Caprese sandwich
Jessica S.

We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The parking lot in front and on the side were full. We parked in the Rosemont Business park across the street. I did make reservations because I wasn't sure how crowded it would be. The woman who took care of us was friendly. She told us that they make their own bread and pizza crust. We tried the G. Hill Special as an appetizer. It's fried dough topped with prosciutto, burrata, and bruschetta. It was delicious. We also had the burger, the chicken parm sandwich, and the caprese sandwich. Everything was delicious. The homemade gelato for dessert was creamy and delicious.

Really cool spot. Perfect for a nice weather day when the garage doors are open and there's a nice breeze. If you plan on dining in be sure to make a reservation; this place gets packed! Hugo spritz- good and classic. Whiskey Amargo Sour- very strong. Good homemade sour mix. Cesar salad- ok, the dressing is bitter and acidic Arachini- very good. Crispy outside and tender rice inside. Great creamy cheeses flavor with a perfect balance of the black pepper flavor. Pasta- tender pasta, not too al dente. Great creamy sauce pairs well with the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were very tender and buttery Pizza- great flavor combos. Crispy thin crust. So good

Go to spot for me and my family! Some of our favs are the seafood pasta, hot honey wings, and the chocolate lava cake. Service is always great, Alex is our favorite! Very cool and unique interior of the restaurant. Drinks can be a little pricey but worth it. Would definitely recommend!

We loved the shrimp and scallop vodka fettuccine!

We sat on the second floor overlooking the lively first floor which I didn't mind as it was quieter upstairs. The umbrellas on the ceiling are a fun touch. My daughter and I shared the Mediterranean octopus as an appetizer which we enjoyed. Nonna's pizza with prosciutto and broccoli was just okay and on the dry side. However, we both loved the shrimp and scallop vodka fettuccine. The fettuccine bolognese was also good according to my husband. Our server was attentive, but at the end of the meal while I was looking over the bill, two items were a few dollars more on the bill compared to the menu. We brought this up to our server who said something about a price increase that wasn't reflected on the menu, and he offered to fix our bill. However, please check your bill. I'm guessing most people don't, and thereby get charged more.

Fried bread w/nutella

Unbelievable food!!!! Everything was excellent - well prepared and delicious. We have a mushroom allergy at our table and they were very conscious of it with the grilled artichoke app. I had a burger, my friend had the BLT w/avocado. Amazing! The bread was grilled on the Sammy and the crispy onions in my burger was out of this world! I remembered to take pics of dessert. Fried bread (homemade!) with Nutella. We will be back!!

When you first walk in the restaurant/bar area is dark; I selected patio seating and was glad that I did because it was much brighter on the patio - also, it is heated but I was still a little chilly but not uncomfortable. For a starter, we had the crab dip - this was good; it was cheesy and had good hints of crab meat; our entrees were Sautéed Salmon and Lamb Birria Ramen - the presentation of both dishes was good but the flavor was underwhelming for me (and my nephew) and even though I asked for my salmon to be cooked well, it was slightly undercooked... We did enjoy our drinks - he had a Millionaire Capri Sun and I had You Only Live Twice. If I return, it will only be for appetizers and drinks. The service was really good and the overall atmosphere was good also.

She brought samples as full 5oz pours. Never once asked my wife for her opinion on what sample was sufficient....not once. That is absolutely unheard of....even the worst breweries I've been to still follow up with their customers. The food was greasy. Also, when you're at a brewery, the first thing you should nail down as a server is what are people drinking in the terms of BEER. She was ready to start with the food before the beer. The whole experience was confusing. Secondly, a Pilsner came out that wasn't even ours. And the woman who brought that one out looks like she was out in space land. The bill came out and she charged for the 5 ounce pours. I caught her BS and she said I'm sorry. I'll take it off and then apologized that she had been off for a week of work and then followed up with me before we left and said she was "out of it." What waitress admits that they're out of it? Maybe she was smoking the sticky icky before she got to work. Either she needs retrained or find another job. I would buy Tired Hands at a restaurant, but we're never going back to their location.

Some kinda garlic, parm dipping sauce. Very delicious. We got N/A drinks that were super and came with semi translucent plastic mermaids. A real plus. We got the $50 for two double date which works out pretty well. 1 starter, two entrees and a dessert. There was another option where you could get wine instead if desert. A good deal I think. So we got the whipped feta dip to start. Very good. Then I got a super crunch salad with chicken that was super delicious. Only thing is I can still taste that the food was pretty salty. So now we get to the bad part. The reason I can only give it 3 stars. There was no one there. The place was practically empty and still it took forever to get our food. Even after brushing my teeth and a few hours later. 6:40ish we sit down. We had no where to be. So we didn't mind waiting to have our order taken. That took idk let's say 10 minutes to be charitable. Then another 10 and we got bread. Still no drinks. Probably another 10 before we got our drinks. Then we got another bread. Fast forward 10-15 we get our starter. Finished that. A while later we got the food. Rewind somewhere back during the ordering process we were supposed to get a desert menu. The new menu doesn't have deserts and we got that deal that includes it. So finally we are like can we get that desert menu? We get it and just ask for it to go right away. I can't sit here anymore. It's a a 20 minute drive and we got home at 8:31. Again we didn't have anywhere to be but it is a school night ya know. But yeah I'd go here again. I'd just make it a Saturday.

Shout-out to Megan who's a server, always consistent and speedy (which is nice when you have little ones). Speaking of kids, they have coloring and dough balls for the kids to stay occupied. Chris is also great behind the bar! Be sure to always ask for the specials, amazing choices that rotate regularly so don't miss out. The meatballs appetizer is crazy delicious, 3 lacrosse ball sized meatballs in a rich marinara with ricotta spooned over the top. Order two pizzas as well and I don't care how hungry you and your partner is, you'll have delicious leftovers that reheat well in a toaster oven or on a stovetop. Speaking of pizza, some of my favorites are the shrimp scampi (although I miss the mixed seafood pizza they had a few years ago), the Philly special, and the chicken bacon ranch pizza is a favorite. The upside down is awesome as well. Honestly never had a bad meal here and this place is slowly becoming my local hangout. We decided to stop at The Grog Grill which I had only been to once before in the 23 years I've lived in the area. I recalled that at that time, the Grog burger had been named best of the Main Line so I tried it and thought it was definitely not the best burger. The service was excellent, the pub environment was pub-like, we were seated at a high top at the back of the restaurant and next to a door to to the outside which made it very cold! I wore my heavy coat the entire meal. Cobb salad - 3/5, I think it's hard to mess up a cobb salad, but this was just okay. Tons of bacon bits and not a lot of salad greens, almost like a deconstructed salad which is weird for pub food. Mushroom flat bread - 3/5, just okay What redeemed our lunch was that when we asked for the check, our lovely server told us that the older gentleman at the bar had taken care of it along with the checks for several other patrons that day. That's never happened to me before! I will need to pay it forward...just maybe not at The Grog Grill.
