She explained everything and took time showing us various units that were available. The property and units are clean and secure. Every time I've gone in to make a payment, the staff has always been friendly. We recently downsized to 5 x 10 and once again the staff was very accommodating in showing us the units that were available. Thank you Evelyn and the rest of the staff for your helpfulness. Example: one time I watched 2 employees posing out on the lawn, taking 'glamour pics' for a couple minutes, while another customer and I were waiting at the front desk for service... Then my unit was broken into - the perpetrators were able to push the roll-up door off its' track and force it up a couple feet, then grab everything within reach. So this business can talk all they want about security and on-site cameras, but MANY parts of the facility do not have camera coverage, and if something does happen they will be very uncooperative when it comes to allowing police to access footage when you file a police report. I had to plead with them for multiple days before they would finally allow police to view the tape before it 'timed out.' Beware these guys... Been with the Extra Space Storage on Carson Blvd in Hawaiian Gardens, about 2 miles away, for 3 years now, and they are flawless...

Check the site often. - Staff is friendly and helpful, which is a plus. Cons: - Be ready for a price change after 3 or so months (not a ridiculously high price change, but check with the staff if you think it is). - You literally need to hold your phone next to the keypad for entry and exit. Our insurance which we do have, made a mistake on the VIN info. And RJ wouldn't let us talk to Jay to explain. He refused our rental. We needed to store our trailer because the city of Carson is giving tickets for parking our trailer outside of our house while we are preparing to move. We left and found another storage in Orange County when Daniel called and said that we could get the space at Cherry Carson RV because they offer their own insurance. Even though we have proof of insurance. So thank you Daniel for doing your job and fixing what RJ couldn't. The place seems clean and secure. Easy access. It's close to our home. We specifically called the night before to confirm that we would be able to access our unit at 6:00 AM because we needed to retrieve an important item before heading to the airport. We were assured that there would be no problem. The next morning, when we arrived at 6:45 AM, access was denied and we were unable to get our belongings. Being locked out of your storage unit right before a flight is incredibly stressful and unacceptable. The second major issue is the constant rent increases. After only a few months, our rate was increased by approximately $40. Then, after being loyal customers for over two years, we were hit with another increase of nearly $120 per month. These price hikes feel excessive and unfair, especially considering there were no noticeable improvements to the facility or services. Customer service has been inconsistent, communication is unreliable, and the pricing structure feels like a bait-and-switch. They get you in with one rate and then continue raising it over time. Between the unexpected access problems and the unreasonable rent increases, this experience has been extremely frustrating. If you're looking for a storage facility that offers dependable access, honest communication, and stable pricing, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

My husband and I were moving, we rented a storage unit dec 28th and paid for it. The next day dec 29th, we were to move in. We ended up not needing the storage unit so I called on jan 5th to cancel it and get a refund because I was within the 7 days. The lady I spoke with, said she cancelled it and that I would get a full refund. She said she understood completely and she was so apologetic said she was going to make sure we got the refund knowing we are tight with money. I don't understand what happened?? Today feb 2nd I get a call from them saying my accounts going to be over due? I'm in the middle of cleaning and he asks me when i called, i said maybe the second week of january i don't know exactly id have to look.. immediately put me on hold, told me there was no notes that I cancelled at all or called even.. and to top it off he said i told him I called jan 14th?? and there's no way to "check". He was unhelpful but he actually cancelled my unit but wouldn't give me a refund even though they screwed up on their end. Anyway I had to dispute it with my bank where I found out I was charged $105 instead of the $76 it was supposed to be. Thankfully my bank handled it professionally and opened a case. Thank Wells Fargo for giving me my money back immediately and for taking care of your customers! Wells Fargo is the best bank I have ever had the pleasure of being with!! Extra Space Storage was very unprofessional, extremely disappointed with how they handled it. We never even step foot in the building let alone the unit and they had no idea? Seems very disorganized and not taken seriously. I wouldn't store any of my valuables here. I've worked at a very similar company and we actually took care of our customers and paid attention. Maybe find a different location than this one? Idk. Do not recommend this place, go to uhaul or something that is better and they won't steal from you! and sorry I don't have pictures cause I never even stepped foot in the building!
