it with them The insurance guy may have never sent me the papers. And I think they were taking in approx. $400,000 a month back then and they never put the camera up when I was there and as the police requested. And I would always ask the front desk what happened about the thieves, insurance, etc. and they said they did not know anything and implied Public Storage did not care (which was obvious). Arvin and Central Storage were great - great service from Arvin and reasonable charges. As soon as Public Storage took over I knew they would be horrible. They raised the rent to exorbinant fees - almost $500 for a 10 X 10 unit!

Didn't take long to up the rent, about once every 6 months, I could count on rent going up like clock work. I agree with David L. this place doesn't care about anything except rent. Arvin is great. I hope he found a good job and not with Public Storage. My rent has went from 160.00 to 588.00 a month. They don't care that they drove me out because they priced me out. Find another place to store your things, I know it will be cheaper. Good Luck.
