Great vibe. Fun menu with comfort foods and variety. Great service. Highly recommend for connecting with friends or a casual date night.

There aren't enough good things I can say about Tired Hands. I fell in love with the Fermentaria and love enjoying the intimate feel and humble beginnings at this Brew Café. It's no wonder they are able to open their own General Store a storefront down the street from here! At the Brew Café where Tired Hands all started, you can find a constantly rotating list of beers of all types. They always have their HopHands (classic Pale Ale) and SaisonHands (saison, as expected) on tap at both Brew Café and Fermentaria but they both typically won't have the same rotating beers so I will typically go to both locations over one weekend. The beers change all the time and their tap list with extensive details including ingredients and key taste notes are always given to you and found on their website. No flights here; you can get them in 4, 8, or 16oz servings and can take them home with you in 32/64 oz growlers (but only using their growlers). Also food!! You aren't going to get a meal here like you do at Fermentaria; they just don't have the kitchen for it. But what they do have is solid, delicious local cured meats, cheeses, and pickles as well as a panini press for some light meals. They not only make their own beers and sodas but they also bake their own dense, delicious bread that they serve with nearly everything that they have here. Their foods also rotate to keep up what is fresh and local so I'm always looking forward to what they bring to the table. You can tell they really care here about quality of their food and drinks. I mean, they make homemade soda, have some ballin cold brew, and Darjeeling iced tea? Man, if only I didn't come here for only their beer and food... Anyway, I love this place and you certainly will too if you enjoy quality beer and food by the Main Line, this is the spot to be.

Burratta - So good! We asked for more bread to sop up all the olive goodness!

We happened to pass by while on an errand and decided to stop in for a light lunch and a few samples of their beer. We shared the Burrata, which is similar to a ball of super fresh mozzarella swimming in olive oil with garlic and blanched heirloom tomatoes. It was so tasty, we asked for extra bread to sop up the flavorful oil and tiny bits of tomato and cheese. We sampled four of their beers in flight-sized 4 oz pours (although they don't officially offer flights, and only serve one glass at a time). All were very good. They only had two IPA varietals on tap, and most were on the low ABV range (under 5%), which is very much a good thing in my opinion. Definitely worth coming back again.

5/5 for beer. Hands down. Tired Hands is the best brewery experience and beer that I've had. They're creative, push the boundaries, and unique. They're also friendly. You have to have friendly people serving you a beer to really enjoy it. The beer options here often differ from those at the Fermentaria but are just as good, if not better. 4/5 for food. I personally prefer the food options at the Fermentaria (right down the road) more, but that's just me. You go here for a different experience and more "pub" food with a plethora of paninis (Tuesday is Panini Pandemonium with a special panini each week). I'd go to this location for a relaxed, casual, beer and panini or unique sides. I'd also go for just a beer--the upstairs is a great spot for bar seating and this location has been less crowded than the fermentaria when we have gone (usually during weekdays). If you want the "brewery" feel go to fermentaria. They also have a wider selection of food options. Moral of the story- you can't go wrong. It's the best beer in this region (if not the entire east coast in my opinion). Do yourself a favor and go ASAP!

We used to live in Ardmore and love this place. We were back in town and had to stop in. My favorite brewery I've ever been to. Beer: I'm not an IPA person, so the saison hands (and any variation of it) are amazing for me. I got the rhubelion (rhubarb saison) and it hit the spot. Ambiance: cool, quirky, always something to look at. And they redid the bathrooms! We like heading right upstairs to the bar and playing dice games while having a pint or a few. Food: I'm a snacker, so I love this place! Pickle plates are the bomb. And the local veg pickles this time around we're my favorite. We also always get a cheese plate which comes with 4 types and amazing homemade bread and butter. Finally- the candied bacon. Delicious. Pour over coffee is a nice touch too. Love it!

This is a different beast for those who have visited the Fermentaria. Both locations are unique in many ways. The original brewery has more character whereas the Fermentaria has the feeling of mass production and each location brews different beers, odd but true. The brewers at the original location focus more on Saisons, and the Fermentaria tends to reproduce beers that have already been made. After being both locations I don't have a favorite. I like them both equally and in their own way.

I know this place makes great beer. That's no lie. But i think their food has a bit of room for improvement. I opted for the fresh halibut fish tacos . The tacos were both piled high with lots and lots of cabbage and a creamy red sauce, with a small portion or of fish and lots of batter. I'm from California and I know we have mexican food that's second to none but I think there is a huge room for improvement here. The piece of halibut was very much on the tiny side after you work through the batter. There was also two corn tortillas with each taco and for me one tortilla would have been plenty. I get that they wanted to ensure that the taco stayed together with two, but it was just too much for me, so I pulled one off. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for more fish, so i don't feel like i'm eating a cabbage taco. The sauce on the taco was tasty and I even spiced it up a bit more with some extra sauce the bartender provided. The service here was warm and friendly and the beer was spot on as usual. 3.5 Stars!!!!

The building here is so awesome. I love the atmosphere and how they have left it original. I was easily able to find metered parking outside and was greeted by a Hostess when I entered and seated immediately at the bar. This is my first visit here so I tried one of everything with my boyfriend! That may seem crazy but they let you do little pours for just a couple bucks and then we shared them. They do not do flights and they do not pour all at once so each time you want to try the next one on the list you just ask them and they'll give it to you. And they weren't short-staffed at all you always had one of three guys back there to serve you. No waiting very friendly. I got their bologna and cheddar Panini with a pickle on the side and they're hop hands mustard. Oh my God it was delicious take a look at my picture! My boyfriend got there ham and peaches Panini and he loved it. But what about the beer you say! I really loved sticky IPA, Mimosa hands, hop hands and several more that I can't even remember right now but they were so damn good. Now I have to go over to the fermentation location and try all of theirs. It was so good I got sticky IPA in a growler to go. Which was super reasonably priced. I actually can't believe how well priced all the beer and food was. I am a huge fan, you guys do a wonderful job. I can't wait to try some of the milkshake series!

Tired Hands has some excellent beers that are getting stellar recognition in the beer scene on a national basis. They are fantastic, and as that's pretty much common knowledge at this point, I'll focus on reviewing the brewery space itself. It's hard to compare breweries against each other, except when there are two of them within walking distance in the same town. If I had to pick, I'd spend more time at the Tired Hands Fermentaria. It's newer, brighter and more spacious. It's a good thing I don't have to choose though. They each have different draft lists, so why not visit both? During my visit my group found its home to be by the bar on the second floor. The atmosphere is darker and more pub-like. It also got crowded quickly. At one point I felt like I was just standing in the walkway and had nowhere else to move. Once the space emptied out, there's some decent space towards the back of the bar. At least I had some enjoyable brews (Cars Parked in the Sun and Beware of Darkness) to enjoy in my space. I didn't sit or eat, but they also have a menu and table service. Not a bad way to enjoy a Tired Hands beer from the source, but the Fermentaria is a bit more of my scene.

Thick cut candied bacon and pimento cheese and sesame cracker appetizers

Tired Hands is a place you want to stop in for a couple pints and a quality meal. Its ambiance is balanced well between a laid-back-chill-zone and beer-enthisiast-public-house. And one neat décor element were the welded copper tap handles. I ordered a HopHands (Pale Ale), followed up by the Hurdy Gurdy. I wanted try their cannabis IPA, but unfortunately, it was 86ed before I had a chance to order. Sitting at the bar, my friend and I started with a couple shared appetizers, including their thick cut candied bacon and their pimento cheese and crackers. Both the bacon and cheese were practically inhaled - very tasty. The roast beef, aged cheddar, and caramelized onion paninis (we each ordered our own) were likewise delicisioso. The fact they bake their own artisan bread, and purchase their meats and cheeses locally (I believe within 100 mile radius) is really cool, and certainly not mainstream among other breweries. I also applaud the fact they offer 10% off draft beer to US veterans who present ID!

I was blown away by my visit here yesterday. I'm going to break it down into three categories so here we go! Beer- First want to note that no flights are available but you can get any beer in a 4oz taster size. Between my boyfriend and I, we sampled every beer on tap. My favorites were the saisons (SaisonHands, Searching for brain, and Sans non) Although you really can't go wrong with any beer here. They were all full of flavor and freshly brewed! Loved the Searching for brains beer so much that we bought a 64oz growler on the way out. I can't wait to enjoy it. Food- We were blown away by the local cheeses, in house baked bread, different types of pickles (my favorite was the Tzatziki Zucchini), havarti and mushroom panini, and even the salad was full of flavor. I felt like a queen. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of food we received. Ambience- We were there in the evening so we got to enjoy a romantic, candlelit dinner. The waitress was on pointe, asking us if we'd like another beer right after we finished the last. She even replaced our candle whenever it ran out of wax without us even having to ask. She was present but not overly so. The decor is cozy and Jean's beer artwork is hung around. It was fun to take pictures and peek into the brewing room to watch where the magic takes place. We wanted to visit the merch shop next door but unfortunately it was closed before we had a chance. Definitely next time!

What are the parking options? I see that the listing says "Street," but are there any lots nearby?

Parking is free in Ardmore after 6pm on weekdays. There are some metered parking lots nearby, but sometimes street parking is more readily available as there's still some big construction projects in the area.

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with fries...my friend ordered muscles and the ham sandwich special. The muscles arrived cold. Not warm, not tepid...just cold. They were sent back for a trip in the microwave which is a place that shellfish should never journey too...if you want them to remain tender. When I ordered, I asked about a few items and was assured that "people love the roast beef". Now I've had "French Dip" style roast beef before at other restaurants, and when done right...it's a memorable experience. Crusty toasted torpedo style roll brimming with thinly sliced hot beef...provolone cheese melted over the top and down the sides...served with a side of au jus dipping sauce, that you would want to slurp down a soup bowl full. But this...was not that! The sandwich arrived on a hamburger style bun...the meat was piled "adequately" in the center but sloped off considerably as it headed for the edge of the bun. There was no need to worry about meat falling out as I took a bite...as none of it protruded past the buns edge. The cheese was there...a single uninspired round slice covered the cold and somewhat soggy bottom of the bun... and wasn't melted...at all! I suspect that the kitchen assumed that the meat would melt the cheese...but the meat would have to be hot for that to happen. In this sandwich...the closer you got to the middle of the "meat mound"...the colder it got. And little did I know when asked if I wanted provolone on the sandwich...that it would be an additional charge. Now for my fries. They weren't hot...they weren't even warm...they were "ice cold"! I sent them back light heartedly joking that there must be a door open in the kitchen (it was a cold evening) and the server returned shortly with hot fresh ones...minus the pickles that were on my plate. This goes to show that fries can reach the table...hot. The hot ham and cheese sandwich "special", served on a pretzel bun, wasn't hot...and wasn't special. I saw no melted cheese...only thin dry slices of ham, stiff as roofing shingles, protruded from the roll. There was no mustard...no sauce...no "something special" to make the "special", special... just stiff little sad ham planks...wondering where they went wrong On both recent visits...the service has been "spotty". (I know that cell service in the pub isn't spotty, because on my first visit...both servers had their heads buried in their phones). It doesn't seem like there's a real system in place for insuring that the customers receive "attentive" service. To their credit...they did remove the muscles from the check without us asking...but I never got a feeling that the next party to walk through the door...would have a better experience. When you find a good local pub with great food...it's like going to eat at grandmas house. You know that you'll always leave feeling warm, wanted, and fed really well. And you'll be excited by the thought of a return visit. I'm still looking.
