    Beer menu - Aug 2024
    Dan M.

Been wanting to visit Tired Hands for some time and finally got a chance while visiting around Philly. This place is worth the effort to locate. The beer is top quality and the location is large with lots of seating. Nice that they offer loads of can options to go including their side brewing company Little Log Cabin. They have a good food menu as well. Definitely want to come back

This was my first time back at the Fermentaria in several years, partially due to COVID and partially due to the fact that I was not a big fan of their beer selections. There are a few that I think are good, but not strongly enough to go there. I have friends though who love the place, so when they suggested I thought, sure, why not, the food was good though. Since the COVID shutdowns they moved their retail space into the Fermentaria, which is nice and also takes some space away from dining tables. It's a big space though and somehow it makes the space feel less like a cafeteria. They're known for funky art designs - something the NMA really likes. There are no servers - you order by scanning a QR code, selecting items, paying and sending. Someone comes by later and brings your food. I've seen this in other places and I don't mind too much. The menu has changed quite a bit though, and is limited in choices. I ordered the salad with a lemon -vinegar type dressing and a basket of fries. The fries were the highlight, they were really good. The salad was so bland I was not sure there was dressing on it. No S& P on the table meant I could not improve it on my own (salt covers a lot of sins in a salad). My friends enjoyed their food - the pork panini was declared 'really good'. The beer was fine, again, there's a few I don't mind. No surprises, I would not choose to go there again unless it was a group gather.

Nice tap room. Great environment and relaxed setting. Great for most occasions. Great beer selection at very reasonable prices. Also a variety of food options...seemingly something for everyone. Seating at bar, counter-height tables and standard tabled seating throughout the space. The brewery vats can be seen toward the back of the space along with some cool decor throughout. There is a store where you can buy merch and their canned beer to go toward the back as well. All staff were friendly and efficient. Lots of metered parking spacing along the main road and in nearby lots. After 6pm is free.

Perhaps I was too harsh on Tired Hands as a brand all those years ago when I first reviewed them. They do make some great beers, especially their milkshake IPAs. Somehow I like this place better than the smaller Tired Hands brewery down the road, despite the fact that on the surface the brewpub feels like it's more my kind of place. While it's reminiscent of a warehouse, I appreciated that it's less claustrophobic than its sister location. The ambiance doesn't take a hit and this still feels like its own distinct brand. The beers are also still good, despite being told that the beers brewed in the smaller location tend to be better.

Metup with friends here a few months ago. You order food and drinks electronically at the table via your phone. It was good time. Service was great and the food and beers are always wonderful!!

Very excited to finally drop a review for Tired Hands Brewing, Fermentaria location! I first became aware of the existence of the brewery at the height of the covid lock down and although I could not get their beer at the time I did develop a mild obsession with their online merchandise store in which I have placed several orders for their shirts and hoodies. But the opportunity at last arrived and I finally got to try some Tired Hands beer! Alien Church was the name of the beer that Steve and I enjoyed and is a New England IPA! This was one of the better beers I have had for this IPA type in a few months. Tropical, sweetness and hoppiness are the flavor features you will pick up with this beer and in texture it is smooth and light. As I said this New England IPA was one of the better ones I've had in recent months and is a far cry from a typical run of the mill New England IPA that a lot of breweries seem to be generating.

The Tired Hands Fermentaria is a spacious brewery with really fun hipster vibes going. They have a great selection of beers. While I don't drink much anymore, my friends all really enjoyed the IPAs, especially the flagship IPA. One of my friends lamented that there were no sours on the menu. Ordering was super easy. You scan a code and order online on your phone and they bring you the food or drinks super fast. Our group loved the shishito peppers and sweet potato fries. The peppers were expertly cooked but I did wish there was a little more salt stuck to them rather than sitting on the bottom. Best of all, the bill was super reasonable in the end. They have fair prices for their IPAs, not the $12 beers you find downtown. We brought a board game and hung out for several hours and had a great time. Definitely planning to be back.

Every time we are remotely close to Ardmore, we almost always make a pit stop to Tired Hands to stock up on their awesome and unique beers! We particularly love their milkshake IPAs, and their Aperol spritz-turned beer last summer was a hit in our house! Despite us often picking up their brews, we never actually stopped inside the Fermentaria for grub and drinks until this winter. We were super excited to meet some friends there and get the full ambience! We came on a Saturday evening and waited a few mins for a table for 4, but nothing crazy at all. We were able to order some drinks on their contactless online portal and hang by their shop / waiting area, which was nice. By the time our first round came, our table was already ready! I started off the night with one of their milkshake IPAs (I think it was a fruity one?? It's been a while - I apologize for the late review!!), which of course, was delightful and refreshing. The rest of our party enjoyed their first round as well! We hit our table and were able to notice the space more - the fermentaria is nothing too incredibly special in terms of decor, but it definitely has a homey and true brewery / bar feel. Of course, the focus should be the beer, not the ambience so we thought it was perfect! For eats, they have a small menu, with mostly sandwiches and some shareable plates, all good beer-pairing food. I went for the mushroom grinder, which was quite delicious! It was full of a variety of mushrooms all mixed in a pretty spicy sauce and encased in a robust sesame bun. That, paired with the fresh french fries, was pretty filling! I appreciated them having a vegetarian option in addition to their more meat-forward offerings, so Tired Hands can appeal to multiple dietary needs. Once I finished my first round paired with my sandwich, I went for their "Neapolitan" beer, which had a milkshake IPA on the bottom and and a porter layered on top. This was featured on their in-house menu and was pretty cheap (I think like $5??), so I was intrigued. It was a great way to try both beer varietals, and the presentation was key. I enjoyed this option and was the perfect second beverage. Everyone else really enjoyed their few beers and eats, and we were glad we picked such a conducive place for good drinks, food, and conversation! Overall, we enjoyed our long overdue trip to the Fermentaria! The vibe was fun, and the food was tasty and nicely paired with their excellent beers. We definitely hope to make it back to try of course more beers, especially their summer IPAs and other unique offerings, and more of their food options! Highly recommend to anyone making their way through Ardmore or anyone interested in one of Philly's best local brews!

LOVE! Well worth the 1.5 hour drive. We didn't make a reservation before hand, but there were high tops available during our wait (and the beer selection was enough to hold us over :)). Some might complain about the noise, but as to be expected due to the space of the building. We were lucky enough to snag a table outside, a shame there isn't a larger outdoor space, but not complaining because it's small and intimate away from the noise. The fish tacos were tasty and filling. Fresh slaw added texture and the tortillas seemed fresh. Requested the wing sauce on the side incase it was too hot for my 11 year old. For parents bringing their kiddos, not a lot of options if you have a picky eater, but do able (maybe bring a snack along). Make sure to take some beer home with you!

Great salad, beers were delicious, and good people watching. Just be careful to watch the signs for parking because they can be confusing.

They have a nice selection of beers handy and the menu had a surprising number of good options. I finally went with the burger and am so glad I did! It was absolutely gorgeous and cooked a perfect medium. My first bite and I knew it was a fresh patty. I asked if they made them in house but they actually get them from Wells, a Philly staple for good meats. Came with an ample portion of shoestring fries which were hot and crisp. Can't wait to head back and try some more of the menu options. If I can tear myself away from the burger anyway...
